It's in the corner next to Mendocino farms. Restaurant is quite big and very clean and bright. Our server was Patrick and he was lovely. The free bread was delicious and they use compostable sugarcane straws, great for the environment. Wife got double smash burger with sweet potato fries and she said it was great. She is not much of a fish person so she appreciated the alternative. I got the pacific rockfish daily special and it came with two sides and got clam chowder and the Parmesan potato ball. Food was good. First of, the New England clam chowder was really good, we love it! The lobster ravioli was also amazing , it came with a slice of sourdough bread . The lobster roll was a bit salty for my taste but the side of pineapple coleslaw chased that away. The miso salmon bowl had a big serving of veggies, healthy and yummy. The fish tacos were spot on and the albacore ponzu was another healthy dish. The veracruz chowder was spicy for me and it tasted like a pico de gallo soup, I'll stick with the New England chowder. Lure is just as clean, just as welcoming and just as tasty as the last time we were able to visit. Now we are back from years in the UK and will be regulars. We now live in Beverly Hills and so it is a 40-60 minute drive but our daughter lives very close by. The big difference (improvement!) from our last visit which was highly disorganized whereas this time it was perfect! Patrick did an amazing job - he was friendly, had a great sense of humor and really cared. It was very enjoyable and fun for all 3 of us. Can we have Patrick as our server every visit please ??? Lure Fish House, at the Porter Ranch Vineyards, has been one of my popular seafood destinations. Why? Because it is close by, and they served enticing seafood selections. Recently, they attracted the public by a small, but enticing happy hour menu. Prices were good, food portions were small (no problem) and we could have most of our favorites. But something, somewhere, has happened here, and it has gone wrong. My recent visit was a huge disappointment. Not only have the prices gone up (which is fine with me and not a problem), but the food quality has reversely plummeted. My Veracruz Fish Chowder was all tomatoes, potatoes, acidic, lacked freshness and hardly had any fish. The crab cakes, which previously had abundant crab meat, was almost all mashed potatoes and fillers. Why not be upfront and call it potato cakes? I was not the only one, who was upset. I asked my neighbors at the Oyster bar and they were also not impressed. They had the fried Calamari, clam chowder, fish chowder, crab cakes and the grass fed beef slider (that comes with fries). They hardly had finished even half of most of their dishes. Then asked for a carry out, packed part of it, then left it all on the table and walked out. Oh well. I came here for the first time to celebrate my dad's birthday. He is a big seafood fan, and I've been trying to get him and my mom to try some new spots around town, so checking out a slightly upscale spot just up the street from them was an easy sell. Lure is on the front corner of The Vineyards at Porter Ranch, one of the newer shopping centers off Rinaldi. There is a ton of open parking, but I imagine the lot can get pretty busy during peak shopping hours. We came on a Wednesday night and were able to park just a short distance from the front door. We walked in and put our names on the list and were told it would be about a 15min wait. They only take reservations for groups of 8+, though since it was weeknight we weren't really expecting much of a wait. Sure enough, we got the alert that our table was ready about 5 minutes later. We were seated in a booth facing the open kitchen which wouldn't be my first choice, however the table was set far enough away that I didn't feel like we were in the middle of the action. Our waitress, Tera, was really friendly and attentive and immediately checked in with us after we sat down to get us water and bring us some bread. We had already perused the menu ahead of time, and knew we would split some items, and order individual entrees. We tried the following: *Margerum Sybarite Sauvignon Blanc (2024): Since my dad and I are big wine fans, especially with seafood, we decided to split a bottle. This wine was really bright and refreshing: citrusy (lemon, grapefruit), fresh fruit (pear, passionfruit) with scent of fresh grass. This was perfectly light and went with everything. *OYSTERS (1 dozen): The current oysters (as of 9/3/25) were Kumiai (Baja California); Kumamotos (Baja California), Love Shuck (Maine) and we got a mix of all three. All three were super fresh, and the presentation was lovely. My personal favorite were the Kumamotos; they have a fresh cucumber finish that was delicious! *SPICY SEAFOOD CEVICHE (white shrimp, wild pacific rockfish, salsa roja, avocado, pico de gallo, cucumber, organic tortilla chips): This was really delicious! There was a generous portion of shrimp, and the salsa roja wasn't overly spicy. We could have used some extra chips but honestly just eating it on its own was super tasty. *NEW ENGLAND CLAM CHOWDER (cream, bacon, onion, red potatoes): A classic standard done really well. The soup wasn't too runny or too thick, and the smokiness of the bacon really made this stand out from your standard clam chowder. *CLASSIC CAESAR (add anchovies +$1.50): The dressing on this was superb! I really love lemony Caesar dressing, and the anchovies were a great addition. The small salad was a decent size and I probably could have shared it. *WHITE SEA BASS (wild-caught, pacific): My dad had his eye on this when we first decided we would come here. The sea bass was perfectly and lightly seasoned, and had a slight crust to it which gave some depth to the flavor. *ALASKAN HALIBUT (wild caught): This was one of the fresh fish of the day so it's not always on the menu. Really well cooked so it was flaky, not mushy and also had a great seasoning and crust. *LOBSTER RAVIOLI (Maine lobster, squid ink-striped ravioli): I knew this was going to be delicious, but it exceeded my expectations! The raviolis are stuffed with lobster filling, and the sauce is incredible. The crispy, buttery topping was also really tasty. *PARMESAN POTATO CAKE (side): This was a great side! It was a mashed potato patty, grilled on a flat top. Delicious and not overly filling. *CILANTRO LIME RICE (side): Another good side with a light flavor that complemented both the sea bass and the halibut. Tera kindly brought my dad a birthday dessert (hot fudge sundae) which was simply delicious. The entire meal from start to finish was high quality, mouth-watering, and super fresh. Since my hubby's team had a bye today he took me to my favorite seafood house. I love Lure because the seafood is wild caught and fresh. I literally believe that I've visited all the California locations and I've never been disappointed. There's plenty of free parking but it was crowded due to all of the restaurants. Our server was Jennifer and she was extremely helpful. For starters I ordered my usual dozen chargrilled oysters. They're a must try and they even have a half dozen. My husband ordered the shrimp appetizer. I wanted a drink with a kick so Jennifer suggested the patron perfection and it was amazing. For our main meal I decided to ordered something different since I usually order my usual. I ordered the ravioli lobster. Anytime we want charbroiled oysters with the squeeze of lemon, we hit up Lure's for the goods. We've been here so may times and every time the oysters taste so good that it's like I'm eating them for the first time. First let me start off with parking. lures is located in a shopping center with a ton of stores making it difficult at times to get a park. For the most part, parking should be pretty easy but at times it can get rough. The restaurant is pretty big and always nice and clean when we arrive. We usually sit at the oyster bar and hop it up with the cooks. This time we arrived close to closing and decided to sit in the bar area next to the tv. When we arrived the host barely wanted to seat us, and we had 30 mins still before closing. We already knew what we wanted and we were going to be in and out but my guy at the host table was extremely hesitant lol. We told him we'd be quick and headed to the bar as he stared us down until we got to our seats. On the other hand, our waiter was very cool, took our orders right away and checked on us often to make sure we were good. We did have to ask the cleaning lady for bread but she came through in the clutch. We ordered the oysters to share, and I got fish and chips with clam chowder.. Since we were in a rush, I couldn't enjoy the oysters like I normally do. However, the clam chowder was pretty good but I was a little disappointed with the fish & chips (they were a little two crispy which tasted almost burnt). I probably won't order those again but the charbroiled oysters were amazing!! I'm not going to grade it on this one experience because I'm going to chalk it up to arriving 30 mins before closing. Cute seafood restaurant at The Vineyards with a slightly more romantic atmosphere than the surrounding options. I was always intimidated by how busy they appeared to be but we had no trouble getting a table on a Friday night or a Tuesday night, so my advice is go for it! We also tried the grilled market swordfish, which was totally delicious. As far as sides, I loved the Parmesan potato cake side! Fries are always a good choice. The cilantro corn salad was good but the cilantro rice was a bit lackluster. But those shishito peppers... I need to come back for more of those. The specials were a bit disappointing. Lobster roll had very little flavor - definitely needs something extra to amp it up. We put the filling into the complimentary bread with the sauce from the shishito peppers and that was pretty bomb. The miso salmon bowl was also kind of lacking. Not bad, just not that interesting. Kids: Kids meals are super generous for the price. My toddler has a big appetite and we still left with leftovers. They also only serve Pepsi, which was kind of a bummer. IYKYK. Service is pretty quick and very friendly. And for what you're getting, the bill is very fair. I met up with family here for an early lunch yesterday. I have been to the location in Westlake Village, but this was my first time dining here. There is plenty of parking. Even though we were here before 12 pm, the place was packed! Expect long wait times on weekends and in the evenings. The location is very spacious. Customer service was great and friendly! Everyone enjoyed the food. Given the quality, prices are quite high here. This location has separate menus for lunch and dinner (I know this is the same at the Westlake Village location, but I am unsure if all the locations offer two separate menus). Despite how busy it was, the food came out quickly, and we finished lunch earlier than we expected. I got the shrimp tacos with sweet potato fries. The tacos were excellent. I found the fries mediocre though. You have the option to book reservations on their website. If you are a seafood fan, definitely give the restaurant a try if you have not already.
