Lunch and super is a great spot in Scott's addition. Very fun vibe with a great menu full of southern classics. Wait staff is always friendly and helpful. Great cocktails too. They also have a fun outdoor area with picnic tables and yard games. The biggest down side is that it is pretty small for such a popular place, so you almost always have to wait for a table. read more

This is honestly my favorite brunch place in Richmond. If I had my way we would be here every Sunday, but alas my husband wants the opportunity to try an abundance of restaurants in Richmond. The last time we came here was for my birthday and I indulged in a cheeseburger omelette and a couple of mimosas, perfect 40th birthday breakfast. My son always gets the same thing and that is the pasture to pen and he raves about it. I've had the grits and they are not bad but I wouldn't rave about them. The biscuits on the other hand are delicious. My husband adores the Krispy Kreme bread pudding and I've tried a bite and it was definitely yummy. read more

We got the Crab and artichoke dip w jalapeños (sadly only had 3 jalapeño rings as a garnish) we asked for more and they arrived quickly the pita points served with this appetizer were delicious! Loved the appetizer! For Supper I ordered the appetizer special Pork Belly with ginger and smoked peppers ! OMG IT WAS FREAKING DELICIOUS! I added a side of Brussels and I'm gonna say they stole someone's great grandmothers recipe for some dang good home Cooke cabbage but used Brussels! I realize there's a pandemic going on, and I'm more than willing to cut restaurants some slack, but we were recently disappointed with our experience here on a Sunday night. Outdoor seating is ample and heated, which is great, but the service was lackluster. There were plenty of servers around, but no one seemed interested in making eye contact for a second drink or app order. I had a whiskey cocktail that was so sweet and generic it could have been any liquor with any simple syrup rather than the vanilla infused concoction with bitters that was promised. My husband's sandwich was advertised as served on a challah bun; it came on a hamburger bun that tasted like it had been in and out of a freezer. My "special" kale and butternut squash salad was a small, flavorless pile of mush. The draft beer was good, the fried oysters were decent, and the collards were great. The bathroom was absolutely filthy; a detail I would have noticed less pre-pandemic. We are desperate for outdoor dining so we may be back but will stick to beer and snacks. read more

I never thought I'd wait 105 minutes for a table and say it was totally worth it, but it was! The ferryman flatiron was one of the most delicious things I've ever eaten. The fried chicken was also amazing and cooked to perfection. Crab dip appetizer and pulled pork pancakes were amazing as well! I would drive back to Richmond just for this meal. My best friend and I tried this place out after seeing it had great reviews and it was def delicious. I had just plain French toast with potatoes and scrambled egg with cheese. The only feedback I will give is the egg was more like a fried piece of egg with a slice of cheddar cheese overtop. Which was unusual, i ask for cheese in my eggs everywhere I go and they always have it scrambled throughout the cheese. I also enjoyed the fizzy Izzy drink and that was great as well. The food was pretty good! I forgot what the name of the appetizer that I got, but It was pretty decent. It had a pimento cheese dip which was really sweet which I was hoping It would be spicy. The portions was pretty big! I got the salmon 366 and that was delicious and ended up being full. My seat was taken when I went to the bathroom, the customer who took it was very rude and difficult, I went to a different seat, but didn't get any silverware or water. The food was not very good and the portions were small. It doesn't seem like the kind of place that would have small portions like that. The hash browns were burned and very little, the pulled pork was also a little burned, the poached eggs looked nice, as in they had good presentation, but they were just ok. There was also very little hollandaise sauce. The waitress/bartender (I was sitting at the bar) was nice, but that just doesn't make up for the rest of my experience. read more

I was visiting Richmond and had my 2 dogs with me so I was looking for a place where they could come with me. I was lured by the great reviews and the menu. But sitting out on the patio with all the growing plants...beans, and tomatoes, and greens, and strawberries to name a few, was really a treat. I came to gardening late in life but I really love it and I love getting a peak at developing plants. It was so lovely. The food was also delicious, I had crab cake eggs benedict. I loved it. We traveled to Richmond for the weekend to check it out and really enjoyed eating here. The food was great and the shrimp was fresh. We started with the Imperial Crab Dip and it was very tasty! The pita bread was some of the best I've had! The kids enjoyed the bacon Mac and cheese, my husband got the pulled pork sandwich, and I enjoyed the aviator salad with shrimp. Wow wow wow. I cannot believe I have gone so long without this food in my life!! My husband and I went this morning for a late breakfast and it left us speechless!! I had the bowl with pulled pork, egg, hash brown and cheese. It was so delicious! The pulled pork was unbelievably flavorful. My husband had The Jersey Shore. He grew up in NJ eating pork roll and said that this sandwich was the best pork roll sandwich he's had in his whole life. It was cut thick with amazing Challah bread and egg and cheese. They grow their own food! Fresh and delicious. Like eating at Meemaw's. They had a ginger tea that blew my socks off. I want a glass every day for a lil extra pep in my step. Space was tight, but still plenty of personal space. Just avoid sitting at the bar unless you come without belongings. Really enjoyed the food here. Came in on Friday night around 7pm. I went into the LUNCH side, which was very small...and hot. We initially sat at the bar, but it was entirely too cramped. Thankfully a table opened up quickly! We started with the CRAB DIP. Holy sea creatures-this was delish! 5 STARS. It was creamy and decadent with a generous amount of crab. There was a perfect portion of well-seasoned pita bread on the side. If you come, get this! I ordered SAUER'S GARDEN. It had several veggies stuffed inside flat bread with a basil pesto and provolone cheese. I thought it had nice flavor, but the pesto could've been better. I also found a rogue piece of beef in my sandwich. I'm not vegetarian; however, I could foresee serious issues if I was! 3.5-4 STARS My sandwich came with kettle chips and I decided to try the BACON MAC 'N CHEESE as well. Yummaaaayyyy! Creamiest of creamy mac 'n cheesy-ness. I could eat a bucket full! I loved it! 5 STARS I ended the evening with SOUTHERN MESS. It was a lava cake with vanilla ice cream, caramel and fudge, topped with "bacon dust." I really enjoyed this very much! 4 STARS I didn't try my friends FRENCH DIP but he said he loved it a lot. So Good!!! We showed up brunch with a party of 6 at noon on Saturday. They were packed with quite a few people already waiting outside. We were told the wait was only 20 minutes. That was quite accurate as the hostess was doing a really nice job keeping order and getting people seated. I do think they could have used a few more staff for bussing and bartending, but everyone was doing a great job. The mimosas and bloody Mary's were delicious and quite cheap ($3 I think). To eat I had the breakfast quesadilla with sausage. I ate the leftovers for lunch the next day and I still thought it was one of the best quesadillas I have ever eaten. My husband ordered some kind of biscuit/sausage/egg deliciousness that was then smothered with sausage gravy. Can't wait to give dinner a try next time. read more
