Tom's crew redid our backyard irrigation; tore out old lawn, scraped, leveled and added new topsoil and put down fresh sod. They redid our wonky side yard and added river rock and gravel where needed. I can't believe how hard his crew worked to make the slopes just right and get our formerly ankle-breaking yard into newly tip top shape. I'm so pleased with their work, I break out into the biggest smile when I look outside! Worth every penny, and he stuck to his quote- no up charges. I got two other quotes and his was best and he made suggestions on how we could save money. They even installed a temporary fence to keep the dogs out while the sod takes hold. We had interviewed multiple landscaping companies and ended up with Tom and his crew. We recently purchased a new home and tore out 100% of the landscaping and installed astroturf and new flower beds. We could not be happier with how it turned out. Our backyard is shaded by big trees. Grass was never going to grow back there. Tom brought in astroturf and it looks amazing. The backyard is now very private, green year round and lush looking. It does not look fake. I'm so happy with my yard from Tom's crew. We had artificial turf installed, a concrete pad for a hot tub, new bark laid, and trees/bushes planted. I vaguely knew what I wanted, but didn't fully have the vision of how I wanted it to be designed. Tom worked with my ideas, my budget, and helped me come up with something I was really happy with. I also have to add that Candace was great to work with. She was quick to respond back to questions and had great communication throughout the entire quote and execution. Working with landscapers or contractors you often don't get quick responses, however Candace handled everything and made it all a great experience. From a pricing perspective, the turf was in line - a bit lower - than other quotes I received. I have a very unique property in that everything had to be hauled in and out via wheelbarrow up and down a hill. So I know there was significantly more labor involved in my project than an average project. The cement price was significantly lower than other quotes I'd received. Overall the project was very reasonable and incredibly competitive, but the quality hands down top notch. It's rainy, foggy, and gloomy. They are very professional and respectful. They clean up their workspace each evening before leaving. Our project took 5 full days to complete, and was completed within the time-frame quoted by Tom. The owner came out to look at the scope of work and gave a quote on the spot that was 4x the cost of 5 other companies. He exaggerated the scope of work necessary while making small talk as if we were friends. I don't appreciate manipulation tactics, it gives the impression of untrustworthiness. Despite my questions and concerns raised, he did not indicate the equipment he planned to utilize or give any assurance that a property fence would not be damaged during the job. The impression given was he was used to dealing with millionaires who don't mind paying 4x the average cost for debris cleanup with 90% of the work being along roads with very little interior work. If the job was undesirable for him, he simply should have said so rather than test the waters. I made my choice to go with another company. read more

I literally dread choosing any contractor. It's a lot of money and a big gamble. I have had average experiences in the past bordering on bad. Luong's has been by far the very best experience we have ever had with a contractor. He was a breath of fresh air. A true professional. He had the best price, but I was so happy with him i would have paid more for the same experience. His team cleaned up after themselves every night, and he exceeded every single promise he made. He built is an incredible fountain, fire pit, retaining wall, laid pavers and put in an amazing lighting system. He came to check on his crew everyday. They worked Saturdays to get the job done. Our project took over a month with 3-4 guys coming everyday. We are going to have him put in a deck etc next. Thank you.. I have posted a before and after. I hired them to do yard maintenance for my yard, which includes a lot of shrubs and trees. During the first year they pruned back so many plants, including a lot of ferns, to the point that they died. Over time, it became clear that the agreement to maintain shrubs and trees really meant, as my neighbors put it, "Mow, blow and go". And, boy do these guys love their gas powered blowers! By the time I finally let them go, so much of the soil from my yard had been blown elsewhere that it was practically a desert. Communication with the person actually doing the yard work to ask them to do more than "mow, blow and go" was frowned upon by the people running the front office. Communication was only desired if it had to do with payment, which for "mow, blow and go", was prohibitively expensive. They had been pruning trees for me prior to doing regular service, and after getting a quote, agreeing to it, then I waited and waiting, reminded them, and no pruning was ever done. Now that I am again doing my own yard service my yard looks much healthier and happier-- not a desert with all life blown away from the surface. I'm using an actual arborist for the trees and shrubs, and it also really makes a difference having someone that knows what they are doing do the work. I would not recommend these people for doing anything. read more

We moved into a brand new house with a back yard that was nothing but a basic patio slab and mulch. Tom was able to take our vague desires (artificial turf and more patio) and also our vague likes and dislikes regarding plants and create a back yard space that is beautiful and perfect for our needs. The guys showed up when they were supposed to, on time and worked all day, even in the pouring rain and cleaned up after each shift. They are very skilled and knew what they were doing. We have a new construction home and there was basically a sloped mud pit in the backyard. I gave Tom a design. He went over a few changes with me that were better suited to the lay of the land and they put it in just like the plan. It came out beautifully! Mr. Luong responded quickly to my request for a bid. I sent an e-mail to the business, and received a call from both the scheduler and Mr. Luong himself. Next day, at the appointed time, Mr. Luong arrived, surveyed the job's scope, and gave me a very reasonable quote for the services I had in mind. He was careful to indicate that the work would require a great deal of hand-clipping, and that aspect contributed to the bid. Having done this work myself for more than twenty years, I was well aware of the meticulous attention the yard requires. And, of course, my standards of care are high given that I personally planted every tree, shrub, and annual flower. Toms crew came out in the morning. With their excavator, they expertly removed about 70 scraggly 40+ year old arborvitaes. These "trees" were very close to the fence. By the end of the day, to our amazement (and our neighbors too), they had replaced them with new, beautiful and equal sized arborvitaes. We have used Tom twice for complete front and back garden landscaping - both at our old house and at the new house we just bought. He did an amazing and a very affordable job both times - including water feature, tropical island landscaping, lighting, pavers, irrigation system, etc. He returned promptly to make any minor adjustments needed, he was flexible to our change in plans, and he complimentarily replaced any plants that didn't do well upon plantation. He also has an awesome eye for design, we weren't sure what would look best and he basically designed it all for us. He was also honest and advices us against things we wanted to do that wouldn't look good or would last well / be easy to maintain. I saw the great reviews for this outfit and called them up. I was only having them do a smallish job(clean out old flower beds and lay new bark dust) but Tom was enthusiastic about it. They quoted me a surprising low number for the work and I agreed. One of Tom's guys showed up a touch early at the agreed time, which was great. He really busted his ass off. A little bit over a year ago I hired them to do a small job: trim 5 trees and 4 shrubs. They skipped 3 trees and a shrub and badly pruned a maple. I asked for a partial refund for the incomplete work and he refused to give it saying he preferred to do the work this year. I looked at the results of his work and decided I did not want him in the yard again. I hired a landscaper who took care of the same trees and shrubs by hand pruning and charged a fraction of what Luong charged. read more

Back in early spring of 2019, we reached out to this company to help us with backyard landscaping. It was not a big job, and the price quoted was much higher than expected, however they were referred by a neighbour so we went ahead. The crew showed up as agreed, however the Foreman attempted to receive payment before the work was completed and atempted to skirt some of the expectations per the agreement we made with them on work that would be done. Yes - I had to argue with him to get all of the work done that was promised per the quote. The summer following the work being done in 2019, one of the large trees they planted died. The contact in the office of the company promised that Tom would reach out to me to take a look and schedule a replacement, however Tom never reached out to me, even after dozens of attempts ( This is not an exaggeration I have the emails). When the rainy season began we realised that our yard had turned into a swamp due to the work done by the landscapers - Their installations had made it such that the lawn could no longer drain properly. When I spoke to the Foreman about this he dismissed my concerns How about this issue, so we hired another company at great expense to remedy the problem so that we could once again walk on our back lawn. After an inquiry last week and another one this week about the dead tree that were again ignored by the foreman, I have decided I should share my experience with anyone considering hiring this company. read more
