I hired Lux Driver Solutions to install an aftermarket CarPlay and backup camera kit for my car, and I seriously could not be happier with the experience. I had originally tried installing the kit myself, but quickly got in over my head with the wiring. By the time I gave up, my entire center console was taken apart and I had screws and parts scattered everywhere. **THIS IS MY HONEST REVIEW** ***Updated as of 10/30/25*** The technician or Installer showed up, and everything seemed promising and I was excited. Damian was the person who helped me. He seemed really nice and was trying his best to make sure everything went smoothly. It was 9:10 am and he told me it would take about 2 hours. At about 12:30pm I reached out to see how much longer it will take and he told me the Amp I had already purchased was fried. (I've had it since 2018). So, I bought a new one with him and he installed it. It was 2:00 pm and still haven't heard from him saying it was finished. So, I took my lunch (I was at work) and went to go check in and see if everything was ok. He told me to turn on the car to hear the music and all these warning lights appeared which worried me a lot. He then told me he needed to reset it. It will be 10 min (2:10 pm). I waited right next to the car and just sat on my phone waiting. He then told me 20 min. I got back inside my office and ate my lunch worrying about the car having an issue (Brand new car bought it a week ago, 2026 Honda Civic). I reached out to a friend, and they told me to drive the vehicle down the block, and the lights should go away (2:35pm). Now its 2:52 pm and he hasn't said a word, so I texted him saying what my friend said. I drove down the block, and the lights went away within a 100 ft drive. I come back and show him the lights went away. He reinstalled the sub and the amp told me it was ready by 3:20 pm. Everything seemed to work. He left all his wrappings and trash for the new amp in my car. I tried to pay him and his zelle, venmo did not work and finally got it work through apple pay. I am not trying to be one of those customers that leave bad reviews and typically I want to leave good reviews not bad ones. Total it was $795.96 which to me was expensive and I just decided to do it because we were in the process. I am glad that everything is working so far but I will not recommend them because the process of everything and the hassle was stressful. I wish I went to the place I originally got a quote at because the service and professionalism was great and I really thought they were expensive but for the experience and service I should of went with them instead. I am sorry I am leaving this review, but I strongly relied on the 5 stars you had. I strongly suggest anyone else who read through this to please go with someone else because the issue after issue was very stressful. Updated!!!!! Today, my car wouldn't turn on at all. I had no idea what to do so I bought jumper cables to try to jump start my car but needed to go to work. I bought an uber to go to work just so I didn't have to take PTO. I reached out to Damien and he told me how he connected everything correctly. I told him that I don't believe he did and I think the amp is draining my battery. I was finally able to start my car this afternoon and drove it around a bit to make sure it will be ok. I reached out again because after 2 hours of driving it the amp light was still on and won't turn off. This is not normal and it should have turned off. He tries to fix it and I decided I don't want him to touch my car because I don't trust his work. I asked for a partial refund at least for my uber, jumper cables and taking it to the other shop and he told me no. Apparently taking accountability is foreign to small businesses because you obviously made a mistake and couldn't do the right thing. read more
