It's literally the only place you can sit with your traveler before security and even though they are scheduled to be open u til 600P they would not seat us at 535 because they "were closing". How wonderful to be back at Hollywood Burbank International Airport. The whole place still astounds me .....fantastic parking opportunities, yes pricey of course, but you know like the old saying goes ...."good things no cheap cheap things no good". I cannot tell you how much I love coming here ....and why not.... it is time to fly out and take a break from life ...but before I do that, I need some coffee.... so I came here to the Lunch Box, inside the airport terminal. I was served by Aylin who was extremely gracious, very welcoming and provided superior care and high class customer service ....for my coffee, which I must say was nicely, piping hot and was refilled in my opinion, dumping the leftovers and putting in a fresh cup or a fresh set up...either way, it was superb. This review is long overdue - been flying out of Burbank airport for years and I almost always grab a meal here before heading through security - especially if it's breakfast! Their food is surprisingly excellent for an airport restaurant. Everything I've tried has been great - and their portions are massive! Their breakfasts absolutely rock! They have great eggs Benedict - that they serve with regular bacon and topped with a light gravy instead of hollandaise- it's fabulous! They almost always cook the eggs perfectly for that runny yolk too. It comes with home style potatoes and either toast or a pancake. I usually get the toast but this time I opted to try a pancake- it was absolutely HUGE! Bigger than my head haha! But I didn't care for the texture - unfortunately was very rubbery - so I'll stick with toast from now on. I've tried their avocado toast and chicken fried steak breakfasts- both are also excellent. My husband loves their veggie frittata and their omelettes. And for lunches, their quesadillas are absolutely delicious - I love them! Oh and the coffee is ok - not my fave but not terrible. They have regular and flavored creamers so that makes up for it lol. It's always hot and the refills are free. Staff are friendly and somewhat attentive. It can be hit or miss sometimes. Service can be a tad slow, even if they aren't busy so leave yourself extra time. The vibe is very casual and comfy - they have tables but also a bar area and you're surrounded by TVs playing any kind of sports shows you could imagine. They have an updated menu now (as of my last visit March 2023) with updated prices. Their prices used to be fairly reasonable for an airport restaurant- now I'd say they're what you'd expect to pay at an airport restaurant- definitely a bit higher than normal. But the quality and quantity is decent so I'll probably still eat here anytime I'm flying out of Burbank. read more

I had a terrible experience at Lunch Box in Burbank Airport. My server, was extremely rude and overcharged me for my order. When I tried to explain what happened, the manager immediately took her side without even being there when it happened. The manager kept repeating, "That's what you ordered, that's the customer's fault," even though I explained multiple times how the mistake occurred. I told the server exactly what I wanted, and she kept saying, "Unfortunately, I can't..." and making excuses. I order the same thing every time with other servers, and it's always been perfectly fine. The server even said, "Well, those servers do it wrong," which just shows how inconsistent and poorly trained the staff are. The manager wasn't present during any of this but spoke as if she was there. I pointed that out, yet she chose to believe whatever the server told her after she went into her office and twisted the story. Instead of hearing both sides, the manager instantly took her word and acted like I was the problem. The server stood right next to her trying not to laugh completely unprofessional. Then the manager actually told me, "Next time you should learn how to properly order." Who talks to a paying customer like that? I even left a tip, yet they made me feel like I was in the wrong for speaking up about being overcharged!! This place has zero professionalism or training. I had to ask for my receipt which they didn't give me until I requested it and that's when I noticed the overcharge. I've been charged around $9 and change for this same order in the past, but this time it was $18 and change. Total scam. I won't be returning here. Burbank Airport needs to do better you can't hire rude, uneducated, untrained people and expect decent service. The management here sets a terrible example. I didn't expect much from this place inside Burbank airport. I ordered the Chinese chicken salad which turned out to be quite delicious especially the chicken! The lettuce they use is iceberg which became soggy after soaking in the delicious dressing. Romain or Napa cabbage could be a good substitute. read more

If I could give this place -minus 5 stars I would. I had a breakfast sandwich here a week ago in the early morning. It was supposed to be a Panini, but it was not a Panini. It just showed up like a regular sandwich, which was fine, I was hungry, But I only ate half of it thankfully. I got on an airplane and I had a layover in Las Vegas. When I got off the airplane in Las Vegas, my stomach was at its worst. I've never been so ill. I've been ill for a week. What a little gem! We stopped for lunch before a flight and we're really glad we did. The staff are super friendly and the menu is large. It reminded me of a diner. The food was delicious! I enjoyed the Wet Chicken Burrito with a giant cup of hot tea. If you're in a hurry, keep that in mind. 4/5: Onion Rings - better than everything else we ate 2/5: Chophouse Burger - just okay 2/5: Red Wet Carne Asada Burrito - "charred green onion, pasilla black beans, cheddar cheese & spanish rice". The spanish rice is not very detectable in the burrito, but the mixed vegetables in it were. That was kind of weird in a burrito. The red sauce was mediocre at best. I decided to try an airport restaurant when I got to the airport two hours before my flight. This place was empty on a Wednesday afternoon. I walked up to the podium and was greeted right away.The hostess asked if I would like to sit down . I asked to see the menu and she immediately told me to take my time and let her know if I would like to sit. I looked over the menu and decided to try a sandwich. My expectations weren't high because the restaurant was sort of an old school sports type bar/ restaurant.It was a little outdated with the furniture. I was greeted by the waitress. I asked her if she had iced tea and immediately told me she would bring me one. I ordered a turkey club sandwich which comes with house made chips. The food came out in 10 min and I was pleasantly surprised. The sandwich was big enough for two to share. The food was excellent, service was even more excellent. I would definitely recommend if your traveling through Burbank Airport and need to grab a good meal stop and try Lunchbox you won't be disappointed. TLDR; Okay place to get decent food at airport prices. Because Spirit Airlines doesn't have an online way to buy multiple seats for the same person I had to go the the Hollywood/Burbank (Bob Hope) airport to buy the tickets in person. The counter person didn't know how to do it and asked if I could come back in 45 minutes. Putting aside that this would cost more for parking I said okay and got lunch at the one sit-down restaurant on this side of the security checkpoint. The lunchbox is pretty large, but only the first section with about 15 tables was open. I opened their online menu and found a burger that I could buy. The service was great. I was directed to an available table right away and they got my drink order going in about 5 minutes. Tip: It's a Pepsi establishment which was ideal with me so I got a diet Pepsi and ordered the chop house burger. It comes with fries, but I ordered mine with onion rings. The wait was a little longer than I figured it should be with the small number of customers so I wouldn't expect to grab a quick bite before a flight, but it's fine if you've arrived a couple hours ahead of time and want to get something to eat before you board your plane. However, there are other places to eat on the other side of the security gate so it's up to you. The burger was fine. Nothing special and the bottom was a little burned. I, however, like that so it was good for me. The order was wrong and it came with fries, but I didn't really care and hunkered down to eat it. There some sort of sauce on it which keeps it moist, but doesn't intrude on the flavor of the burger. The waitress noticed about three-fourths of the way through my meal that it was wrong and brought the onion rings without my having to say anything. She also refilled my drink while I was visiting the men's room. Everyone was friendly and so I'd say the service is very good. It was pretty much what I expected and I don't have any complaints especially because the error was corrected without me having to say anything. I've flown out of this airport many times and never dined here. Not sure if I would again just because the prices (about $25 for a burger with fries and a soda) seem steep. The time for food prep makes it someplace I probably wouldn't want to chance before a flight so there's not a lot of reasons to eat here, but there really isn't anything bad to say about it. read more

So I peered into this place (airport restaurant??), and saw that they quite a few TV's, so I gave it a shot. I ordered a kale, chicken, cranberries salad and hoped for the best. I realized that this was a very good sign - if employees were eating here, than the food couldn't be that bad. My salad came, and wow. It was a huge salad, everything looked fresh, and the chicken was even warm. It was a salad I would expect at a very nice restaurant. It was delicious! My only complaint was, that it took quite a long time to get it - but it was worth the wait.
