This place is amazing! Really cool studio, relaxed, super clean, and all three artists have amazing work. I have interacted with all of them and would happily have any of them work on me. I have worked with Jesse for a majority of my tattoos at this point. He is amazingly attentive and has the exact style I was looking for in an artist. Insulted/Disrespected. My name is Sen-Sei: first name Sen, last name Sei. There's a "-" between the two. Attempted to schedule a meet-up with the owner LEIF GOLDRICK to discuss getting a cover-up. He asked for my name via email, and I provided several times. He then sent me an email saying... "I'm sorry, but I think I'll pass. I asked nicely a couple of times and don't like going in circles. I get that you've got a schtick and you're trying to rep your brand, but we'd be engaging in a contract to do a surgery for permanent skin alteration, and I like to know who I'm dealing with. Even if it says 'Sen-Sei' on your driver's license, I couldn't seriously see myself calling anyone that after watching so much Cobra Kai with my kids. It's a title that I'd take seriously for someone who had taken on a solid role of teacher or mentor in my life, not just anyone that asked me to. Nothing personal, but I've been trying to do less cover-ups lately anyway." ---- Totally offended, since my legal name isn't a "schtick". He could've also addressed me as "Sen". I have to say, I have quite a few different tattoos and have been to different shops throughout the state of WA. But, this tattoo shop is absolutely hands-down the best parlor I have been to. Not only were they quick to reply when inquiring about a piece for my partner and I, but Leif was able to get us set up with Jonathan pretty quickly. Jonathan was able to give helpful feedback on placement and get us booked for our appointment. When we arrived for our appointment, Leif and Jonathon greeted us quickly and offered refreshments. Jonathan was able to get through our tattoos rather quickly and with such efficiency, while also being an artist who can share a little bit about his life and experiences (which were so valuable to hear). 10/10 recommend for new or experienced tattoo patients! read more

My husband made an appointment with Leif for me for my birthday (Great Birthday gift idea BTW) I had many friends who have gone to Leif and his work is hands down some of the most beautiful pieces I have seen (You can find them on Instagram @ Luntictattoo along with the other tattoo artists (Danielle and Jesse both with beautiful work) I did have to wait 9 mos cause he was all booked up, but Man oh Man he was well worth the wait! I am definitely apprehensive to share a good thing but this is more to share my appreciation for Leif! Leif was professional, he booked an initial appointment for me to sit down and talk about what I wanted, sharing with him my ideas and ultimately telling him I wanted his personal ideas and art to show in the tattoo and he did not disappoint, he drew up the most beautiful Medusa tattoo that I am now obsessed with staring at. Leif sent emails and follow up emails as things changed or he had questions so his communication was on point. During my actual Tattoo Leif had a "Soft and gentle hand" and the tattoo didn't hurt at all.. only kidding, it hurt but he made the experience great! I generally pass out with shots/needles as a natural reaction my body has, Leif was aware of this and kept the conversation going, offered candy, made sure I kept talking and breathing and this is the first time in 35 years my body did not react which I assume is due to Leifs skills and awareness. Leif was professional but funny, engaging and polite and overall was one of the best experiences I have had while undergoing pain. Lunatic Tattoo is the only place I will go for a tattoo for now on! The shop is super clean, chill, great atmosphere and well designed studio. I've gotten 3 tattoos with Leif (one was a cover-up tattoo), and he hits it out of the park every time. You can't even tell the cover-up I got is a cover-up, which I wasn't sure was even possible! His books are pretty full, but that's because he's a great artist and is well worth the wait! Leif really listens to what art design you want and brings it to life! His massive artistic and technical ability speaks for itself as you look at his body of work but his willingness to listen and adapt and make you feel heard all while taking your vision to a whole other level makes him even more rare and valuable. His long wait times for an appointment are testament to his quality but is well worth the wait in my opinion. The shop was extremely clean, and the COVID protocols in place made the whole experience feel more personal than ever. Look no further if you are seeking the very best tattoo place around. My son wanted a tattoo for his 18th birthday, and I did a little poll on Facebook to see who my friends would recommend. Lunatic Tattoo was the top recommendation. My son and I met with Danielle about a month before the appointment and she was WONDERFUL. So thorough! She showed him pictures of the aging process with tattoos, explained skin as an organ and how his tattoo could change with time, etc. My son really liked her and that was very important! She did his tattoo and it is beyond perfect. I chatted with her while she worked and she is just a delight, so funny and sweet. And her work! It is just what he wanted. I'm not surprised to see that this shop has a five star rating. Recommended by someone I trust and with reasonable expectations I contacted Leif via email with a very difficult cover up. He returned my email that night and set me up quickly with my consultation. Being a sought after artist there was a couple month wait to get my tattoo as it was a few hour venture. He had a cancellation and even offered to get me in a couple weeks early! Even with limited tattoo experience I know any artist who is booked 3 months out is worth the wait and I was absolutely right! My tattoo is in a relatively private area and as a plus sized woman I felt nervous about being vulnerable. I was immediately put at ease and was able to forget that my big pasty white crack was hanging out as we had interesting and relaxing conversation. I felt like Leif enjoyed creating my art and that is important to me as this is here for life. Anyone looking for epic work by an amazing and versatile artist should make an appointment and keep it!
