I don't know why the reviews for this place are low but it seems that they mostly revolve around service, we went on a Sunday for breakfast around 10:30am and they were not very crowded. We were seated within 5 minutes and the waiter was very nice. We ordered chilaquiles, pumpkin spice pancakes, breakfast burrito and carnita Benedict. They were all delicious. Burrito was huge and half of it came home. It was my husband's birthday and the staff came and sang and gave him a free flan which was also delicious. Worst experience ever, terrible service and a terrible manager. I went in today and orderd food to go. They said, no problem it would be about a half an hour so I ordered, paid and waited in the bar. After half an hour went by I checked in and they said it would be ready soon. A half hour after that checked in again, and they said soon again. After an hour and a half I asked for a manager and he said they were really busy. I said that's fine, tell me it'll be over an hour and half wait before I order, and he just said "Sorry". I got fed up and tried to cancel my order... and then the box of to go food showed up. I was so pissed off I just picked up my food and left. And when I got home... stone cold. The unprofessional jerks must have just forgotten my order somewhere in the back. I have always loved Lupe's Tortilla but this branch has truly horrible management. read more

I'm not sure why people enjoy their fajitas here because the pieces of meat are super small and the portions are crap for the exorbitant price. Decided to give this location another shot since I'd heard they had new management and goodness I didn't think it could get any worse than before. Well Ashley topped that statement. Let's just say they gave a child an alcoholic beverage, the managing partner Tim confirmed after tasting it himself, and Ashley poorly tried to deny it happened or that he said it although he repeated it to the sheriff. We've gone to this restaurant for years. Love the food, but have noticed a serious decline in service. Tonight topped it off for us. We ordered chips and Queso and nachos. Took us nearly 20 minutes to get drinks with chips and Queso. After 35 additional minutes, and out nachos still had not arrived, we decided to give them 8 more minutes to bring our food. Still no food. So, we left money for our drinks and Queso and walked out. On the way out, we saw the manger and told him about how we left the money for what we ate, but did not intend to pay for the food we never received. He never apologized. Per what the manager told me, I'm going to place the negative review towards Corporate. This consolidation of efforts, meaning, serve all the guests in the same area at the same time, is not going to work. We had to wait for paper towels, wait for straws, didn't get refills all because the wait person was trained to bring everything out in a consolidated way. We had to go searching for paper towels and straws. I shared my thoughts with the manager. He asked did my concerns transpire after he inquired. I didn't want to hurt any feelings so I initially said everything was ok. However, when the issue became pervasive, I decided to offer best practices. This is when he said this is a corporate directive. Well, my best practice to corporate is, customers deserve individual service as they pay individually. Just not the same. We usually eat at the location on 249 and today we just happened to be on this side of town. Salsa and beans were extra peppercorn spicy to where I was continuously sneezing. Service was average but could have been better or at least more attentive. We changed our minds about dessert because we couldn't find our waiter and got tired of waiting. My three pepper steak was okay but I was a little bit disappointed because I told her to tell the cook that when I say medium rare I mean medium rare, not medium. And certainly not medium well. Food is always excellent. However, the management is ridiculously awful. I ordered fajitas for one. I received a POUND. Instead of just changing the price, my server took the majority of my food back and I was left with an adjusted tab. I don't eat that much so I always have left overs. I asked for a manager and she tried to argue with me that I ate more than half of the POUND they brought. She said if I wanted more then I had to pay for it. She offered that I speak to her supervisor and I accepted her offer. Waited a while. No supervisor ever came out but she returned to give me a side of fajita meat in a To Go box. Why was I having to argue with a manager at all? Like back in forth with a little kid. It's ridiculous. I'm not sure why I was made to feel like it's my fault the server messed up. No apology. There may have been two other people sitting at the bar as well. One bartender. Service sucked. He got my order wrong the first time. He got it wrong the second time. Forgot to bring the charro beans. We remained calm & patient though. I could have understood the confusion if the bar had been packed. But there were only two other people there. I wasn't impressed with the Charro beans. They were spicier than usual. Appeared to have a lot of jalapeños. They either changed the recipe or they have a new cook. This place used to be good. The place wasn't busy for a Sunday at 6 pm. Because we had a party for 10, we waited 30 minutes for a table. I'm OK with that, since this location won't do call ahead seating, the other locations do. The food took way to long to come out and it wasn't hot, burrito's were still a little warm, but seemed like it had been sitting for awhile, the quesadilla had to be sent back as some of the cheese wasn't even melted, some pieces had no chicken, the others were a joke, the manager agreed with that, he called it "unacceptable" Drinks took 20-25 minutes and the bar was just about empty of people. I got us on the waitlist here at 6:15 and was told the wait would be 15-20 minutes. 50 minutes later we finally got seated. Had to go back to the hostess stand twice to ask for a high chair. Our waitress was the worst we've ever had. Other tables with the same number of people as us in our section got seated after us and got their food and we're out of the restaurant before everyone at our table even got their food. Orders were submitted wrong. Waitress was rude, and rarely came by our table. The beef fajitas were beyond burned. There was char on 1 side of beef. Our children were losing it. Had to wait 15-20 minutes for a table - which doesn't seem uncommon on a weekend. While waiting, I went to use the men's room and I saw why...probably 40-50% of the tables needed to be bussed (cleared, cleaned and made ready for new customers). Then we waited 5+ minutes to be greeted by a waiter, 10-15 minutes for chips and salsa, and probably 20-30 minutes for our food (fajitas, kids Mac & Cheese, and two ala carte cheese enchiladas). I know service industries are having trouble getting and keeping staff, but someone at Lupe Tortilla needs to wake up. You all are a Texas original and one of the few non-corporate sell outs. Also, because it was our first time they brought out a lovely and DELICIOUS taco sampler! So cute! I loved the salsa to start!!! It was a very good medium salsa. Decided to give it a shot and was very happy I did. Warm greeting from at least 3 people right from the start and extremely inviting when you walk in. Our waiter asked if we have been here before we said no and he said we were in for a real treat well I'll be the judge of that thanks. He brought us a sample of 3 small steak fajitas which were so delicious that's what I ordered so good. The salsa was more of a pico de gallo style which I appreciate I like salsa more chunky than runny. I was happy to see a good selection of seafood and multiple choices of salsa for the free chips. I have been coming to Lupe Tortilla for a VERY long time. It was major selling point to get me to move cross country to TX. With that said let me add this. NOT ALL LUPE's ARE CREATED EQUAL. I have been to several locations and some are under different ownership. So you have two different frequency cards for separate locations. Back to them not being equal there are times (like my last visit) where food is amazing. Makes you wish you ordered the pound of steak fajitas instead of the 1/2 pound. And on the flip side of the coin the food is sometimes off. The charro beans are watery and bland. The fajitas are underwhelming at best. But the time when they knock it out of the park are the reason I come back again and again. All in all. Good service. Great food and sometimes long waits. I didn't even know they served Brunch. Went with my daughter Saturday morning for Brunch on a recommendation from a friend. My daughter ordered strawberry pan cakes and I ordered the three puerquitos omelet. Chips and salsa were provided while we waited. Presentation of the meal was excellent and arrived in a timely manner. To our surprise the both meals tasted excellent we have been to many places in Cypress and this is firmly on our top places to go for breakfast. Ordered Lupe for a Mother's Day lunch I hosted. Ordered package 3. Comes with chicken & beef fajitas. I added their fall off the bone ribs, juicy shrimp and beef enchiladas. Everything was delicious. Only reason I give 4 stars is because, the organization was not the best when I called it in the day before. Maybe because everyone had the same idea so it was busy. I repeated my order about 3x.
