Honestly wanted to support a small local business even with the more expensive prices compared to other larger markets but when the butchers are standing around and then tell me to "get in line" when I've been the one waiting as they continued helping others that arrived after me pissed me off. A Lying , Dishonest and Unethical Business! I received a txt message/ads saying Geoduck is on sale on May 18, 2025 at $12.99/lb. When I showed up at 2PM this date, the market refused to honor the ads price because "new stock has not arrived yet" even though they have plenty of geoducks in their water tank. Trying to get to the grocery store and back as a very new mom is really tricky. Especially when you're in the middle of "sit month" or "confinement month," and I'm supposed to be eating all these very specific meats, produce, roots, and herbs. I bought a Polemo yesterday without price tag but it was at the box with price tag of $5.99 each. But I found out today that they charged me $9.99. What a rip-off. The only asian grocery store nearby. Much better than having to go to SF and willing to pay a bit more for the convenience. They offer free delivery to my area which was very helpful during covid but I don't buy enough to get free delivery on a regular basis. I would buy more and more frequently if the staff were helpful. It doesn't matter if the employee is a native chinese speaker or not...they are apathetic, don't know, or pretend they don't know about the item you are searching for and show then on your phone. When I come here, I'm usually buying the sauces, canned goods, chinese veggies, or "fresh noodles. I have a hard time communicating with the guys at the meat counter. Not bad at all for a very small Cantonese-Chinese local grocery market. From vegetables and fruits, to cooking ingredients and meats, they pretty much have it covered here. Free 1-hour street parking is all along the front side, especially on a Sunday morning after 10:30 AM. Definitely check them out if you're in the area. You cannot get cheaper snacks elsewhere around the SF Bay Area. You can easily find little snacks for much under $5 each. $1.99-$4.69 is a very good price range for snacks. $8.99 for instant breakfast package and sauces for under $4 can also be found inside. $1.99 per pack of flavorful spicy garlic peanuts are available if you are a snacker. Chinese Ramen is considered cheap in prices here. Take your time to look around. I like the selection of biscuits and cookies too. 99 Ranch and other larger chains charge $5-$6 for most snacks now. Flavors are very good and not all the flavors of potato chips here can be easily found in Hong Kong either. We asked family members in Hong Kong and they said the same. This is a small Asian market in the Millbrae business district.There is a group of striking Asian figurines near the cashier, including beckoning cats. There is a large selection of Asian snacks. There is a good selection of Japanese mocha and bean cakes here-- be sure to get one to go ! The drinks are plentiful here, including coffee and canned porridge. Makegeolli, sake, and other classic alcoholic drinks are available here. There is a probiotic yogurt from Japan that is similar to Yakult but is cheaper. read more

I was hoping to find a decent sized selection of Mochi, preferably the balls but didn't appear to be that much in the way of variety The majority of the store is frozen items, understandable I guess with having to import as well as one or two items from other Countries: Milo from Australia and Ovaltine from Europe. It is what it is folks. I come here mostly because it's more convenient for me that heading to Marina or Ranch 99, both near Foster City. Or when I need rice but don't want to head to Costco. For Japanese produce/ products, there is the small store on 4th street in San Mateo and Nijiya. We mostly come to buy Chinese vegetables which are usually fresh, abundant, and reasonably priced. Also, the occasional items like dried noodles, oyster sauce, Maggi, frozen bao. For a small store, it certainly packs a lot inside. (My dream is that some farmer will realized there is $$$ to be made and starting farming organic Asian veggies and selling that at the San Mateo famer's market.) read more

The service at the butcher store is horrible. I purchased the pork leg and asked butcher for help to take out the big bone in the middle, he is happy to help but the young Mexican butcher guy coming says no to the butcher while my pork leg lay on the machine already . Wtf wrong with him . I didn't asked him for help why he came to tell another butcher to stop my service. Not yet he also told me go go away .if you busy or whatever talk nicer to customers but not like that's. I have never been have this kind of service here before. Convenient small Chinese supermarket in Millbrae. Food and vegetables are always fresh and in good quality. You can find most of the chinese things here. During COVID-19 they only allow limited number of customers go in which is great - makes me feel safer. The workers here are always friendly too. It's like a mini-ranch 99. It has the bare necessities of vegs, fish, meats, dried imports, crackers, sauces, etc. Ive been shopping here for years. Recently, it has been getting more cramped walking through the aisles. I feel like they're trying to make a Costco/IKEA flow upon entering and exiting. There's an overflow of inventory, so they stack things next to each other. I purchased their veggies, brought it home. HOLY MOLY! You can smell the pesticide scent permeating once you take the veggies out of the bag!!!! I threw the vegs away. Awesome convenience of a Ranch 99 / Pacific Super (on a smaller scale) right here in Millbrae! I can picture myself coming here for the fresh live seafood, produce, and all the Asian items you need (at the last minute) without having to trek to South SF, Daly City, or Foster City... Their produce seemed very fresh (dragon fruit, lychee). Lots of different frozen goods (including Polly Ann's Ice Cream from SF). Prices seem comparable as well. Sun's market is newly opened in a new commercial strip on el camino. they're like a mini ranch 99 without the food court. there's a meat department, produce, asian groceries, seafood, frozen pastries, live seafood, etc. sampling: -calbee seaweed, salted chips(2.09) -calbee " hot & spicy" chips(2.09) hot & sspicy wasn't. tasted bland, made with palm oil and msg. seaweed chip more addictive -nissan miso flavored noodle(.59) brown looking broth didn't taste like miso foodnotes: -parking may be difficult with so many chinese restaurants around here. -no lines, not surprised at all. -food demo for guacamole dip, salsa, and fried tortilla chips here. huh? read more

I bought some Rainer cherries that were supposed to be $1.49 per pound. The box of the cherries says net weight 16 oz. So you'd think they're going to charge you according to what the box says... but no, she said to weigh the cherries with the box and charge extra. There were a few pissed people in line. One person in line told the cashier to weigh the cherries without the box. Turns out the owner told the cashiers do it. Totally unfair right? Sun's Market has spoiled meat, spoiled veggies and fruits, expired items... why not drive a little further and go to Pacific Market in South City, Manilla Market in Daly City or 99 Ranch in Foster City? At least it would be fresh and edible and reasonable elsewhere. Make sure you weigh your fruits or you'll be over charged! Two of these cherries cost $3.38 instead of $2.98. Oh yeah.. they were some sweet and some no flavor cherries... ripped off! Oh yeah... my aunt bought some frozen shrimp and it was spoiled and smelly... she brought it back for a refund or exchange and the lady said NO. What kind of shady business are they running? Hmm.... The market has been open almost two weeks. One of the first Asian Markets to open in Millbrae. Located on a side road of El Camino Real. Plenty of parking in the front now, but wait until the condos and other store fronts move in. The place is not to big, but enough to have produce, groceries, & meat and fish department. They have a self serve pre-package meats. I just wish they would start selling lean ground beef like all of the other Asian markets.
