I was perfectly fine with just having my nails done because that was the appointment I had actually scheduled, and not booking a pedicure was on me. My issue is that when my appointment time came, I was told I would still have to wait because there was another client ahead of me due to the salon being behind from taking walk ins. At that point, I had a scheduled appointment, and I should not have had to wait another hour. If appointments are consistently delayed because of walk ins, then there is really no point in making one. This is not the first time this has happened. I really do not like leaving negative reviews, but this has become a pattern, and it is very frustrating when you schedule your day around an appointment only to end up waiting well past your reserved time. Unfortunately, this was the final straw for me. I really like the quality of their work, but I am not willing to schedule an appointment only to wait an hour or more after my appointment time.

The manicure was incomplete, they left hang nails and my cuticles were not pushed back or completely trimmed. The polish was spotty and got on my skin. I was there for over 2 hours for this service. By Tuesday my gel manicure was lifting and peeling. I went in Thursday because most of my GEL POLISH had lifted or chipped off. I asked if i could speak to them and they just told me to sit down, i let them know what happened and they removed the remaining gel polish. I only wanted a refund for my manicure because gel polish shouldn't peel off so soon after applying. I was told that i shouldn't get gel because my nails are too oily, i explained that this has never happened before. They insisted i get a different color, however after my experience i didn't not want to. My nails were too thin after the gel removal so now i need to let them rest before i get another gel manicure (SOMEWHERE ELSE) Once i said "no, no color, just a refund please" their employee yelled something at me as he stood up and pointed me to the door. One of the workers spoke to me on my way out and only refunded me $15 for the "gel" but would not refund the other $25 because "i still received a manicure. Then i was just told to not do gel again. Gel wasn't the problem, they were ! it saddens me because i seldomly treat myself to a mani/pedi and this felt like a waste of money for a horrible experience. 0/10 recommend, SAVE YOUR TIME AND MONEY!

the example of what I showed the employees asking them for what I wanted and then that is what I got.. not even close. As they were doing my nails, I voiced already how it was looking and they told me not to worry. They were very rough handling my hands and fingers the woman doing my nails also would not stop glaring at me and They were very rude and I can't imagine what they were saying in their native language. I like to go from salon to salon to try out there new styles but this was by far the worst experience I've had. The lady Maggie tried to say that is because they were long and not everybody has experience with it, which I agree but if someone is not qualified to do the job why have them attempt?. To top it off, instead of taking responsibility for the mistake, they got deffensive and started to make me feel that it was my fault. Overall it was a horrible job and unpleasant experience I would not recommend this salon to anybody. read more

In the past I've been to other salon's but in my experience, Romantic Nail is THE BEST in Ventura. I used to get acrylics but I got tired of that look and now I do gel manicures every 3 weeks.
