I will not be returning. Went in to get a manicure last minute before dinner. It was ok. I had to direct the guy doing my nails multiple times to clean cuticles he left behind and even wipe off the polish that was on my skin after he was "finished". The job was very rushed. I have had MANY manicures in my time and they always give you some kind of hand massage (some better some not as great), but this time no hand massage at all. I gave 2 stars because the place was clean and had decent color selection. Not sure if they are better with pedicures but from what I experienced, I would guess not. read more

I called and made appointments for two pedicures. We arrived a few minutes prior to our appointment time. Upon entering, our first impression was the overwhelming smell of chemicals. We were told that the five walk in customers who arrived just before us would be serviced and that the salon was not able to meet our appointments. Two stars for the very limited color selection & the quality of the polish and for the man that greets you when you walk in...he is VERY rude. The pedicures are great-massage chairs, polish always looks great (even with the limited color selection) and the color lasts a long time. This used to be my favorite nail place to go but they seem to be under new management and the quality has declined significantly. Under old management the nail techs took their time and did and expert job. It was a relatively​ consistent experience no matter which nail tech did your nails. Under new management it's a crapshoot in terms of quality. The person that seems to be in charge does and excellent job but the others are mediocre at best. The last time I went the tech rushed and didn't do a great job. I could have given myself a better pedicure at home. I won't be back. read more

I have gone to this place multiple times and have been very happy, however today I got a mani pedi and was very disappointed with my manicure. The woman doing my nails didn't understand what I was asking her to do and the color was painted on unevenly and my nails were left rugged at the ends. read more

This place is very cute! The interior is organized, well furnished, and doesn't have a strong smell at all. I've had acrylics done here several times and they are always shaped beautifully. I took off a star just cause wait times can be lengthy but otherwise well worth it! read more

My daughter and I have gotten our pedicures regularly at Luv Nails for several years and have always been happy with the quality of the work. The salon is a very clean and efficient place, and their prices are quite reasonable (pedi is $26). We usually go as walk-ins and they have plenty of staff on hand and accomodate us quickly. The staff is polite, but they do not talk to us very much...but we are fine with that. We sit back in the massage chair and read a magazine and feel pampered! It is a nice place to get a good mani or pedi at a great price. read more

I read all of the reviews, and decided to give this place a shot. I didn't mind the employees talking with each other the majority of the time, except my manicurist seemed to get annoyed when I did not respond immediately the couple of times that she was actually speaking to me. Although my pedicure looks lovely, she actually removed some of my skin when she was exfoliating my feet. A day later, my foot still hurts. As for the manicure; even though I paid (and tipped her well) prior to her working on my hands, the manicure looks no better than when I do it myself. All in all, I would not go back. If I am going to pay someone to perform this service, I will pay a little more to have it look professional and leave me without a painful scrape on my foot. read more

I live on the Northside of Chicago but was in the area for a work function that evening. I had some time beforehand so I thought I would pop in for a manicure. Facilties: very nice and it appears to be well kept. The tools also look to be clean/well maintained also. No complaints here Color selection : a wide variety of choices Service: I only got a manicure so I can't speak to their other services but I really thought it was going to be good given the amount of time and attention that was spent on my cuticles. However, the lady did a terrible job on the actual paint job and didn't clean up the spots where she got on my skin. On some nails she left huge chunks of nail unpainted even. I also wasn't aware that apparently there was such a thing as textured nail polish. Well there is....just so you're aware so read the bottle. I guess this wasn't their fault other than maybe telling me before she got half way done that my nails would look like painted sand if I picked that color. I'm not one to cause a fuss so I just kept it to myself...so that's on me. But i will be removing the polish as soon as I get home. Finally something that REALLY bugs me is when someone will look at me and ask if I want something waxed when I didn't ask for it. It makes me feel like a wookie and frankly is just rude. I understand it's a sales tactic but still. When I decline once please don't ask a second or third time. Payment: if you don't have cash know you'll need to ask.to put the tip on your card. I wasnt told that up front. ..so avoid that awkwardness if you can. Conclusion: I won't go back again, nor when I'm in the area again. Sorry guys! read more

I've been to this place three times. The first time my daughter and my experience was wonderful, the place was not crowded and the service was great. The second time I went (5/31/18) the nail tech stopped in the middle of doing my powder manicure to do a pedicure on another customer who had just walked in. The last time I went which was today(6/1/18) the nail tech was about to do my daughters polish change and powder manicure but stopped in the midst of beginning to service her to service another lady who was a walk- in for a pedicure. I was livid; as this was the second time in two days that this place stopped servicing myself and my daughter to service other customers who did not have appointments. It's hard to believe that this was not a racial issue. My money is just as good as a white woman's money and the fact that we were pushed aside for other women to be serviced AFTER we were in the midst of being serviced is unacceptable. read more

i've been coming to luv nails for a very long time. usually when i come in i get in and out pretty quickly. the last few times i've been here i've had poor service and not to mention subpar nails after i leave. today i walked in and waited for someone to ask what i was in for (which is what they usually do), instead nobody said anything to me until i was sitting for about 10 minutes. she asked what i wanted and i said a fill, she just walked away. as of right now i've been sitting and waiting for about 45 minutes waiting to be taken. another woman who had just walked in was taken before me. after waiting for an hour, one girl said 5 more minutes until i would be taken, after 15 more minutes i left. extremely disappointed and will never be back. read more

I am new to the area and was looking for a salon to visit regularly so I physically went in to the salon to show them my nails and ask if they had the natural pink color I usually choose. I was told by the owner (wife) that they had the color and I made an appointment for the following day. When I showed up for the appointment I was asked by the same person to choose my paint color...I showed her my nails again and said I would like the light pink I showed her the previous day. She said they couldn't do that color and called her husband over to look. He said they would be a darker pink color and I explained I had been there before I made the appointment. He said I hadn't shown anyone my nails and told me to sit down and he would do my nails. He then loudly stated to the full salon that I had NOT been there before and started talking about me to another customer. I walked out and will NEVER be back. read more
