Me and my aunt came on a whim and this place seemed a little sketchy when you first look at it. The three and a half Stars kind of scared us but we were so hungry we were willing to try it. The inside of this place is actually pretty cool and it was packed even around 9 p.m. on a Friday. I ordered the fish tacos and my aunt ordered the pork fajitas. So, we (6 of us) arrived around 11:45.am. We placed our order before 12:00pm. minutes after, a group (A) of 3 sat at table next to us. Several minutes later another couple (B) sat down at another table next us. Around 12:30 group A got their food then minutes after that group B got their food. At this point I got up and spoke to the manager (Arturo Sanchez). I ask him how do you they place the orders: by order number or by race? He explained to me the other two groups got their order first due to the complex of our food choices. Which I thought that was BS. We had menudo, street tacos and the children had pancakes and eggs. So mr Sanchez lied about placing orders by order number. They place orders depending on how complex the order is. It was quite obvious what was going on. This is common amongst Mexican owned businesses. We got our first order around 1 hour later. We got our last order after 1:00 pm ( 2 eggs and 1 pancake). Pretty difficult order. After waiting over an hour we decided to get up and and we ended up paying for only 3 plates. Poor service. And I give the food a hard 7. I truly believe race is not important but it was quite obvious whom mr Sanchez caters to or maybe it's how poorly he runs his restaurant. Never again I will step foot in that restaurant. Take a look at your receipt next time you're here, and look at the line that says taxes and fees. Don't be fooled into thinking only taxes are calculated here. You're being hit hard with a fee over and above the taxes. Shady business practice. Shady shady shady. They are trying to cover their charge for the credit card transaction so they don't have to fork the bill, and pass it onto you as the customer. And if you go for lunch you'll get complementary queso. But if you're in a large group of eight like we were, they will expect all eight people to eat out of that one tiny shot glass size of queso. They don't seem to use the same excuse that every little business used for this Corvid era I called it. They still come through with the same great service I've grown to expect. Very disappointed, went last week and spent $100 on 3 meals, chili con queso (yucky) and 2 of the most awful margaritas on the rocks I have ever tasted. I'll start with the first man that came to our table. He spoke so slowly and softly that we couldn't understand him. Almost like he was intentionally mumbling. Then I heard drinks so we gave him our drink order. He brought chips that were on the verge of being stale and salsa which was just ok but very bland. Margaritas were gross, lemon water on a full glass of ice with no resemblance of being a margarita at all and costs $8 each. The waiter was in a great hurry, spoke fast and wasn't friendly. The food arrived barely warm, but the rice and beans were cold and hard, couldn't eat. The charro beans were beyond awful. My bowl had 2 white beans swimming in light brown liquid, strange flavor, "huge" chunks of bell pepper, onions, and fatty bacon, couldn't eat. Enchiladas were also swimming in a brownish red sauce served with nasty refried beans that looked like they were refried 10 times and hard cold rice. Mixed fajitas did come sizzling but again NO seasoning, no flavor, over cooked, with a lot of onions. Ambiance, very loud. Large TVs on every wall playing sports and the wooden chair legs scraping the concrete floors constantly was almost unbearable. We left most of our food and drinks behind and got out of there as soon as we could pay the bill. We were never asked how our food was or thanked for coming or even told have a good night. They know they can do better but choose to cut costs by serving old, cold, flavorless nasty drinks and food. Don't waste your time and money going here. Overall quality is decent while certain areas are slightly lacking. Food: The full order of quesadilla is slightly smaller than I would have expected for the price but the quality is great. Lots of cheese and a good amount of chicken. Served with quac (just mashed avocado, no tomatoes or anything fancy) and sour cream. Definitely what you want in a quesadilla, simple and savory. Also ordered some kind of chicken breast concoction that was recommended by the waiter. It was chicken breast with veggies, cheese, guac, rice, beans, and pico. The chicken breast was pounded super thin but surprisingly was not dry and had a lot of flavor. The veggies were cooked and seasoned to taste well for what I suspect they were- which is bagged frozen Chinese veg mix (Water chestnuts and baby corns included). The queso was lacking a little in flavor even with ground beef and salsa added. The salsa does have a good tomato flavor if you like that as well. Service: Really great. Waiter was friendly, helpful, and attentive. I was asked several times if we needed refills etc. The food came out quickly and hot. The manager even came to ask each table in the dining room about their service. Very clean and slightly Americanized Mexican joint. I just moved to Cypress and it's hard to find good mexican food. So, traditionally, on Sundays I like a good bowl of Menudo and tacos. My Girlfriend and I ordered the small menudo special and our waiter said they didn't serve small Menudo only large but the special said small. He said he'd bring us a small. 30 minutes later he brought us a large. They've must of been thawing out the frozen menudo or something for it took so long. The menudo was bland with hardly any tripe was the cheap tripe and had alot of bones. ALOT! We also ordered the Carne Guisada and sent it back for it tasted like old pot roast and had no mexican spices. Disappointed and will not be going back. Manager could care less about our experience. There isn't anything special about this place. We have never had to wait for a table. They give you free queso for lunch. We had a margarita last time and it was decent. The food is ok but nothing to get excited about or crave. The prices are high in my opinion for the quality. But tonight was the straw that broke the camel's back. Our order was wrong, and when we asked for it to be corrected we were told it couldn't be fixed. The service was really good and the food too! I really liked the lightness of the chips and the salsa was served warm which is the way I like it! So good! We ordered a small queso which was more than enough and also the chunky guacamole which was soooo good! Basically my wife and I split an entree and I'm stuffed! The portions are generous and the prices really reasonable! If you're ever in the Cypress area check this place out! You won't be disappointed. I have eaten here twice now and feel comfortable,writing an accurate review. The location is in a small strip,center on Telge. It's next to Rockwell Tavern and one of my faves Mini Steak and Seafood so there is a lot of good eating together here. I like the salsa and chips that are complimentary. Their chicken fajitas were also very good. This is a good place to,eat and my service both times was good. Parking can be a little tight sometime especially with 3 restaurant grouped so closely together but you can find parking on the north side of the strip center and it is a 30 yard walk to the restaurant. In December they expect to have their new restaurant opened which is being built due south of the strip center about 50 yards away. read more

Very very nice little spot here. Great drinks, great Ritas great Fajitas. We were just driving by with the kids on Sunday and stopped to check this place out. They had kids eat free on Sunday so we thought.. why not. Loved the food here. Very nicely done. I would definitely go back but WITHOUT the kids. Although the kids ate free for some reason the we spent over 100 bucks here. DO NOT try the bacon wrapped shrimp I think they are what some people call Fresh Frozen. They came out on the outside and cold on the inside. So I suspect it was precooked, and heated up by microwave or precooked and reheated on the grill. Either way the bacon was warm on the outside and everything on the inside was cold to frozen. For that..I'm dropping a star. But the fajitas are great. read more

We ordered pick up today for skeleton crew at office. Ordered mixed fajitas for 12 people, quarts of Guac and Queso. Also had guacamole, rice n beans and pico de Gallo that come with fajitas. Lots of salsa and chips. All packed in large pans for takeout. The fajitas were awesome and tender, tortillas wrapped in sets. Just perfect. Everyone enjoyed it very much. Our office folks eat there weekly in different numbers. It's a good restaurant with great service, complimentary queso/peppers with chips and good margaritas. Give them a chance, keep them afloat thru this pandemic. They deserve it! read more
