I chose lushspaw due to the high reviews it had. However I quickly regretted my decision as soon as I spoke to my dogs groomer. Initially asking for a cut, she suggested my chow mix shouldn't have a full cut. While I agree, my dog is 8, getting him groomed his whole life, had his hair cut his whole life, and I've had no issues. I then called back after leaving my dog bc I had a bad feeling she didn't know what she was doing. I asked for a simple full body trim/cleanup. Upon picking him up, I didn't get a trim, my dog got a full "cut" which I was initially asking for. Can't imagine what he would've looked like if she actually did her version of a "cut". AND she asked ME what clipper size.. shouldn't she know that?? Few weeks later, my dog gets a yeast infection in one of his ears. He has NEVER had any type of ear infection. The vet said these infections can be due to inadequate drying after a bath.... So now $250 vet bill later, I am now having to clean out my dogs ear, administer ear drops and another ointment. Tina was the best! My grooming appointment was such a positive experience from start to finish. The team was really friendly and welcoming, and they made me feel comfortable right away. Tina took her time and clearly knew what she was doing--she communicated well about what my pet needed and made sure everything looked great. When I picked up my pup, she was bleeding. They said it was because she was resisting getting on the table and hit herself. They also didn't cut her nails because they said she was trying to bite--Which I find very odd because she's been groomed at lush spaw before with no issues. She came back home, pawing at her injured area and licking it all day. They did not refund us for not doing the nails. We also paid extra for deshedding, but she was shedding a lot afterwards so I'm wondering if they even did the deshedding on her. And usually they put them in cute bandanas, but this time there was none. Was this guy just really new and incompetent? I've been to the el Camino location and they did a great job. We didn't do deshedding, yet my pup came back with little to no shed at all. So why did I pay extra only for her to come back injured, shedding, nails untrimmed, and also a little wet?! I feel so bad for my dog, I'm never going to put her through this again. I would advise dog owners to avoid booking with new (male) groomers. The one we had was too inexperienced. read more

Took my Pomeranian to get a full groom today. Get a phone call 2 hours later that they ripped out his entire nail. The groomer was Jefferson. Didn't even have the decency to make the call to notify me himself. Instead had the receptionist call me. Now at the emergency vet for antibiotics and pain control. My pet has no issues with his nails before. Horrible groomer, didn't even seem to care what he put my dog through. Incompetent. They've lost my business and trust. I have been bringing my dog to Lush Spaw at Winchester for almost 3 years now. I have always liked the decent prices, well-done grooming, and the option to request anal gland expression as part of the service. However, since Haley and Keda left, my experience has noticeably declined. Heather groomed my dog twice. The first appointment took nearly 4 hours (when it is normally an average of 2-2.5 hours), and he returned home with an irritated ear that developed into a mild yeast infection. Giving her a second chance, the next grooming resulted in a few small nicks along with razor burn. Afterward, I decided to give Tina a try based on positive Yelp reviews. Despite living 40-45 minutes away (after moving 1.5 years ago), I remain a loyal customer. I was running a little late that day due to the traffic and arrived before the 15-minute late cut-off I had previously been told. Tina was immediately rude and said I missed the cut-off already. Her attitude made me uncomfortable leaving my dog in her care. I had booked the bath with face/feet/fanny trim and asked for some small trimming on the legs due to a small shaved area from a vet visit. Tina noted that leg trimming was not included. It would require booking a full grooming service and that she will not do it nor had the time. When I asked if a discounted grooming rate was possible for the minimal leg trim (since I do not need the rest of his body trimmed, hence why I booked face/feet/fanny), the answer was no. She offered no alternative solution and said nothing could be done. The interaction lasted 5 minutes or so and was extremely unpleasant. Additionally, the new receptionist was also unhelpful and unfriendly, a stark contrast to the previous staff. I ultimately canceled the appointment and did not want to reschedule with them. After 3 years of loyalty, I am disappointed to say I will no longer be returning to this location ever again. Update: I ended up booking a full grooming appointment at the Union Ave location instead for the next day, as I really needed my dog groomed for an engagement photoshoot the following week. Let me just say, they automatically changed and charged me for the bath plus face/feet/fanny add-on (without me mentioning anything) since what I was asking for was LITERALLY so minimal. (Thank you, Union Ave staff!) Therefore, what I initially booked was correct, and Tina was being rude and difficult. read more

Okay so this review is long overdue because I wanted to gatekeep, because I love lush spaw and I'm easily able to get appointments on short notice, buuuut I feel bad now and want to write a review lol as you can tell this is my favorite grooming salon!! I always get the "lush bath" for my girl and I find it very worth it / reasonably priced considering how thoroughly they do their job. (Whenever I'd take my dog to other grooming places they would never do her nails properly, and she was very anxious to go in despite being a huge people-lover and I felt so sad. I'm disabled and it's difficult for me to do her bathing etc on my own). But she's always soooo excited when we go in and she sees Cristian, it makes my day because you can tell he truly loves dogs. It's so hard to find a cat groomer and Christian (a groomer there) does groom cats and he does a great job. I've also had a variety of all the other groomers that work there groom my dogs, and we've always been extremely happy and satisfied!
