I always make a point to review great experiences with great companies, because in reality, most people will only find the time to post the negative ones... I couldn't have been more impressed with the level of service Johnny from Calibred Customs provided. He was quick to respond to my questions and he was in constant communication once I decided to have him hardwire install my dash cam. You can definitely trust reading the positive reviews he has here, in which he has earned. He was able to accommodate the day I requested for the install to be done and he showed up on time! Not a minute past! He explained the process, along with the estimated time he would be done. He also addressed a few more questions and requests I had, which made me even more confident in his abilities to get the job done, and done right. I also appreciated the fact he discussed placement of the cameras and wanted my feedback. Johnny was able to install the dash cams within the time frame he estimated and he took his time to explain the set up, and also went over the operating features. I never felt rushed throughout the process. And on top of all that, the actual installation looks seamless and it you can tell it was definitely done by a pro. In my opinion, Johnnys expertise and knowledge brings so much value to the custom services he provides and for my specific install, he over delivered with the service requested. Calibred Customs upgraded the stereo Blindspot monitoring and put a back up camera in my Lexus GS 300. I previously was hit by a car that was in my blindspot so - I love that I am warned with a light on my dash and beeping that indicates a car is approaching. Now I feel safe. After getting some ridiculous estimates for dash cam installation (seriously, like more than twice the price of the dash cam system itself), I decided to go with Johnny at Calibred because - 1) he's mobile, 2) he has numerous positive reviews specifically for dash cam installation and 3) his estimate was more than fair. After messaging, Johnny came out to my work to install my dash cam. I was told from the previous shops I received estimates from that the work would take about 4 hours. Johnny told me he would have it done in about an hour. I was incredibly skeptical. However, roughly 1 hour later, he messaged back and let me know that everything was completed. Sure enough, he had installed the dash cam, had it powered up and working and even was able to explain a little bit about how it operated. The installation is perfect. I see absolutely no unsightly wires. In fact, it took me a bit to find where he had actually installed the external battery because it was so well hidden. I've had the dash cam for a few days now, and everything has worked as it should - recording initiated when it should, the external battery is functioning perfectly and parking mode, which was one of the main reasons I bought the dash cam that I bought, has worked flawlessly. I have no idea why anybody would go to a shop to wait multiple hours and spend way too much money when an option like Calibred exists. Highly recommended. read more

Highly recommend. I needed a new power trunk installed on my 2020 TM3. Johnny of Calibred Customs came highly recommended by a friend. Despite his busy schedule, Johnny was very responsive and helpful in directing where to purchase parts needed (including a great discount) and making the arrangements to have the install done at my home (which I think was more of an inconvenience to his team, but they made it happen). His installer Justice was prompt, friendly, worked fast, removed all the equipment and cleaned up everything. Install works perfect and feels fully OEM. Johnny came way out of his normal service area and installed a speaker activation harness and sub in my 2025 Model Y. The harness didn't fit and he customized it on the spot, now works flawlessly. I had Johnny install a Hansshow Power Frunk on my Tesla Model Y 2022 and a Front/Rear Dash Cam on my wife's Volvo XC90. Both installs were completed in 2hrs. Johnny is very professional and knows what his doing. His fast and neat. Honestly the Dash is wired and hidden so well you would think it's OEM. The power frunk opens and closes as it's suppose to with no gaps. The power Frunk is a game changer if you plan on using the frunk on the Tesla. I'm very impressed. I contacted Johnny to install the Hansshow Power Trunk Lift gate + Foot sensor on my Tesla Model 3 since he's one of their official LA area installers. Here's a summary of my experience: Communication: He responded to all my questions in a prompt manner and provided thorough communications prior to the installation day. Punctuality and Length of Work: He arrived on time, answered any questions that I had, and finished the work in 2 hours. Quality: His quality of work was top notch, professional, clean, and impeccable. Trunk closes perfectly, foot sensor works as it was intended, and wires are completely hidden as if no one ever touched the car. You could definitely tell that he's installed a ton of these and it comes easy to him. Cost and Warranty: Just right, in line with his quality of work and mobile convenience. Accepts Venmo. 5 years ago, Johnny did a magnificent job installing dash cams on our 2 vehicles. Years later, one of the camera housings got fogged up because air made it through that tiny gap created by the wire. One text to Johnny and he was there and fixed it in a minute! He's thorough, responsive, professional, and simply the greatest person around. He has a surgeon's level mastery of vehicle electronic systems that baffles me, as he can take apart and put things back together without blinking. Highly recommended for any high end cars. Bought the hannshow auto frunk for my Tesla and attempted to install with a buddy. Absolutely couldn't get frunk closed properly for the life of us. Wasted 6 hours troubleshooting!!!Ended up removing. Messaged Johnny on Yelp and he was able to come out in the next two days to fix the issue. An hour and some change later on the day he came over, my auto frunk is nice and flush and working properly. My buddy and I would not have figured out how Johnny did it for quite some time as we were diagnosing the issue incorrectly. Should have just went with these guys from the beginning. Don't make the same mistake!! Will definitely be referring to other friends. read more

Johnny was super accommodating. Basically found at time that worked for both of us and then installed a trunk kick sensor on our new Tesla Model 3 while I was upstairs back at work. Texted me when he was done, tested it and everything looked good so we shook hands and parted. Only later did I find out the pieces I gave him to install had an issue (100% part problem not installation) and he was so helpful troubleshooting over message and even came by another day to see if he could figure out a fix and he did! If you aren't sure if they can help you, definitely just ask. If the answer is "yes" you won't have regrets working with them. read more

Johnny at Calibred customs installed an upgraded sound system (sub/amp/wiring) in my Tesla model 3 standard +. He activated all the previously inoperable speakers and seamlessly installed the sun/amp I bought from Hansshow Auto parts. So Hansshow was a bit of a nightmare and took forever to arrive but Johnny held my hand through the entire process and even reached out to them on my behalf. He was available at all hours to text and keep me updated on process. On day of install he arrived on time and the install took exactly as long as he said it would. So nice to not even have to leave my house!! I would highly recommend Johnny. My car sounds AMAZING after his install. read more

5/24/19 install of 2 channel mirror cam in both of our model x's Johnny arrived on time for my 12pm appointment. Initially, only my car was going to get a 2 channel installed since my husband wanted to keep the rear cam in cabin to keep an eye on our girls. However, after seeing the end results, he decided to also have it done. I had a thin version of the "cord hider" on my windshield glass so he wasn't sure if he could hide the wiring in the same casing with my cam. I guess he normally installs blackvues so this was his first time doing a mirror cam. Luckily, he was able to nicely hide it and provide a clean look. He sourced the powder under the Driver's foot well. At the end of my install, the mirror cam wasn't working and we had to wait until my husband got home for more 411. It turns out the voltage on the cam was lower so the cam wouldn't even turn on. My husband tried to let him know that's why he kept his plugged into the cigarette lighter due to this issue. He assured my husband he has been doing this for a while and he can do a work around. Not sure how he did it but he was able to do a quick fix and viola, the mirror came started working. It was a beautiful job and I am so glad I didn't further attempt the electrical myself. My husband got his done as well and Johnny was able to route the power the same way to save us a cigarette lighter port to be freed for use. It took about 2 hours each (4hours total) and despite the warm weather in the garage, he still worked with a smile on his face. I really tried to offer him lunch but he kept on declining it. All he accepted was a water and ice. Before he departed, my husband asked for him to center his rear cam positioning which he did without problems. Payment method had some kinks but we were able to work it out. He accepts Venmo and check payments. No credit card as the fees were really high and he would have to pass it onto is consumers. Johnny is very professional and we both are very happy with the end results. It's super hard finding someone who knows Tesla's so he is definitely someone I would highly recommend for neatness, efficiency, knowledge and professionalism. During my negative experience with another installer, I received more support, more useful and accurate information from Impero than from the place I was having issues with at the time. In retrospect, I would've been better off had I just gone to Impero again right away with my new car, but I wanted a specific brand of tint that Impero isn't offering (for good reason, as I now know) so I went with a different installer (who even charged more). I can't recommend Impero highly enough to anyone looking to get their windows tinted, or their car wrapped, Kristina really seems to always keep up with the latest products and knows what's currently best on the market.

However when I got there, he quoted me $240 because he had to install a custom bracket for the rear camera. (The custom bracket was just a piece of plastic taped to the rear headrest.) I did not have much time so I agreed to do it. A couple months later, the dash cam stopped working. When I contacted him regarding the issue, he quoted me $80 for a diagnostics fee. I went with someone else who did it for a fraction of that price. I guess it was my fault that I paid for his service. If you're a customer, ASK FOR "OUT THE DOOR PRICE"

No matter how I adjusted the equalizer the radio and Spotify were really painful in the higher registers, and the midrange sounded tinny. It was suggested to me in my car's forum that I might need different speakers. Manuel spent a lot of time explaining the system to me and adjusting it. He also showed me the difference between basic tuning and advanced equalizer settings. He said my speakers were fine. His fee for all the time spent was beyond reasonable. He also installs backup cameras, CarPlay systems for cars unequipped, window tinting etc. I can't say enough good things about this gem of a place tucked away in a corner of Echo Park.

This is a father-and-son-owned shop, and you can tell they take pride in doing things the right way. The photos I've posted show the old exhaust parts that were cut and removed, the replacement components, and the finished install underneath the vehicle. Everything was fitted cleanly and solidly--no shortcuts, no sloppy work. They replaced my muffler and repaired the damaged section from the theft in just a little over an hour, which honestly exceeded my expectations. The car sounds right, drives smoothly, and feels properly repaired--not patched together. What I appreciated most was their honesty and efficiency. They explained what needed to be done, got straight to work, and delivered exactly what they promised.
