Erin and Derek did a great job on my cut and color! Derek gave me exactly the color I described and Erin always gives me a great cut! The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because the way the salon booked me was to have 30 mins in between each stylist because that's just how it worked out time wise. I was fine with that but in reality I ended up sitting for about an hour or more before Erin was able to cut my hair. Derek gave me a complimentary hair mask after my color because of the time gap. No fault of the stylists by any means, the receptionist just booked me for a bigger window of time than necessary. Still a great salon! read more

I have super thick, wavy, damaged, fine, color treated hair with multiple cowlicks... It's like the holy grail of difficult hair to cut and color. I've easily seen 10 stylist since moving back to Dallas and I am happy to say I have finally found a "forever home". Clint Wheeler and Scott Koske do an AMAZING job, taking care to listen to what I'm asking for, then carefully and deliberately deliver the results. This is definitely not a "turn 'em and burn 'em" operation... settle in for a multiple hour experience. Fortunately the conversation skills are the best, the salon is lovely, the products are high quality and the booze is free. I went to Lure Salon today based on the great reviews here on Yelp and I made the right choice! I'm so happy -- my hair is GORGEOUS!! I was a little nervous going from long to short hair with a stylist I didn't know, but PHILLIPPE DID AN AMAZING JOB!!!! Very pretty cut that is well blended (which is KEY). All too often I see people with choppy, badly cut short hair. But not here and especially not with Phillippe. He has tons of experience and it really shows in his work! He takes his time and does it right. What more can u ask for?? As an added bonus, the salon is very nice and modern. They offer beverages including wine which is a good touch. What a disaster!!!! OVERPRICED $250 for a nightmare AND I had to end up cutting 8 INCHES OFF MY HAIR. I went in for bayalage with Vanessa, trying to keep my natural dark blonde roots (abt level 6-5), so I wanted that subtle highlight up. I had a couple pictures and expressed my concern that my hair pulls red and that I did not want any reds, honeys, oranges, etc. I was seeking the white ash highlight, and mind you, my hair had already been lifted. Wellllll, after randomly placed highlights and an hour sit, i was rinsed and then a "rinse" put on my head. This "rinse" actually died my roots red(which I had told her I wanted to keep natural), and I do not want red; and I am sure was charged for this "rinse" too. This was a total nightmare. I dried my hair, expressed what a mess, there was no even pattern of highlight and big chunks of dark, orange, brass, and definitely my hair was not any lighter...I made an appointment to fix it..politely paid/tipped, and left. Don't ask my why I tipped... i should not have. The following week I had my "fix" hair appointment with the owner, and more bleach, and honestly not much of a fix, she added lowlites then put on a toner that brought the lowlite "up" to the RED that I asked to stay away from, and still blocks of dark patches - but was told I could come back and have it evened out a little better. I am sure you shouldn't put a bright toner on top of a lowlite. So now the slop is there to stay. After 9 hours over a 2 week period in this salon, I was not coming back-- on top of that the damage caused by this over processing, which they should have put some olaplex in the bleach or something!!!!!! I now have had to cut my hair to my shoulders and have to wait another month or so (if I can get moisture to hold) to have the color FIXED. I do not recommend this salon at all -- definitely overpriced and sloppy. read more

He is very nice, let's me sleep after night shifts, listens to what I want without arguing or "doing what's best" which I feel like is stylist code for I'm gonna do what I want. I just got one of the best cuts of my life here! Everyone was very nice and professional, and Yvonne (color) and Liz (cut) did a wonderful job. And Blake, Yvonne's assistant, was very personable and took good care of me. I had a Living Social voucher, and got an appointment within a week of when I called. I've used other LS vouchers and Groupons elsewhere, and it's normal to have to wait a bit when the offers first come out (and right before they expire). So I usually wait a couple of weeks, and normally don't have a problem. I will definitely be returning to Lure and paying full price for such a wonderful cut and color. read more

I'm new to Dallas and after leaving behind my beloved stylist/hair salon in Philly, I didn't know just how I was going to get by. Well, let me tell you, I struck gold when I happened upon Lure Salon last week. They completely swept me off my feet and after my terrific first experience, I am proud to call Lure my salon and highly recommend it to everyone! It is nothing short of awesome! Super relaxing, warm, friendly, inviting, surprisingly affordable (especially considering their expertise and tremendous level of customer service) and they did a fantastic job with my hair. Tiffany and Liz are simply the best. Both as color/style specialists and they are such pleasant people. My mom and I got our hair done here and this place exceeded our expectations on every level. And I've been around the hair block a few times so you can trust me when I say this. I decided last minute that it was time for a cut and color and was really hoping to get an appointment sooner rather than later because my roots were really getting to me. I was offered an appointment the same day which was great. I've had some previous experiences with snooty service at salons but even as I was making the appt on the phone, they were so courteous and friendly, I was like, "Whoa, this place is different." When you walk in, the place just draws you in because of how cozy it is. It's very clean and green. Also, they carry ORGANIC products which is a big thing for me. I'm sure we've all been there when you explain to the colorist/stylist exactly what you want but it comes out rather different and you pretend to like it only to go home and convince yourself that it'll grow on you. Not here. Tiffany and Liz spent a great deal of time on my consultation prior to starting the service. They listened carefully and asked tons of questions to make sure we were on the same page. You could tell they genuinely cared and made every effort to make sure I was happy with the end result. In the end, I got EXACTLY what I asked for which I can't say has ever happened before. They totally nailed it and I left feeling like a million bucks. As I mentioned before, it was super affordable. I like a good deal as much as the next gal but would have paid more for the awesomeness. While there, they had lots of tasty snacks to nibble on and they even offered to order us lunch while we sat under the dryer (they have lots of menus to choose from in case hunger strikes). All in all, I applaud Tiffany and Liz for their mad skills in hair and their superior level of attention to detail and friendliness. I also thought the rest of the salon crew was great. You know how you go to some salons and it's not fun because everyone seems on edge and you can cut the air with a knife. Not Lure. Everyone is super chill and laid back so it makes for a very fun environment. Especially if you're getting more than one service and you're gonna be there a while. I'm not much for the salon experience, as a guy it's not something I have ever spent a lot of time or money on. But I've had enough bad haircuts at SportClips that I needed to make a change. Lure Salon is in my neighborhood, and has a good curb appeal so I made an appointment when I couldn't avoid the haircut any more. I was very happy to find that they're open late several nights a week which works well with my work schedule. Everyone was friendly when I arrived, they asked if I wanted anything to drink which was a good perk. It was a nice, laid-back, not too uppity atmosphere, which is something rare to find in Uptown, I guess. I couldn't have better things to say about the guy who cut my hair, Clint. He was confident in what he was doing, and I got the exact cut I was looking for, without having to direct him at all really. Also, he's just a dang nice guy who was interesting to talk to for the 45 minutes or so. I definitely recommend requesting him if you can. He is the only stylist that has actually made to 100% happy with every single cut I've come in for. The first appointment I came in to get my hair cut short, very short. He worked his magic and wow! Super perfect short hair cut. I grew my hair out from that one since I missed my long hair. But it grew out so well I didn't even have to go back for an update until my hair was almost neck length! Fast forward two years later, just went Saturday. My hair is now long. He whipped up the absolute perfect layers. Walked out of there feeling like royalty. I plan on going back for a color treatment soon, everyone at the salon is super nice, but more importantly. They are super good!!!! And if you're looking for any soecific product? They have it. First time here and I was a walk in. Not sure about the people that gave this place one star but as of the two visits I have been nothing but pleased. First time here I walked in on a busy Friday and they booked me for Saturday for a low level ( low price) stylist which would of been $50 for a full head lightener ( touching up my roots). They then had a opening and called me and I came in the same day and had a higher level stylist which made the price go up to $80. Still a great price I have a ton of hair and my roots were two weeks due. The salon gives you snacks and drinks. Everyone seemed like they worked well together, they have helpers to make the blow drying and color go faster. My favorite part was if you dont buy a blow dry like I didn't. They have a styling bar for clients to use with products and brushes etc and a stylist with extra time gave me a blow out for free. Over all for a uptown salon I didnt expect the price to be this low and the service to be this professional and accommodating. read more

I've found my forever salon and stylist!! FINALLY! I moved to Dallas over 7 years ago. I have been unable to find someone I trust, who gets me and my hair, who is available without having to wait months for an appointment and is not a fortune. However, after my experiences with Phillipe, I'd pay a lot more! WOW! He's amazing. I needed an absolute overhaul, he rose and delivered beautifully. He had his work cut out for him too. I'd been going to not-so-great salons for trims. Phillipe showed me just how bad my hair cuts have been. They were awful! No wonder i was ready to shave my head! This salon has great potential but the management is holding it back. They can not keep a stylist or colorist for any period of time. Every time I go in I am told my "person" has left.....don't waste your money on the dry bar, the styling is not up to par. While I have never had a problem with my cut or my color, I am rather tired of the stiff attitudes by those at the front and the way management continues to run off their talent. read more

I went to the stylist/owner on the recommendation of a friend. I told her I wanted the color to be lighter. After she did color & highlights I never saw or talked to her again. When the color didn't turn out right, she put something else on it. When they finished the wash I asked what the blow out and they said that would be extra. 2-1:2 hours, 75% more than they told me it would be, and a color darker than before and I left. I asked them to please have stylist/owner call me and never heard back. I continue to get feedback requests, as if this was a good experience. read more

I too purchased the Gilt City voucher for 4 blow-outs .. each time i have called to make an appt, they have been great and i have gotten right in (even a same day on a Saturday). Everyone is friendly and welcoming. Rachel and Tiffany are wonderful. Tiffany colored and corrected my previous highlight from another salon that was horrific, she took her time and was wonderful, love the results. Rachel has done several of my blowouts along with most recently a cut. superb experience. Scott is amazing. He really listens to what the client wants and does a beautiful combination of highlights and low lights. He doesn't just paint the "Dallas blonde highlights" on everyone. I was over-bleached with damaged and broken hair when I first came to Scott. He uses no-bleach highlights on me, and my hair is healthy and thicker now.
