This restaurant was inside Hyatt Regency down in Conroe Texas. It was a very nice restaurant. They were even growing peppers and herbs outside on the patio. They also had a huge wine selection. I stayed at the Hyatt for a banquet with the Fred Astaire dance studios. It was a great weekend and before heading home on Sunday morning I wanted a nice breakfast. I stayed at the Hyatt Regency Conroe and found this gem of a restaurant inside! The Conroux Omelette sounded too good to pass up, so I ordered that and a Lone Star Mary. The omelette was cooked perfectly and came with some excellent herbed potatoes and a salad. Despite their being somewhat crowded at the time, the service was quicker than I would have expected, so no complaints there. Worth a stop if you're in Conroe, especially if you're staying at the hotel! read more

I came here to visit some family friends who are visiting from out of town for the day. This was a convenient place since it's in the hotel that they were staying at. I didn't really have much expectations since it seems like any restaurant you'd expect in a chain hotel, even the more upscale ones. We arrived on a Saturday morning and we were quickly seated. The inside is very nice. It feels like a modern ranch style home inside. There are numerous windows that allow plenty of natural light inside. Overall, very comfortable and spacious. I will be upfront in saying that the food did come after quite a bit of wait. I appreciate that our waitress apologized in advance and gave a reason - apparently, there was a backlog. From what I observed, there was a birthday party in the event space. Perhaps there was a lot of catering and room service as well since I did see that there were several events in the convention space nearby. All I can do is assume. Otherwise, the staff was attentive. They regularly checked up on us throughout breakfast. I personally got the smoked brisket hash with eggs over easy. At first glance, I felt like the serving was relatively small compared to what everyone else got (omelets and breakfast sandwiches). I like that they served the lil potatoes whole. Very cute. Also delcious. The hash tasted good, especially with the chipotle crema. I just wish there was more overall, particularly the brisket. I did also get to try a bit of wild mushroom omelet. I definitely wish I ordered this. The spinash and tomato salad was great. The tomatoes were just sweet and tart enough. It went well with whatever vinagrette they had. The omelet was really tasty. The goat cheese was the star of the show. I thought the creamy texture and the earthy, almost intense flavor of the cheese really delivered on the rest of the omelet. Overall, I would come back again. My only critiques during this visit were the wait time and the quantity of food for the brisket hash. Everything else was five stars. read more

The food was good! Everything seemed fresh and my son loved his meal. I really wish they had blueberry pancakes, but they have strawberry ones that weren't my favorite. The smoothie was terrible, not sweet at all and not even drinkable. My main issue though was when we got our bill, the server added a 20% service charge since we were charging it to our room. Isn't that for when you get room service, not when you're eating there? Seemed odd, and I've never experienced that before at other hotel restaurants, so I suggest checking your bill before you add a tip on top of that. read more

Oh no...this was a mess. The host stand is around the corner that no one mans, leaving you waiting until you decide to go in the restaurant and flag a server down. Our server moved slow and chatted up tables way go long. Dining room sat with dirty tables and people hoping to get coffee while he leaned against booths talking. Once eggs Benedict arrived they came with no hollandaise, just melted butter. Our plates were dropped, we asked for ketchup, coffee, and hot sauce. We were almost done when we finally got them. I had asked for the hollandaise and got a ramekin of cold sauce. Was I supposed to spread it on? Ugh. Waste of money for both the hotel and food in Conroe. read more

It was the side salad with arugula, red onions and tomatoes, and the vinaigrette dressing that gave it any flavor. Wife had the omelette with crawfish...same thing. Everything was just "meh"...service, food and ambiance (best of the three). For those touting this as "the" breakfast place in Conroe, either we had very different experiences, or you need to get out more! I would recommend Taco Patron or Eggs Up Grille. I decided to try them again. Much better experience than the first time. I decided to try something different than the burger. I guess I'm kind of picky with burgers so I didn't want to set myself up for failure. I decided to try the andouille & shrimp pasta. However, I made a bit of a critical mistake. I focused solely on the andouille part & didn't see "shrimp" right there in the title (I had a long & exhausting day so I guess my brain was elsewhere). Well, I have a mild shellfish allergy so when the dish showed up with the shrimp on top, I panicked a bit. So I decided to eat some pasta first to "coat" my stomach & made sure I had pasta with every bite of shrimp and would you believe it, no reaction! OK so as far as the dish itself, excellent. Pasta was perfectly cooked and the creamy sauce was flavorful and complemented both the pasta & shrimp well. I feel like I missed out on the andouille; I didn't really taste it in the dish, maybe it was cut small but I'd still recommend it. I also got a drink, the Texas Sunset cocktail. OMG, one of the top 5 best restaurant cocktails I've had. Tasted like a tropical old fashioned. Balanced sweetness and a nice overtone of bitterness and tartness. On top of that, they smoked it (it came out really fancy) so it had the added smoke flavor. I'd come back just for that alone! For dessert, I grabbed a Creme Brûlée which this month was Dulce de Leche with caramel & caramelized pecans on top. The brûlée itself was nicely creamy, good, consistent texture. The caramel added a nice touch. I like the pecans but they were a little too hard for me. A little less roasting on the pecans and it would've been perfect. I was served by Tylar again who was helpful and attentive. She actually explained to me how they cooked the shrimp when I asked since I didn't have an allergic reaction as I expected, which was helpful. I also had the privilege of being greeted by the manager Vanessa who was very friendly and conversational. I'm appreciative to them both for making this time around better! read more

Beautiful view and very inviting atmosphere. Very clean and bright and the food is great. The coffee could be better.

Conroux is a small restaurant with a small menu inside of the Hyatt hotel that packs a big punch. The food and service were both well done. The appetizer menu has a lot of fun options. I got the steak frites and although it was a smaller steak, it was good quality meat. The brisket egg rolls were a perfect mix of sweet and spicy. We'll be back soon! read more

We came for the first time for the valentine's set menu. We're new to the area and were excited to try our local spot, hoping it would feel like one of our good Houston spots. We misunderstood that each course had its set wine selection rather than getting to pick from the 3 recommended. It seemed a little empty, with disordered service to start. The filet was tasty- my husband liked the potato biscuit item. My short rib was served weirdly and was tough with a large fatty portion so it was hard to eat. Flavor was pretty good but didn't quite make up for everything else. The mushrooms were thrown in with large clumps and the pasta had no sauce or flavor to it. Very plain overall. The dessert had nice presentation and was okay but again, just fell flat. Drinks at the bar afterward were nice- we're planning to hit happy hour here hopefully often since we live so close. Posting just hoping that our future visit for a regular menu is better and/or that this place can stick around and be a great spot in the future. read more

A beautiful new environment! The table service was very good. The food was all very well prepared and tasty. It's really a wonderful refreshing place to visit in the Conroe area due to its high ceilings and large modern decor. It's a breath of fresh air! A Pleasant Surprise on the Way to Huntsville So, on our way to Huntsville State Park, we randomly decided to stop at this restaurant called Conroux, which is tucked away inside the Hyatt hotel. Totally a spur-of-the-moment choice, but it turned out to be a good one! The place is super clean and has this nice, fresh smell--definitely a good first impression. The service was top-notch too. Our waiter was really friendly and went out of his way to help since I'm allergic to wheat. Talk about great customer service! We ordered a hot chocolate and two STRAUSS GRASS-FED CHEESEBURGERS, cooked medium. The buns were crispy on the outside, and the patties were juicy and fresh--no weird meaty taste or anything. The texture was just right, tender and soft, and when you combine that with the fresh lettuce, onion, tomato, and the crispy bun, each bite was a delicious mix of different textures and flavors. Seriously, it hit all the right notes! The fries were another win--crispy and tasty even without ketchup. They didn't have that greasy, leftover oil taste you get from fast food places, which was a nice change. For someone who's tried all kinds of cheeseburgers, this one was pretty impressive. Conroux (pronounced Kon-roo) is the restaurant inside of the Hyatt Regency Conroe. It's certainly beautiful, and the seats are comfy (both booths and chairs have cushions). My family and I dined here for dinner, and my husband and I ate here for a breakfast too, and it was really delicious, though the prices do leave a little something to be desired (they are hotel-inflated prices). Our servers were pleasant and attentive. And even though the hotel was pretty busy while we were staying there, the restaurant wasn't too busy so we were seated immediately both times we dined, which was nice. read more

This restaurant advertised its Christmas Day brunch as having a bounty of options like prime rib, salmon, shrimp and grits. This sounded like the perfect holiday meal for our particular family situation because cooking at home is not an option. Sounded like there would be something for everyone. We had reservations and didn't notice until after we were all seated and invited to explore the buffet that it was nothing like as advertised. It was a lightly-elevated hotel brunch. We had no other option at that point so we made the most of it. I think there was an omelette station to dictate a custom omelette but the two cooks attending that area did nothing when you made eye contact with them and it was not clear how to get that process started. We had to ask for plates, which they grudgingly bring out in a small stack and didn't refresh after they all disappeared. We asked a few servers about the holiday brunch as advertised and no one knew what we were talking about. Apparently the hotel decided a few days before Christmas to "do something different" and they thought all the ads had been taken off the internet. They didn't bother to tell ppl with reservations that the plans had changed. Ultimately we had a decent meal and didn't leave hungry, but it was nothing like we expected. It kind of bummed our Christmas Day. If you make a reservation here for something specific I guess double check that it is still actually happening or make a safety plan. read more

I cannot believe this place is still in business. The food is blah tasteless. My friend ordered the steak dish and I ordered the chicken. Neither had any flavor , broccoli was oily, and fried potato sticks tasted nasty. Not a good wine selection and with high prices. The manager Brent came and asked how the food was I and told him the truth. He said he would give us 20% off the check when we had literally had two bites of each dish. Food is average, prices are hotel-like, some of the service was lacking. Went to Conroux for dinner with my wife. A group of about ten was being seated by the hostess just before us. The hostess said "sorry, it'll be five minutes". I said no problem, we'll have a drink at the bar while we wait. We got our drinks at the bar (in the lobby) and headed back to the Conroux hostess stand. The hostess didn't seem to recognize me. She said "it will be 15 minutes before I can seat you". There was no one else waiting to be seated. The tables in the restaurant were more than half empty. I explained "remember me? We just spoke and you said 5 minutes, so we went and got drinks at the bar." She shrugged and said "15 minutes". I pointed out that half the tables in the restaurant were empty. We already got drinks and would rather be seated at a table than to stand around the hostess stand while waiting to be seated. She wouldn't budge, on orders from the chef. Apparently they were short staffed, so limiting seating. Only out of sheer hunger (and we had drinks in hand) did we not leave at this point. Frustrated, we went to back to the lobby bar, where we got menus and ordered the same food the kitchen would have had to cook and serve us if we were seated in the restaurant. Lots of other restaurants have figured out how to give customers a better experience when the restaurant is on a wait. Guide people to the bar. Notify them when their table is ready. The food was average. Bahn mi bread was a soft roll, not crusty French bread as bahn mi should be - especially for $20. The "crab cakes" were a single, small crab cake. If you're hungry, staying at the Hyatt, and don't have a car, Conroux is fine. Otherwise, there are lots of better choices nearby. read more

Although this is a hotel lobby restaurant, I found the service to be exceptional and the food was above average. I was not disappointed with anything.
