Was in town visiting and decided to get a massage at this place, near the hotel. The one positive was their ability to make a same day appt. Upon entry , the experience went fast downhill. The person working the front desk continued trying to persuade me to get the most expensive massage (with stones) and dissuaded me from selecting the massage I wanted. Price difference wasn't substantial $95 v $70 but I really wanted 30 minutes per area, with special attention to my feet. She took me to the back room and showed me the room used for the $70 massage and then lead me to the room for the $95 massage -- there was a minor difference but the $95 room definitely had more curb appeal. Reluctantly I agreed to go with the higher priced massage given her insistence and struggle to comprehend what I was clearly requesting. The massage itself was lackluster ..... she rubbed with such a fast pace that I was unable to truly enjoy the pressure or relax. I asked that she slow down but she continued the same pace. Eventually she was able to modify her technique to at least prevent me from getting up and walking out. That being said, I was disappointed with the cost, quality and service. She also demanded that I pay first which I promptly declined --- I don't prepay for services not rendered. Still gave her a $15 tip despite my lack of satisfaction given that she hovered at the check out desk, seemingly wanting to confirm the amount of the potential tip. Based on service , she deserved maybe $2.... But I digress. I do not recommend this place.....I felt bullied and cheated. If the massage was better I wouldn't have mind the upsell effort.... this is my favorite massage place. i used to come here every month around 2022. this was my first time back, i called and was able to get an appointment right away. i was horribly tense, i didnt catch the ladies name but she was very nice and the massage really helped. All the other times i had been here were also great, some of the massage therapists have a heavier hand (which i prefer) some have a lighter hand. im really not picky at all so everything feels good. prices are really good, i get my mom and her boyfriend massages for christmas every year and they like this place too. i also like the little mall its in, alot of good food places around. im now moving to Kenosha, WI but will keep coming back! read more

Hubby and I came for a 90 minute massage. Both of our massage therapists were sick at the time but only my husband's massage therapist had the decency to wear a mask. Mine on the other hand kept coughing all over me and didn't even wash her hands in between which I found horrifying. She also kept pinching instead of actually massaging me and at times would end up scratching me (not sure if she had a ring on or just long nails). And for some reason she kept moving the towel to cover my ENTIRE FACE (yeah that's cool, I don't need to breathe or anything). For the price it is a great deal. Don't expect it to be fancy. The rooms have lofted ceilings so you can hear the noise around you but they are closed and private. My husband and I come frequently to get a couples massage. For $45 you can an hour of full body including 20 mins of concentrated foot massage. Additionally when they are working on your back you get hot stone massage for part of it. This is definitely more Asian style of massage but I think it's one of the best. I always come out nice and relaxed. Also please tip your masseuse well here. They work so hard and the price is so cheap. Where else are you going to get hot stone, Swedish massage and foot reflexology all in one around here for this price? read more

I was treated to a 60 minute massage for my birthday and it was phenomenal. I came with my mom and sister and we were placed in the same room (with 3 beds total)- though we were offered individual rooms if we preferred. They had us remove our shirts (different than most foot spas) and cover up with a towel. This allowed them to provide a full blown, amazing, back massage, along with the anticipated foot massage. This foot spa is far superior to others that I've gone to in the past. The professionalism and the skills of the staff is unmatched! Hot stones are included in the 60 minute massage and that was my favorite part. The stones were pretty hot, but in the best way. It was so relaxing and the ambience and music were peaceful. Got off on a bad foot right away. I paid $29 for a Living Social Deal but when I got there I was offered the foot massage that cost $29, so I really paid the actual cost- no deal. What's up with that Lux and Living Social?? There was no description in the Living Social deal so I didn't know what to expect, thought I was just getting a foot massage. Had I known it included a nearly full body massage I'd have worn less bulky clothes. I mean the massage was fairly ok but would've been better with lighter weight clothing. The experience was kind of ok but I couldn't get into it having started on such bad footing. Also, the noise level was kind of distracting; noises from adjacent rooms such as talking and hearing the other people's massages (when the masseuse therapeutically did the hitting), my friend said she even heard street traffic from the nearby highway. I'm a big fan of Lux Foot Spa. I've been to many Chinese massage parlors and Lux is legitimate. The prices are cheap when compared to those offered at resorts and spas, but are very comparable to other Chinese massage places. For the basic 1 hour massage, it's $29 and is an extremely good deal. There are sometimes specials for buying multiple massages as well. For those that are unfamiliar with Chinese foot massages, it's not JUST a foot massage. You get essentially a full body massage, including head area, arms, legs, back, and butt (I like it, but if it's a problem for you, you should address it). It's just that there's a focus on your feet. Out of all the Chinese foot massage places I've been to, I'd say that Lux has the best facilities, decor, and ambiance. I've never seen multiple private rooms before. Also, once your massage is complete, you get a complimentary Chinese tea that refreshes your body. read more

So, I received a groupon for hour full body massage, but when I arrived they told me I needed to pay additional 16$ so I can actually take my clothes off during the massage and so they can use oil. Weird, and groupon didn't mention that. (How can you massage with all clothes on anyway). Secondly, the massage guy didn't speak English which is in general fine but it was hard to ask him something. The massage went well but in the end they tried to get me to leave a huge tip! I left 5$ not only they didn't appreciate that but said that the minimum tip recommended is 15 if is was ok, and 20-30$ or more if I liked it. How can you ASK someone for tips? If I feel like it, I will leave it but you can't demand tip and make people feel bad. (I'm a student myself and I didn't have much money with me and this definitely made me feel bad). read more

This is a wonderful place. I bought a 90 minute Groupon, and loved it. Rooms are Asian inspired and peaceful. Quiet music. Feet soak while head and face are massaged. Peter did my massage, I recommend him. He's quiet, he's gets into muscles, including small muscles. My arms were so sore but felt so much better afterwards. While it's true they don't speak a lot of English, they speak enough. I don't want to talk while I'm getting a massage anyway. They have lovely rooms for two people to get a massage as well. Great place to get scammed out of a full 90 minute massage. And literally forced into tipping the "recommended tip" even though a tip is a way to show gratitude for their services. Didn't get the full 90 minutes I paid for. We started 10 minutes late, even though we showed up 5 minutes early. He left the room 3 times totaling 10 minutes. (Which is a long time when you're laying on your back without support.) Sloppy, lazy, aggressive and when I asked him to go easier he threw the towel over my head and tapped my shoulder and told me I'm done. I wanted to only tip $8 but the The cashier told me I had to tip my masseur $12-$15 for the massage and would not charge my card until i AGREED to tip at least $12. Then turns to my friend ACCEPTED HER $5 tip!!! And she didn't have any complaints!!!!! When I called him out on it he said he didn't understand English. Whoa, but you had no issue pronouncing and understanding recommendations?? Everyone at this place understand very minimal English or uses it to their advantage. The massage experience 100% depends on which therapist you have (obviously). My usual experiences here are great, but the last time I went, the lady basically just rubbed lotion repeatedly until I smelled like the bottle of lotion they use. My last experience was pretty bad (and a few other experiences too), but I had multiple good experiences before so it's a 4 star for me (not a 5 star anymore). I'm very happy that I gave this place a shot. I was feeling pretty terrible on a Sunday and scheduled an appointment. They got me in right away with a very sweet therapist. The parking was easy and it is located on the side of the strip mall connected to Lux Salon on Milwaukee, not far from BurgerFi. The waiting room has nice snacks with coffee and the menu. I selected a long massage with hot stones and was back to a very zen atmosphere. They helped me get situated. I've been in a leg cast for the last several weeks and was a little nervous about the therapist irritating my leg. There was definitely a language barrier between me and the therapist but we had no trouble whatsoever. She gave me a very relaxing and rejuvenating massage. I left feeling 100% better. Wow. She was really talented! One of the things I really like is that they soak your feet for a little while in the beginning and have some true eastern foot therapy techniques. I know very little about acupuncture or foot therapy... but know I left feeling much much better. The prices were very reasonable, staff caring and talented, and were clean an accommodating. They beg for tips and think tips are obligatory even if you are unsatisfied with their horrible service (they emailed me with their complaint that I didn't tip them). It is probably an option to help feel relaxed and at ease. 2) What they call massage is absolutely not a professional massage therapy, but: - stretching facial skin - pushing and pressing hands and feet and back - pulling and strokes It has nothing common with the massage therapy and if You have issues with your back or broken bones, be aware of this service. Ok. Whoever gave this excuse of a spa anything more than a one star never got a decent massage in their lifetime. This is what happened to me & my husband tonight. 1. APPT MESS-UP: We made an appt for 8pm for TWO people and requested that we were in the same room. We walked in at 7:45 and everyone looked confused. We asked what's wrong, and 1 guy out of 3 people, the only one who spoke anything close to English, said "nothing". One of the women masseuses called someone on her phone, argued in loud chinese, then just gave the phone to my husband. Dumbfounded, my hubby answered the phone and she said "u the one make appt for 2?" "Yes, that was me" "OK". Then they argue for another 5 minutes with each other in Chinese, then finally tells us there was a problem. Apparently, they made appt for only 1, when we verified several times. He said we can both start at 8:30 if we both want it. We were bit upset bc we didn't eat dinner yet, didn't want to stay there until like 10pm. He says we should go eat and come back in 30 min. I will not eat fast food just so he can make up a schedule, and we were both tired. I said i will just wait. The guy says one of us can start, and without asking just made my appt for 90 min. Then he says my hubby will start at 8:30 and he can wait in the same room. Well, after 50 mins of waiting and no one showing up, my hubby finally gets up to the front desk to ask what the hell is going on, and apparently, the "manager" left for home and left us with 2 people who spoke ZERO word of English!!!!!! They had no idea what was going on, and had no idea why we were even mad!!!! We just told them that we are canceling, and that they can just stop my massage. I got up in the middle and I tipped my masseuse (even though the massage was so terrible I was excited to actually leave). Paid up front and walked out. My hubby got no massage, we just wasted $40, and I got half a massage. 2. The massage is TERRIBLE!!!!! He had no energy in his hands and just grazed me for 50 minutes! I told my hubby that it feels like very inappropriate touching by a very timid man instead of a massage. We always get massages, all over the world even on our vacation, and this was no massage. It felt like just very uncomfortable sexual harassment that I paid for at the end. -_- no pressure points, no strength, no english so we can't even ask for stronger touches. My god....the man just kept speaking to me in Chinese and didn't even know "wait" or "flip". 3. The facility was dark overall, but there was a bright light shining on my eyes the entire time. The beds are super super uncomfortable, and the water and the towel were both way too hot. When i said it was hot, he didn't understand and just force pushed my legs in. After it was over, he just left, and we went after him to tip him. No water, no offer for water.... Overall, the experience was horrendous, and massage terrible, customer service non-existent.... We just wasted valuable time and money for this sorry excuse of a business. We will never return, and will try the one on pfingsten instead. Save ur $$ and time and DO NOT GO HERE!!!! read more

I really wanted to love this place since it's close to home and I like the ambience. Friendly staff, dim lights, serene music. My son and I went. I'm stressed and he had tired and tense muscles from football. Well... it wasn't great. It wasn't terrible but it wasn't great. I felt like I was massaged by a toddler. It just wasn't a strong massage and my son said the same. This is the sister spa to Yu's Spa in Palatine (see my previous review). Be sure to enter the Foot Spa door, not the Salon and Spa door. Both are labeled "Lux" so it is a bit confusing. Drive around to the back of the building. Look for the UPS signage. In the same parking lot as Burger Fi. Call ahead to make your appointment, remove all necklaces and bracelets, and wear loose clothing. Prepare to remove your socks and pull up your pants to your knees. My husband and I were able to have a "couples massage" in a room with 3 tables, but the third one was not being used during our hour. Both masseuses were very quiet and did not introduce themselves. They got right down to business of pushing, pounding, and rubbing. The time went by quickly with the soothing music and dimmed lighting. Occasional loud talkers in the hallway, but all customers (not staff). Bonus points for accepting credit cards, even for tip. I didn't get anyone's names, so I can't request them next time.
