Called and asked if they could fix a nail that had a charm that had fallen off. Needed French tip redone too bc it completely chipped off with the glue from the charm. The guy on the phone, I'm assuming is the manager, asked me questions and gave me the worst attitude. I had gotten my nails done from a friend who lives two hours away--he said, "can't your friend do it? We're busy" even though I had stated she couldn't because of the distance and he kept repeating that statement even though I also said I wouldn't be going in the day of but a different day. Very disrespectful considering I was a regular there, not anymore. It doesn't take much for someone to say "sorry we're busy at the moment". I understand environments like that can be stressful especially when busy but you do not treat customers like that or even potential customers. I even called a different nail salon and they have no problem fixing it for a small price. I went to this establishment a few weeks ago for pedicures with my two daughters. I went in for a regular pedicure and of course as I was seated, they upsold me on getting a gel pedicure because it is supposed to last longer. Fair enough. A few weeks go by and it's time for me to remove the polish. Low and behold under the polish I got a fungal infection on my big toe (I'll spare you all the photo.) I called the store to advise them of the discovery simply as a heads up to take a look at their cleaning methods. The man I spoke with took NO accountability and told me I needed to switch my gel polish every 2 weeks. How is this lasting me any longer than a regular pedicure that I originally wanted? Anyways, he told me to take care of my feet, again no accountability. I have never had this issue at any other establishment or even personally. I wasn't calling for a free handout, I was calling to make them aware. But needless to say- I won't be going back. Beware of this establishments cleanliness and customer service. One of the lady's told me to choose a color for my pedicure and then told me I couldn't get that color because it was "too light". She was very pushy. I also got a full set and my nails are crooked and the top coat already peeled off of one nail. She kept saying sorry, told me sorry at least 20 times when I would tell her she was hurting me! All I wanted was my acrylic nails off, that's it. Nothing on my nails, I wanted them bare. She took my real nails off and my nail beds. It hurts to wash my hands, my face, god forbid any food at all gets on them, it burns! It stings so bad, I don't wish this pain upon anyone. The lady did a good job with painting and removing excess cuticles but the massage was just okay and didn't cover the whole calf, mostly just to the shin. I also was disappointed both legs didn't get a new hot fresh towel, it was just one towel for both legs so by the time it covered one it wasn't that hot. I also got there on time for my appt, was waiting and soaking for 30 minutes and they served a lady that got there after myself. The nail color options for pedicures are limited. And I didn't see that paraffin wax was offered. It was more of a standard pedicure than a spa. For gel color and for minimum massage with scrub it was $45. read more

Overall, my experience was fine. My favorite nail shop closed and I was in need of getting a pedi and nails done asap due to going on vacation. When I walked in, they took me right away and both techs were very nice! There were some issues in that a) I had asked if they accepted AMEX and was told yes, (they don't) b) the tech that did my pedi did not give a massage which I was really confused about. I asked for a deluxe pedi, and I didn't really feel the deluxe. I paid slightly over $100 for dip and a gel pedi on Wednesday. It is now Friday and my gels are peeling off already. I was already apprehensive by the brands used but for not even two days of use is completely unacceptable. I don't get gels often, and when I do, I expect it to last more than two days. I most likely won't be returning, but wish them the best. read more

First time going in for a gel manicure and had the worse experience. I had picked a color and was told twice they couldn't do the colors I picked from their display. Once I sat down, a man took over the manicure. He was working in a rush and being rough, which I didn't like but I didn't say anything. After curing my first hand, I noticed the edges were bumpy and unpainted so I showed him and asked if he could fix it. He didn't seem happy but kept working in a rush and roughly. After the second coat I told him the edges are not evenly painted and bumpy. He got upset and said he does nails every day and knows what he's doing so I told him he didn't need to get mad and I've been to other salons where the edges are done evenly and not bumpy. He got more upset, grabbed my hand aggressively and pulled it in to continue working. By then I was uncomfortable and told him I did not want to continue so when I tried taking my hand back, he grabbed it tighter and pulled it closer. I had to stop, look at him and tell him "no" just to take my hand away from his grip. I told him I would pay for the work he's done so far but I'm not finishing the manicure there. I wasn't charged but left shocked that he got mad and pulled my hand twice. I will not be recommending this place to anyone and would have picked zero stars if I could. read more

Thanks a million to Ms. Heather and Ms. Van at Lush Nails & Spa! I took a chance on somewhere new in the Oxnard area and the result was above standard. Apparently, this place just came under new management a couples ago and it looked and smelled nice and clean, the workers are very welcoming and cheerful. The service was done professionally well with meticulous care and comfort. It was my first time here and definitely not our last! I brought along a couple first-time, spa goers with me. Mom and brother were visiting and we suddenly decided to hit up the nail salon for some nail care. It was awesome I was able to call for a same-day appointment. At our arrival, we were greeted and seated promptly to our spa chairs where we were able to wait for the next available tech, who could assist us further. In that time, they filled water for my guests' pedicure tubs to a comfortable temperature and we reviewed the menu options without feeling pressured or rush. We chose the two Premium Spa Pedicure ($36/each) done by the most experienced, Ms. Heather. And let me tell you, this woman worked haaard on a couple of uncared for pair of feet. The extensive callus removal is a MUST for my hardworking people and totally WORTH it. The massage lasted a nice time too, my mom almost fell asleep there. As for my brother, he enjoyed the massage chairs while he waited for his turn. Although, he was nervous for the worst kinds of pain or discomfort, he was admittedly impressed on how thorough and careful she was after all. We really appreciated Ms. Heather for her wonderful & excellent service! I chose the basic combo pedi & mani ($46). "Mini Van" is what she jokingly called herself to remember Ms. Van, super cool gal and fun to chat with. I like that she could educate me a bit on my questions I had about nail care. Most notably, I noticed how sanitary she worked by grabbing a new package that included fresh nail clippers, cuticle nippers and pushers for both my mani & pedi! I loved how she cared for my cuticle as I really emphasized I'm going for a clean and natural look this time around- a break from my usual acrylic or gel services I'd get in the past. But it's been awhile since I've been to the nail salon and I couldn't help myself- so I went for a regular color to compromise for my own wants I didn't have to pick the specific color off their swatches, just told her I wanted white and she delivered, painted it on my mani & pedi to match. The salon is very clean but the service is horrible I think the nail tech forgot who HE was working on he did my nails HIS way even though I told him how I wanted my nails since I was the paying customer, he didn't like that I would complain that he was hurting me I thought going to NAIL SPA was supposed to be a relaxing not painful experience. I had made my appointment ahead of time and had to wait half hour plus nail tech was working on 4 people at the same time this definitely isn't professional. Don't look at a client as if they are a dollar sign you want them to return. Let's hope he can improve how he works with clients. read more

David mentioned that he is the new owner of the business and is looking to make some upgrades to the equipment in the salon. The place I was recommended was under renovations so I thought I'd go on yelp to find another place. This was the top place. I went as a walk-in. Didn't mind waiting. They were a bit understaffed so I was willing to wait. Waited about 25 min and when seated. The woman dipped my hands in cold water for about 1 min and started cutting my cuticles very quickly. I hadn't had a manicure in months so for her to cut so quickly worried me. The filing was jagged and when I asked her to file them straighter she said they were fine, but filed a little bit more. I had two shades of yellow I wanted to try and she complained that if I tried both she'd have to redo the base coat. She finally relented and tried them on a fake nail. All in all the manicure took less than 15 min and looked like it. I got them redone somewhere else. read more
