    Fruit tart

Friends brought a beautiful fruit tart to dinner. The fruit was fresh and the crust was good, but the custard was just ok. I prefer the fruit tart from WF.

Purchased two loafs of French bread from the Belmont store, got home and both were completely stale. Never again

My third review. Each time I will post different review they took down.

If I can give a zero star I will. Every two days they take down my review. Why you may ask...well because this store is Racist and do not want ppl to find out how racist their employees are. They still want your money but they have zero clue in keeping their customers not feel threatened. Unsure if it's just something they are now accustomed to with current administration. They blatantly removed my review and that's fine. I will keep on posting. March 28th, my wife came in to buy a few items. She ended up in the ETHNIC aisle. Looking for couscous and pasta. Here she is minding her own business when their young employee walking towards her. She see that he is saying something. Paused her audio and ask him What did he just trying to say? He gesturing her with premade sushi in his hand. He asked her if this was hers? She was offended thinking why would it be hers? So she asked why would it be? He said(no filter non whatsoever) because she was looking at the same shelves where this was and she was in this aisle. So it must be hers. She got mad and said because she was looking at something in this aisle so it must be her who irresponsibly left perishable food on the shelf? Did this kid think before he speak? He not only insulted her by accusing her of doing something she didn't. He went another step by assuming she is Asian so that means she must eat sushi. She just walked away and ignored this dumb kid. If he would apologize then it would end there but no apology or own up the mistake. Now there's consequences of his actions. Go check your damn store cameras. That whole interaction is on there.

Their sourdough is fresh daily and fantastic! Bread is soft and the outside has a great chew but not tough.

This review is strictly on the deli/meat section of the store. The deli is great. The service I receive when I go in the mornings is commendable. They slice the deli meat as you order so there are never slimy, bacteria, or gross wet meats like other delis. They use 1/3 of a pound of meat for each sandwich. Prices have gone up, but not expensive due to costs rising. (Currently $9.99) The manager and I had a conversation while I was waiting for my sandwich. They prepare their roast beef and do not add anything weird to it which is made in-house. The meat department has great service as well! They do not have any packaged meat and there is a full-service counter to order whatever you need. They butcher their meats as it comes in. A real steal is their marinated steaks! They have various marinated types of meat. My favorites are the ribeyes and New York steaks for $13.99/lb. They also have marinated filet mignon and skirt steak that are great as well. Lunardis may be more expensive than your other options like Safeway, but quality and service are the tops there!

    Dinner!

Polly , the head cashier, was rude. Most of the time, the experience is great. But she made me not want to go back to Lunatdi's.

All the staff are helpful and knowledgeable. l don't know them personally but I'm a fan of each person for different reasons. One time I was buying persimmons that were kind of pricey... and the cashier paused to let me know the cost. It was expensive but I really wanted them so I nodded for them to cross the scanner but I appreciated him pointing it out because I hadn't looked at the price tag! The store is always fresh and clean, as is the parking lot. I appreciate that they have ample parking and you can enter/exit from 3 different streets. Other helpful features: * They have plastic bag recycling outside, and other machines inside that I haven't used (locker, CRV bottle recycling, maybe a coin counter?). * They are open throughout the year with the exception of just Christmas Day. Bless them for being open on the eves and New Year's Day! * If you shop here regularly, be on the look out for their annual Cyber Monday Gift Card sale (pay $75 for a $100 gift card). * On Fridays, there is a van that sharpens knives while you shop! I highly recommend them!

This review is strictly for the deli and Starbucks…read more I go here often for lunch because I'm down the road. Usually get a sandwich, sushi or something from the deli like chicken wings or mash potato's etc. Have fun here. There could be 7 employees working the deli and only 2 are doing anything. They will see a line of like 8 people waiting to get a sandwich and they will only have 1 person helping. Meanwhile 2 or 3 other people just laughing and chatting in the back or up front at the soup station talking to the rest of the stores employees. Time when they put out food is inconsistent. You can go at 9am and they will have all their food out. Chicken, ribs, corn dogs, Mac n cheese, etc. You can also go at 11am and they will only have pizza sticks and some fried chicken? So there are times I go for lunch and there's nothing. When do they actually make the food? Because it's never been the same times or the same amount of food out ready to be sold. I go there and it's either full of every selection or just corn dogs at 1130 am. It's very irritating. Now for the Starbucks side. There's a real one across the street but it's convenient to use the one within Safeway while I'm on lunch. I go multiple times a day to this Safeway. Either to get lunch and or coffee or items I need from home. There's only ever 1 or 2 employees at Starbucks. If there's 1 person working they're working so slow while also stopping to talk to customers or the Safeway employees. Even if there's multiple people waiting. If there's 2 employees then 1 is working and the other is just pretending to fix the mug display in front of it for what seems forever. Your 1 coffee if you're the only customer and 1 person is working will probably take like 7 minutes to get to you.

I was mostly here for a quick snack. There are two entrances on each end of the building. The entrances towards the produce section was the only one open. You walk in and it goes produce on the right wall. Butcher in the back right corner. Meats along the back wall. Bakery and then deli in back left and left wall. They were restocking so lots of boxes everywhere. Everyone was hard at work and avoided eye contact. They didn't seem like they were low on any products at least in the bakery and deli section. I was able to find a few different intriguing options other than just a sandwich. The front of the store where the cashiers are does seem pretty small and very close to the start of the aisles and so if you have a cart you'll be weaving in and out and side stepping anyone walking by. Super huge parking lot. It's the only major grocery store in the area so they must serve a ton of people. It's in walking distance of the train and it's next to several different restaurants, boutiques, and shops.

They also have a great selection of lokum (Turkish Delight), of which I purchased several flavors. Best of all, I sat down for a delicious serving of Turkish coffee. I had mine "az sekerli" (a little sugar), which was luxurious and a treat. I look forward to returning for baklava and simit. BTW. My visit was met with a friendly welcome, which was appreciated.

I've been here a couple times in the last several months, and I've seen mostly the same breweries and labels (maybe 10% change?). But my biggest issue with Holly Market is the cost - Their prices are the highest I've ever seen in the Bay Area. Four-packs of micro-brew pint cans run about $2 more than they are anywhere else, including Whole Foods. And if you grab a 4-pack of a double or triple IPA, you'll be paying at least $4 more than other places. I asked about this the last time I was here, and the guy said, "Higher alcohol beers are more expensive," which in general is true; but not THIS much more expensive. It seems to me they are using that as an excuse to double their already-high markup. I've actually cancelled more than one purchase here when I saw the actual charge pop-up on the register. (Note: They don't post prices for most beers). I was going to give Holly Market 3 stars, but based on the unusually-high Yelp rating...and abnormal number of 5-star reviews from newbies (We know what that means!) I'll do my part to move the needle in the direction of the real world. Interestingly, the very act of writing this review has made me realize one thing: I'm done with this place.
