This was my first time here as we decided to try it driving by. The service was a little slow and the chips were either stale or cold. I could not figure that out. The food was really good! Poor custom services.. The manger Margarita was so rude and unprofessional when called to complain. When the person that answer the phone told they want to speak with manger she said no and hung up .. I had to call again then she had a horrible attitude so i asked if i could speak with her boss she told me he don't like for them to give his name out.. We love this place! This is our go to restaurant and we've always had excellent service, strong drinks and good food. In particular, we love the table side guacamole and the chips and salsa. This is a really nice restaurant. Staff is super friendly. Me and my boyfriend wanted to try a new place for mexican, and can't believe we never came across this place before. I like the old school music and decor of the entire place. Booth seating is very spacious and clean. Great pricing on mexican food. The black bean dip and salsa are so good, I couldn't stop eating it and we had to order more. Enchiladas are made very well, not soggy or too rough like you would see at other places. Ate lunch here before the Final Four. Was able to take our lunch receipt & leave it on the dash board of our car, walk to the stadium, & save in $50-75 parking. The food. It's SO good. Starters include hot, salty chips with one of my all time fav salsas And black beans for dipping! We also ordered table side guac which was full of fresh veggies & flavor. The margaritas are incredible. I ordered the frozen, my husband had the high end rocks version. Both were delish- not sugary sweet! We went for lunch on a weekday and it was not busy at all. We sat at the bar and the service was very good. The bartender made a great michelada and a market fresh margarita, neither of which were on the bar menu. Next, chips and salsa! Chips were average, salsa was pretty good and a delicious black bean dip was included! We ordered the lunch special, which was brisket tacos, and the shrimp enchiladas with the pablano sauce. We were both happy with our choices. The beans and rice were probably above average, too. We finished off with a sopapilla. My husband and I have eaten here twice and enjoy the food. The problem is with the service. We arrived on a busy Saturday night and were told the wait would be 25 minutes! I could see into the dining room and saw MANY empty tables. When I pointed this out to the host he said the kitchen and wait staff could not keep up with the business. REALLY? That is a bad problem for a restaurant! Management should get on it and hire more personnel and step up training in the kitchen. Surely both measures would improve the profits/bottom line. This place was amazing. I got the Caipirinha to drink and it was just so deliciously citrusy that you could barely taste the alcohol thought they must have had a lot because I could feel it after just one drink. The cheese dip was some of my favorite in town, the salsa was perfectly spicy, then can I just say as someone who usually avoids black bean like the plague, the Black Bean dip was incredible. I got the mix grill fajitas, the meat was so tender and perfectly cooked. My mom had the Chile Relleno, she gave me a bit it was amazing, it comes with your choice of sauce on top and she got the cheese sauce, the meat inside was tender not dried out like it can sometimes be especially when you get Chicken Chile Relleno which is what she got. The poblano pepper was perfectly cooked just crunchy enough you knew the pepper was there but not so crunchy it was like it hadn't been cook it had cheese on the inside and with the cheese sauce on the outside it was just so super deliciously cheesy. We got the rice and bean, the rice is like most Mexican restaurant rice really nothing to make it a stand out but the beans were incredible, we got Charro beans aka bean soup it was scrumptious, they slow cook it with bacon, I think maybe ham and Mexican spices. Next time I go even though I loved the fajitas, I loved my bit of my mom Chicken Chile Relleno even more so I will get that the cheese dip and the Charro beans because that was the best of every food thing we had. The Caipirinha is a highly recommend too, it uses a Brazilian rum, sugar and limes to make an incredible drink. I've looked all over the metroplex for a place that served this drink and this and one other place in Arlington are the only places I've been able to find this rare gem of a drink. read more

Quaint little joint tucked away in a side pocket of Lincoln Square in Arlington, right between Half-Price and Jason's Deli. The food was pretty delish for a local Tex-Mex place (there's one other location in Bedford), and there's plenty of personality in their food as shown by the dish names, which are named after people and each seem pretty personalized. They all sounded so good, we didn't know what to pick! Most of us got enchiladas and/or tacos.The food to me was better than the cookie-cutter dishes of most other chain tex-mex places--not too oversalted and their chips were light and thin as compared to some of the thicker and less tasty chips and salsa at other places. Their chicken enchiladas were pretty savory and came with a big heaping portion of beans that flooded the plate. I also got a puff taco, which is pretty unique--basically a shell that had been fried and stuffed with beef, lettuce, tomato, and cheese. A pretty interesting taco, considering we tried to imagine what a puff taco would've looked like before we asked our waiter about it! By the way, the staff is super nice and friendly--our waiter was super polite, and upon my joke of free ice cream with our flan, we were delighted to find a yummy scoop of vanilla on the side of our dessert. BRING CASH! I took my family last weekend to the Arlington location and my bill came to over $200- which was expected. However, my server made a mistake and made double payment to my credit card. My $200 meal quickly became a $400 meal. I have been trying for DAYS to speak to someone regarding a refund for money that is owed back to me. The owner would not even take my phone call, but made her young son speak to me while she stood next to him telling him what to say. I could hear her speaking to him in the background. And then he quickly hung up. The customer service and ethics of this establishment is questionable at best. They flat out said they would not return my money. I understand mistake happen but we would all be upset if $200+ went missing from our bank account. I have filed the charge with my bank as fraud. Buyer beware! read more

Outstanding! Blue Mesa had a wait, so we went here and it was better than most of the texmex I've eaten in a long time. Presentation was nice, server was prompt and efficient. The food choices were not the same old fare, either. They have the standards, but we had chicken poblano enchiladas (think chili relleno without being fried) and chipotle fajitas. Both excellent. - the fajitas were interesting in that it wasn't chopped up cuts of scraps but a few large cuts of quality meat. Impressive. The flan was perfectly firm and the tres leches? When in Dallas I eat Tex Mex pretty much everyday. When you live in South Florida, of course there is great Latin food on every street corner but Tex Mex is pretty much out of the question. Hey, I'm a gringo and love me some Tex Mex...what can you do? This place was great. They start you off with Black bean salsa with chips which was a big hit at our table, in particular since the regular tomato salsa was nuclear HOT. I had the Brisket tacos and the Sangria margarita swirl which were excellent. The restaurant was filled with couples, families and some singles by the bar so a good mix of all kinds of people. You can sit at the patio outside, providing its not too hot and really enjoy a cerveza or two. Lastly, the service was ok. I have been in the service/management business for nearly 30 years and our server was the best i think i have ever witnessed. I'm pretty much going to always chose Mexican food if you ask me where to go. My BFF and I were hanging out in Dallas and when it was time for a early dinner Arlington seemed like the most neutral location. I'm not a big fan of the crowds in the Highlands and I live much closer to North Arlington and have been to every Mexican place with the except of Lupe's. It was 9 so for Arlington that is late but they are open until 10:30. We were cheerfully greeted and seated right away. Very nice waiter told us the Margaritas were really good and strong. Cool because it had been a long day and I needed one. The drinks were very strong I would return just for chips, salsa and a margarita. In my own weirdness I order Cheese Enchiladas with Ranchero sauce. If you have bad Cheese Enchilada, well let's just say I won't be back anytime soon. Lucky for Lupe's they dot it right. My BFF ordered Rangers and Cowboys and was equally impressed with her meal. I think for the price and the service I will be back and I hope I'm not disappointed. My daughter and I decided to try this place because it was close to our hotel. When we sat down they served us chips and salsa that was great to me but a bit spicy for my kiddo.
