Wonderful items in this store-the staff is more than willing to do a demo to show you how their products work. I love their massage bars. I'd pick these scents over Bath & Body Works any day. Normally when I go to Lush ALL of the employees are very friendly! I shop at both the Roseville and Arden locations. Today for the very first time I experienced an extremely unfriendly employee. I really wanted to make lush my first stop store at the galleria. I've gone there twice in the last six weeks. That place can kill a good shopping vibe. Both times the girl in front was short with me. Never a smile. I have spent well over a hundred dollars each visit, and attempted to again today. Had a horrible experience here as a first time customer. After hearing so many great things about Lush, and their top of the line ingredients, I decided some of their skincare products would make a great gift for my mothers birthday. So, I went in yesterday to purchase some items for her. Its a small store, and was very crowded so I didn't feel like I could really explore thier products. I chose two lotions for my mom and went on my way. After making the purchase, arriving home to wrap them for her, I took a peek at the ingredient label. Much to my dismay and utter disappointment I see that their products contain PARABENS. My mother is a breast cancer survivor, and parabens are on the long list of chemicals that she cannot use. Shame on me for not checking at the store, but they were so crowded I felt overwhelmed and rushed. I checked thier return policy, it states: return product with original reciept within 31 days of purchase for a full refund. So I brought the items back for a refund. I was assisted by thier "manager" named Noah. Because my fiancee´ payed for the lotion with his debit card, and he was at work I didn't have the card with me. Nowhwere does the policy state I need to have the card with me for a return. Noah would not assist me, just told me what their policy was- which is NOT STATED ANYWHERE, he would not show me any policy. He wrote a number down on paper and told me to call their customer support number and they will assist me further. I was frustrated with his lack of customer service. He was impatient and shook his head at me multiple times, and carried an attitude. I left the store, called the number he gave me... Only to find out he gave me a PHONY NUMBER. I turned around and went back in to get a real number, and Noah was nowhere to be found. The kid is a snake. Luckily the kind ladies that have to work under that coward searched for a legit number I could call for assistance. I'm very dissatisfied, and unbelievably dissapointed. I'm stuck with poisonous product that my mother cannot use, and neither can I because I am high risk for breast cancer. PARABENS are a banned ingredient for skincare products in all of Europe because of thier cancer causing effects. Will not spend another penny there on their poisonous concoctions. read more

Was very excited to be visiting from the Bay. Unfortunately, the service was TERRIBLE! It's LUSH so at least the products still rock, but I didn't purchase anything after what happened. There were three girls working. Two of them were busy assisting other customers, so I guess I had to draw the short stick and get stuck with what was most likely their worst employee. She didn't make a move to come out from behind the register to talk to me, but she didn't appear to be doing anything either. I was about a foot away from her trying one of the Toothy Tabs. I knew it was toothpaste and I planned on spitting it out. I was shocked because the flavor was awful. When the girl behind the register saw me struggling she sat, very flatly: "That's toothpaste, it's written on the sign" with a tone that said: Can't you read? A girl offered me some water to swish with but I declined. I started to leave and just before hitting the door, the same girl behind the register laughed really hard and said to one of the other girls: "Oh my god, how hard is it to read a sign?" I enjoy the wide variety they offer. From massage bars to bubble bath to scrubs. Great place to get a last minute gift or just to treat yourself to something special. Now with that said, I will say that the feeling of being pressured by the staff to purchase is a little annoying. I went on a friends recommendation. She said you gory try the Buffy butter soap. I thought I knew all about exfoliating. This was way different as I emerged from my shower feeling like I was covered In lotion . It's unique . Not cheap, but I think it's worth a try. I also got some American hair conditioner and a small lotion. I am testing the waters out. The shop is colorful . I like the fact that no animal testing is done. I love lush! I make it a point to go to lush everytime I see one. this time I went in to pick up some aquamarine ( but it looked a bit strange to me. I usually see it fully wrapped in seaweed but this one had it only wrapped halfway and there was salt on it. At first I was a bit confused the nice saleslady came and explained that it always comes with sea salt on top and I probably don't see it because I pick up the precut containers. As I was paying she was even nice enough to throw in a soap as a gift! Yay! The soap was probably from their Easter promo (it was wrapped in Easter print cello bags ) but hey! Free soap! Friendly employees but always seem to be out of stock (which is the store, even though they'll blame supplies -- Arden doesn't run out of things like my cleanser nearly as fast and they're way busy). Also really don't let you shop in peace. I appreciate the input and I know it's their job, but if I politely state that I'm just restocking on a few favorites and don't need your help, I expect you to take the hint. I love this place. If you're willing to spend a bit more, it's so worth it. I mean, any product that doesn't hurt and test on animals is 100% worth the extra money out of my pocket! James (I believe was his name.) helped me during my last visit, and I can't thank him enough! I'm pregnant and my skin has been terrible! Being as I had to take myself off my acne meds, l knew what I had to do - I had to go to Lush to get all natural products. I came in with a list of the items I specifically wanted; exactly what I needed to help my poor skin! Some I had used before, but some I had not. After helping me find all of the products i wanted (or should I say needed...) he was so sweet to send me home with some samples! I know a LOT of times (most times really...) you have to be prepared for the employees of Lush to be down your throat, trying to get you to buy other products. Not James. He honestly just went down my list, and after noticing a pattern with the acne fighting items, sent me home with other things that could help as well. Never once did he try to get me to buy more..just sample. I will definitely be back for sure for the products that I've used before and know I love, and hopefully I found new loves as well. read more

My girlfriend and I entered the store and were immediately greeted by three screeching women. All the echoing hard surfaces did not help. The following 15 minutes became an endurance test as each of the three sales associates continuously vaguely and loudly offered help. We listened as another couple made the mistake of asking a question. The answer was loud, piercing, and vague about how the product is "super-awesome for when your skin doesn't know what it's doing." On the plus-side, they did cut my soap for me, but then had everyone in the store smell my freshly-cut soap. As we were checking out, my girlfriend was loudly scolded for not knowing that the perfume testers were hidden behind the display. Out of all the loud offers for help, you'd think they would offer help rather than yelling at you. We got the soap home, and it began shrinking and giving off water. In the industry, this means the soap was "uncured." Given that they sell the soap by the pound, this means you're basically paying for water, but whatever. The soap smelled great, but had no lather. The ingredients in some of their other products are cheap and hazardous, including parabens and sulfates. With so many other great bath and body stores out there that are selling higher-quality products for the same price, I guess Lush survives solely on the brand experience. I was turned on to Lush before they even came Galleria. They have natural, wonderful smelling products. I love the bath bombs for gifts and the moments I have time to take a relaxing bath. For face porducts, coalface is the best for my skin at least. Lush has wonderful massage bars and bubble bars as well. I recently discovered Lush. OMG! OMG!! They have the most delicious smelling soaps and creams in here!! Their 'Karma' cream almost made me go over the edge!! Their 'Karma' perfume is the icing on the cake as far as I am concerned. You can literally smell this place at least 5 stores away and it is lucious!! (or is that Lush-ous?) Multicolored bath bombs galore. Smooth massage bars that have the most wonderful smell to them! I have very sensitive skin and I have no problems with the products in here. My fiancee' sent me out here all the way from Lincoln to pick something up for her that she wanted for a while now. I couldn't purchase the $6 item I was sent for because I didn't have an I.D... Let me just say this is the first time I have ever had identification requested by anybody while using a DEBIT card. I myself am a cashier, and everybody knows if someone isn't given a negotiable option for a payment method with a card, that you don't check I.D. for a mere purchase of SIX DOLLARS... I'm not trying to down-talk someone too severely but I did see someone else make a purchase with a card and wasn't requested I.D. This clearly was personally against me and I feel like a fool for not bringing cash. The person that helped me was nice I suppose. I'm giving the store this good of a rating because it would't be fair to the other staff to give a poor rating. read more

The fact that I've committed to writing this is unexpected, I would never wish to leave a review with one star, especially for a Lush store. It's a very sad day to say the least, as I've enjoyed Lush products and have even blogged about the Oatifix mask on my blog: Taohyun-review.blogspot.com Although the experience I received on my last visit was rather uncomfortable, believe me this is nothing new to me with a retail skin care store, of course employees will continue to walk up to you with suggestions and offer samples and their assistance. To say the least that's fine, somehow it's acceptable although it's unbelievably unnecessary to continuously approach the same customer when they've already kindly told you to 'back off' in a sense. I currently work at a retail skin care store and I always know when enough is enough, not only this, but I've never placed any customer in such amount of discomfort they've wrote a review like this one. I came in a week or two ago on Saturday night, I was only looking for bath bombs and went directly to the left side of the store will all of them in sight. There was a fairly 'bigger' and no I do not mean she was 'big' at all. Although, she wasn't considerably skinny like the other female employees. In other words, the lady who approached me was just at a healthy, average weight. I was just looking at my options when she came up to me (mind you, she's stocking products right behind me) and places her hand on my shoulder while saying, "Hey, if you any questions or need any product recommendations, I am here for you so just remember that, okay?" I've never had an employee hold onto my shoulder which was rather odd, although I just told her, "Thank you, but. . I'm fine, I'm just choosing a few bath bombs." I don't think five seconds passed when she placed her hand on my shoulder again and said, "are you sure you have no questions, you are absolutely positive? Because, I'm here, and I'm not just here. . I am here for you okay, if you need anything, I will be right there." This is where it became unusual, I didn't even know what to think but just responded with my initial response. About thirty seconds or so passed and I had picked a bath bomb, although I was still looking for another to choose from. That's when the same employee placed her hand on my shoulder again, then rudely said, "Do you even know what you're grabbing?" I replied with a calm and settle, "Yes, I'm aware of what I'm getting." I turned around but only a second had passed when she said, "It doesn't look like it, are you sure you know what you're grabbing? Seriously, I am here for you, I will be here for you when you need anything." I was then just over what this employee was spouting about, "I'm aware, there's descriptions on the label, why. . Do you doubt me?" I told her. She then let out a gasp as if I had offended her like never before, she said, "No, no. It's not that, just. . I mean, I am here if you need absolutely everything, just remember that, okay?" I just grabbed my 2nd bath bomb and decided to go into the line, I honestly couldn't stand there anymore and converse with this employee. There was a male who then rung me up and I just quickly got out of the store, I was afraid the employee might chase after me too, I was walking very quickly since the experience was anything but pleasant. In addition, this store doesn't give any samples for the fresh face masks which is fairly disappointing. I'm glad that it was me who happened to experience this too, there's people who honestly may have very well went off on this employee. If the store manager sees this, please address this matter or even make the staff go through a workshop. . There's a fine line between inquiring about whether a customer could use some assistance and gradually beginning to harass the customer after they've assured a staff member they don't need assistance. What a mess. . I may very well just stick to the Lush store at Arden, I would sooner walk out without any products than go through that experience again. read more

I am new to Lush products, but I can say that every time I've gone into this store I am greeted by multiple employees and all are more than willing to answer questions about the various products. I got the hair moisturizer R&B and with one use I notice a difference in my hair. This product also gives hair a bit of hold. I am currently using this as a setting lotion for pin-curls and it keeps my hair fly-away free, soft, and in excellent condition for all weather.These products are 100% cruelty-free and the containers are 100% recycled plastic. On every product every ingredient is listed and it shows you a photo of the person who made the specific batch for the product. Lush also carries a wide variety of products, They cover makeup, hair products, shampoos and conditioners, bath bombs, soap, etc., etc. Excellent place to go if you are looking for natural products. I have always been a big fan of Lush products. I usually go to Lush every couple of months to pick up various bath bombs, soaps, and face masks, so since my friend had to pick some stuff up from the Galleria, I figured I'd check out the Lush at this location. The first thing I noticed was that they don't have as big of a selection as the other location in Arden. Not that big of a deal I guess, because I still found a few of the items I wanted. But you might want to call ahead if you are looking for something in particular here. The employees seemed friendly for the most part, but they're kind of stingy with samples. It was weird, because they are pretty generous at other Lush stores and will let you have a sample of anything you want to try out. I was curious about their face cleansers, and wanted to try 2 of them. During checkout, after the employee behind the register asked me and made sure I didn't have sensitive skin, she was about to give me the samples when another lady came out of nowhere and was like, why don't you just try one of them first! Umm okay........I'm a paying customer, I'm not just trying to swindle a bunch of free samples out of you. I just wanted to try the first one for a few days and then the next one after that, to see which one I should buy next time. So minus one star for lack of selection and another star for how stingy some of their employees are. Oh well, good thing Arden is only 10 minutes away from me. read more

There's a reason this place has a great rating and most reviews are extremely positive. Have been shopping Lush for years, and will never go anywhere else for my hygiene products. Yes, technically the upfront costs are expensive, but one $40-$50 bottle of shampoo lasts me anywhere from 6-10 months, not even kidding, so in the long run I'm actually saving money, and receiving a high quality organic and environmentally friendly product from a company that is conscientious of it's impact on the world. The employees are so incredibly nice and helpful. The reviewer who said she gets bombarded every time, I can definitely see why they feel that way, cause sometimes I feel the same, but quite frankly it's a tiny store and there doesn't seem much to do other than help customers xD read more
