4.3 stars Ok, take it from a guy that just surpassed 300 reviews and come on down and enjoy this gathering. I was here with my de-facto Texas family and it was PACKED when we arrived...usually a sign that the place rocks. We put in our names for a table but a few bar spaces opened, so we elected to stool it. Super friendly, and remarkably quick service for the amount of customers in attendance. Everyone looked like they were having a great time and we really enjoyed ourselves. The food was super tasty, and my only "whine" was that there was a little too little sauce on my enchiladas...but I didn't say anything because I was having too much fun. We love the Lupe Tortillas in the Woodlands and high hopes for this new location. We arrived at 11:30 on a Sunday. It wasn't empty but not super crowded either. It took a while before our ordered was taken and we considered leaving. I wish we had. It took over 45 minutes from when we ordered to receive our food. We were told it was because my son ordered Carne Asada. No way they cooked his Carne Asada for 45 minutes. Although it was way over cooked so who knows. Overall, the food was ok but definitely not the hour and 45 mins it took. We won't be back. There are too many better places to go in the area. Super disappointing. read more

After a less than mediocre dining experience, the waitress, not a busser, placed a black bin on our table and began scraping our plates clean with a knife into the bin before I made her stop so my fiancé was able to get out of her seat so we could leave that unbearable situation. The entire experience from not being greeted to the manager coming to close my blinds after I opened them for a little light at our table, was just awful. If you're looking for great Mexican food in Montgomery, drive straight past Lupe, or don't go that far and stop at The Big Sombrero You will be more than satisfied with the entire dining experience and find your new favorite Mexican restaurant. 50 minutes from sit down to food. Our waiter, Oswaldo, was seldom seen, hence the table joke "where's Waldo?". Food was OK, nothing to write home about .... Bean salsa was great, margarita was good, chips are fresh .... food is pricey. Beem here ... done that! read more

This Lupe has provided the worst experience of any Lupe I've ever been to. I absolutely love Lupe, but hate coming to this location which unfortunately is closest to my house. The food was pretty good, but I hope you like lime. Good luck getting chips, we had to ask about 17 times to get one basket of chips. We were told several times that they were handling our chip situation, but it took Tyreke to finally secure the chip bag. I would go back if Tyreke was my server. Ambiance was fine, but the server need to keep their promises. Service! It's a real problem. I realize it's a "soft" opening...but criminy! How long has it been already? You should be able to answer the phone! Not have the recording say you are 2nd in line, then 1st , then again 1st, theh say youv are next with a one minute wait time. After about 10 minutes... then say the person isn't available, please leave a message,THEN.. sorry, we can't take any more messages! Just one incident. Last time I called for the soft opening reserve time,,, they said I had to drive there to ask for a reserve time in person! I told her id be there in 5 minutes. She still couldn't or wouldn't tell me if there was a time slot available. When I arrived in 5 minutes,,, not only was I told there wasn't an available time within an hour,,, but not for the rest of the night! Seriously? You didn't know that 5 minutes before? And why was it the first time I went I called and got a seating time? VIA PHONE. But this time I had to drive there in person? Makes zero sense. I keep trying to be understanding, and definitely was the first trip, it's a soft opening. But they are getting worse instead of better! I was told the first trip they'd be completely open the following week. It's been maybe 3 weeks? 4? Second trip was riddled with problems,including staff not knowing the menu and getting the wrong thing. I had to show her what the menu said. * I was nice.. soft opening. Came here on a Friday evening with our kids & grands...service & food was amazing! If you haven't tried this place, you need to. This is our new go to for mexican! We have dined at Lupe Tortillas Montgomery at least a dozen times since an its soft opening in September 2024. The service was slow the first few weeks as expected. As their staff continued to grow that has improved. The food has been delicious from day one. The fajitas , steak Lupe, three pepper chicken, roasted corn, flautas and margaritas never disappoint. They have a great outdoor patio for dining. The bar is larger than the standard Lupe's bar. There is a room that would be great for private parties. Been waiting a long time for Montgomery to get a good Mexican restaurant. read more

Wow is the first word that comes to mind. Place was extremely busy but service and food was over the top! Wife and I stopped for early dinner on Sat Oct 5 and this our first time here. At 3:30Pm the restaurant was really busy . We ordered some house drinks and they were awesome- pricey but good. We then ordered some Queso Dip- nice size serving and delicious! After the appetizer I ordered a combination dinner to share with my wife. Plenty of food and it was really good. Our server was Juan as we set at the bar and he did a great job taking care of us plus a full bar of people. We will definitely be back great food, service and atmosphere! read more

We love the Lupe's in The Woodlands and the newly opened one in Montgomery may be even better. The floor plan and variety of seating is great. They are doing a really good job of training their new servers and cooks. The waitress did a wonderful job. We ordered from the brunch menu, which we had never had the chance to do at The Woodlands location. It was wonderful. My kids had waffles and pancakes with fruit, which they both loved. I had the barbacoa benedict, it was really good. It was a yummy TexMex take on an eggs benedict. read more

Lupe's service model is terrible. Their sense of urgency in welcoming, seating and serving people is lacking. Once you're seated it can take 10 minutes before anyone comes to your table to get things rolling. If you order a drink from the bar, it might be another 10 minutes. By the time you get chips, dip and drinks your at 30 minutes and this is common even if the place isn't busy. Again even without a crowd the time to get food served is easily 30 more minutes. I don't know what's going on in the kitchen but food prep efficiency is not their strength. Poor service on top of the food which is generally good but much too expensive is a recipe for a troubled future. Please, please, please improve your service procedures, we need you in Montgomery! read more

Our families go to place for fajitas. The food is always excellent, the atmosphere is loud, perfect for families. The service is always great. The prices aren't cheap but they are normal for the expectation and experience. Definitely our families go to for good food and great service. read more

We were so excited to get a Lupe Tortilla. We have gone about 6 times now with the same turnout each time. The hostess personnel are very unfriendly to start with. After getting our name on the list we have gone to the bar to grab a drink and waited anywhere form 20-35 minutes before even being asked if we would like a drink. Twice we have been seated prior to even one bartender acknowledging our existance. After being seated the wait staff was very poor the first couple times. Then we had better luck with the waiter and waitress. However the last trip the waiter took our order and brought us meals we didn't even order. When we let him know all he said was well that is what I heard you say so oh well. We have let the manager know twice now when he came by our table. We were really hoping this was because they were a new open however it has not gotten any better in the months to follow. To be honest make the drive to the Woodlands facility and get outstanding service from the second you walk in the door. read more

I'm not sure where to start, but I took my partner on a dinner date with me. I was very excited to try Lupe for the first time. Long story short this could've been one hell of a lawsuit. If I didn't just finish a lawsuit, I probably would've sued them for what happened to me. I was sitting there minding my business, drinking my drink when one of their decoration, jalapeños, ceramic bundle things fell on my head. And it literally felt like someone picked up a plate and threw it at my head. And it didn't just fall from 3'4 feet. It fell from the top of the roof to my head probably 8 foot plus. They gave me a free meal and told me they were sorry. But I wouldn't eat here and if you do bring a helmet. read more

Don't visit Lupe tortilla in Montgomery Tx because the two ladies behind the bar who never smile and don't have any customer service skills at all, took my car keys while outside smoking and it took an hour and half to get them to return my car keys after I asked them to look 3 times and they did it on purpose because they were mad that Trump won and they are dem wits with no common sense what so ever. This place has open tables and wait times of an hour on a Thursday at 430 pm. Was told that the issue was shift change. Shouldn't be open yet if they can't handle a dinner crowd. go elsewhere till this place gets their act together. Then to add on to the hour wait got cold tortilla soup. I trusted Lupe's with my mother's 80th birthday dinner on Saturday Sept. 14th. Wrong choice. After waiting 10 minutes for the server to visit us for the first time to take drink orders and an appetizer, our appetizer made it to the table first, I had to get the attention of the manager and he seemed annoyed with us for complaining that we had no chips or water to eat our queso with, in all we waited 27 minutes for our water and chips to make it to the table and another 10 minutes for our margaritas. Getting refills was impossible. My daughter loves your 3 pepper steak but it came out with no peppers and was covered with Pico. When you order a small margarita on the rocks you get a small glass that the margarita comes in and you pour it into your margarita glass and it is always too much so you have another half margarita, well they did not bring that little glass, so we got screwed out of the extra margarita and the gentlemen we told acted like he had no idea what we were talking about. The waitress had no idea what she was doing. She had to keep reading the menu and then write down what we wanted. I got the impression she had never eaten at Lupe's before. It took over 30 minutes to get our food after the 37 minutes to get our margaritas, and that was after the 45-minute wait for a table. So, Thanks for ruining my mom's 80th birthday dinner. read more

I'm not sure what's going on at this location and I understand like the other reviewer left, that this place just opened, but the whole process of what they are doing is just wrong. There are people that have family's with KIDS, some people cannot get out so TO GO, is so much easier! that's why it's to go because it's convenient. I'm a huge fan of lupes, especially the one off 290, they have there own curbside pick up area where they bring everything out to you, you don't even have to step foot inside. However this place started out by invite only, that's right INVITE ONLY and now you have to make reservations to even come here or the wait is outrageous which is understandable (people love the chain it's self) but then that's when you in cooperate TO GO! So there's not as many people waiting for a seat they can just leave with the food. I honestly feel like they have been open long enough to fix this and doing so would makes things run smoother. I really would like to know why the service isn't being offered, also I want to notate, if they were not ready to offer these services (as every lupes has it or even place to eat at, AGAIN it's a chain restaurant like McDonalds) why open? It just doesn't make sense. One last thing I really hope they can fix this and the reviews left because being they just opened it's not looking good. read more
