I had a leak in my fountain and had Craig come by to check it out. He did not know if it was a crack in the pond or a pipe leak. Please read this review... For people looking for a great look and company. This is it. They landscaped my front yard with a water feature. In a very limited square foot area. We love it. I assume many companies can make very beautiful designs because that's what they are paid to do, and specialize in. This company is no different. What makes them different is their commitment to what you have had them build. Over the years I have called them back to fix the feature if it broke. To add extra lights even when the time would not benefit them (they did it for free even). When I had a main pipe leak and a plumbing company ruined the landscape. They came back and fixed what the other company left looking disastrous. This is why I recommend this company. Anyone can build something attractive and modern. But it takes someone special, to keep committed - ensuring that the product and landscape you purchased, lasts a life time. Ten stars! read more

I am an EXTREMELY picky person, to say the least and tend to micromanage inconspicuously. With that said, as I watched Lunaquatic in action I was amazed with their performance, professionalism, cleanliness and ultimately their EXCEPTIONALLY well done job. Wow!! Our stream is STUNNING that Craig fixed in one day. Not only does he have an amazing artistic eye, but he left this place spotless. I've had other workers come and leave cuttings and a mess everywhere. Craig must run a tight ship because everything was right where it was supposed to be, and he even took the time to clean up beds that were not thriving. I finally feel that we have so much life around us again! We've had a rough year with health issues and finances and mean neighbors. But after Craig left, I felt a HUGE weight taken off of me. And I wasn't even here when they were working! I trusted him and I came home to a gorgeous pondless stream and waterfall. Did I mention that he is one of the nicest, kindest, most honest and respectful men I've ever met who truly cares about the client. His prices are good-competitive with some others. We decided to redo our backyard and wanted to add a large water feature as the main part of it. We were refereed to Lunaquadic by a former customer of theirs. The process started with Craig coming out to look over the area, get our ideas and put together a bid. From the 1st meeting I was very impressed with Craig, he was very professional, knowledgeable and truly understood what I was looking for before I could tell him. After agreeing to the bid, Craig did not ask for a large amount of money up front, another good sign he runs a professional company. We set up a start date, and on that day he and his crew showed up 1st thing that morning and put in a full hard days work. They remained on the job showing up each morning and working until the job was done. Craig was on site much of the time, and oversaw each step giving us great confidence the job would go well and it did! Craig did some extensive landscaping including a fountain and a deck. Friendly guy with a good eye for design, but sadly the quality of his work does not hold up nor do I find him reliable. I am still waiting to hear back from him messages that I left several months ago. I had to repair and or replace all of the pipes to the sprinklers and fountain because they all leaked. I discovered this after enormous water bills and searching around noticed how wet the ground was. Now the fountain itself is leaking. Upon further investigation with other landscape architects, I learned that he did not use a hard liner but a soft liner that is now leaking. Each landscape architect told me it was the worst job they had seen for a fountain. So now I am in the process of replacing the fountain. The deck was a nightmare. He would bring the redwood and there would be black spot on it. He did not know what there were and I certainly did not. Finally after my researching I learned it was tannin bleed. I went to Home Depot and there was a product to apply to get rid of it. I showed it to Craig and he said, oh yeah I have used that before. I specifically told him how I wanted the post on the deck placed above the concrete with U - sharped brackets. But instead he put the raw wood into the wet concrete. Over time that wood will absorb moisture need to be replaced as opposed to how I wanted it done. His lead worker destroyed the top to my spa by using it as a saw horse, he left all the saw dust on the top of it and while I was traveling for business it rained and the sawdust and chemicals in the wood stained the top and could not be repaired. Friendly guy with a good eye for design, but his workmanship and follow through are weak and shoddy for long haul. read more

I contacted Craig for a pond repair job and he told me to send him a text with my number and address so we could set up a meeting at my house. I waited half a day which I figured that was enough time to finish his current task. I waited a day, then two, then three. I figure by now he is just not going to contact me. I wish him and any of his clients well but I was turned off by the complete lack of response. Perhaps he is great, but I will never know. read more

We've been thinking about replacing our lawns for a very long time. We happened to walk by a house in our neighborhood and admired their front yard. The owner came out, told us about what a wonderful project it was - and showed us the backyard. The design was resonating with us and depicted ideas that fit so perfectly with what we wanted but hadn't figured out. She highly recommended Lunaquatic. So, long story short, we called Lunaquatic that afternoon, Craig called call back within hours, and set up an appointment. We started the project in mid January and finished just as February started. (This project was interrupted by replacing our roof - but that's another story.) We replaced the lawn in the front and back yards - and took out oodles of ivy along our side yard. We had some ideas of what plants we wanted - drought tolerant, California Native, butterfly and hummingbird friendly, with lots of color and texture variety. Craig, or the Yard Whisperer, as we came to call him, employed his talents and artistry, started with our vague ideas, and created the most amazing spaces. He and his crew are great to work with. Our yard is now a neighborhood showpiece. In the front, a dry creek bed meanders from one side to the other, with rocks, plants, and lights creating subtle focal points. The back yard is now an oasis in which our kids can play and we can quietly read, as the plants grow up around us. The side yard has a ground covers and shrubs that will stabilize the slight slope, bloom and smell lovely, while not housing critters as the ivy did. I actually go outside now - to look at the plants, rocks, and creek bed. It's so pleasant just to be in it. Runners, dog people, parents and kids walking by all stop, compliment the yard, and ask who did what. In case you're wondering, the price was reasonable, extremely competitive, and did not break the bank. Most people looking at the yard, who dare to ask, are surprised that such a gorgeous yard was affordable. All in all, it was the most pleasant home construction/remodeling project we've ever done. So much so, we're figuring out what to do with the parts of the yard we didn't yet touch - and you can be sure Lunaquatic will be involved! read more

My condo building has a common "atrium" area with a very large cascading water fountain--a great feature of the building as it creates a lovely ambient "babbling brook" sound. But the bed of the fountain had cracked over years of the ground settling and we had a leak on our hands. We tried to call many different companies to bid the job - waterproofing companies, landscape companies, pool companies, etc etc. and no one was willing to tackle the job. We almost considered just filling it up and covering the area with landscaping...until we found Craig and Lunaquatic. Craig was very responsive when I initially called, and we quickly set a date for him to come inspect the fountain. He recommended draining and redoing the fountain to prevent future cracks and leaks, and he explained why we shouldn't just do the short term fixes of sealing the crack. He also suggested installing a sump pump, which we really needed during LA's two annual rains to make sure the fountain doesn't flood. We could tell Craig really knew what he was talking about and we trusted his recommendation. Work started a couple weeks later and 3-4 days later Craig's crew had completed our new fountain. Craig and his guys completed everything as outlined, quickly, efficiently, and with great skill. They did a great job. But when everything was done, a few of the homeowners were unhappy with the way things looked. What happened next is why Lunaquatic gets 5/5 stars-- We explained the concerns and Craig was totally understanding. He made some quick adjustments in the short term that really helped, and then he scheduled his guys for a whole extra morning of work a couple weeks later to make the bigger changes we were looking for. He did all of this without additional charges. He said he wanted to make sure we were happy with the job. And I can tell you, we really are. Big thanks to Craig, Junior and the whole team who gave us a great new fountain and made sure it was exactly what we wanted. If I could give Lunaquatic six stars, I would!! I had a backyard that would make you want to stay in when the weather was beautiful...I finally decided to do something about it and interviewed quite a few "pond experts". They either didn't understand what I wanted or just wanted to charge me an arm and a leg. Craig came out to meet with me and understood immediately what I wanted. I had a pond that was very old and I explained my biggest concern was to protect my water turtles. I also found during our first meeting that Craig has been doing landscape design for a very long time. I decided to take a chance and hire him to do it all. I wanted something that would look beautiful but require very little maintenance. I asked for a DG pathway, succulants, a space to be left for artificial turf and lighting around the trees and pond. I can't tell you how beautiful it came out..I LOVE my new backyard! The before and after photos are unbelievable!! Whenever I have a question, Craig gets right back to me or stops by to check in. One of my plants needed to be replaced as it wasn't doing well and he came that week and replaced it and even brought a few more and scattered them around. I can't say enough great things about Craig and his team!! It is rare that you find someone that stands by his work!! read more

Craig has a degree in art, I believe. He also has spent over a decade in landscaping. Combining his artful eye for scale, proportion, color, form, and light and shade with the technical skills of water and lighting features, makes his abilities unique. He did our front yard lighting over a decade ago, taking care to avoid "hoy spots". He shared the rationale for his choices with me. Since doing that, I always notice the amateurish lighting around the neighborhoods of LA and wish more people used Craig. He then designed a backyard plan that was amazing in that he recaptured space we had lost to grading a very steep hill. In 2016, Craig and his team did a major re-landscaping of our front yard. I had definite ideas and plant lists. Craig fulfilled all my wishes but better, since he has that eye and experience. The yard is now water wise, fresh and fun but still appropriate for our traditional 1929 Normandy Tudor revival home in Westwood. The team was really nice and professional. They swept up every night and finished in 2 weeks. The yard and the crew were so well received by the neighborhood, we must have received 2 dozen requests for the co. name and number. The yard looks great almost 3 years later. The fountain is maintenance free except for a little algae cleaning. read more

For our medium sized fountain, Craig and his guys resurfaced the fountain box, removed the old flagstone and installed new tile on the wall above and behind the water feature, installed two new copper water spouts and two new underwater led lights, relocated the electrical outlet and replaced the water pump. Craig built a pond less waterfall with 12 ft creek in my backyard last week. It looks so natural and beautiful, you'd never guess it is "man made" ! It took about 3 days to build. I've gotten nothing but compliments from friends and neighbors who just want to sit by my creek and relax with the gentle sound of flowing water. It's so very relaxing any time of the day and worth every penny........he added lights so at night, the entire waterfall glows so beautifully. I'm so very very pleased with Craig's professionalism and follow through. We had some minor issues with a part not working correctly and with each return visit, he always had a pleasant demeanor and smile albeit a slightly inconvenient situation for him. I also love that he was open to answering any questions I had through text or voicemail. He actually answers his phone too! (What a plus!).
