I'm stressed and he had tired and tense muscles from football. Well... it wasn't great. It wasn't terrible but it wasn't great. I felt like I was massaged by a toddler. The staff in the massage facility are extremely rude, unorganised, and extremely unprofessional. I paid for my 90 minute deep tissue with hot stone massage about three weeks early while I was oversees in Egypt. They staff claimed I never paid for the service and I had to show them proof via my groupon app and my banking app that I indeed paid for the service while I was out the country. Apparently they didn't get the " notification of payment". Once realising that I did indeed already pay $100 for the massage service no apology what so ever for the miscommunication on there end. The massage itself was okay not the greatest I ever gotten. After my massage was over, the massage therapist along with the receptionist tried to force me to tip while being really rude and money hungry. I always tip since I worked most my life in the customer service industry but the rudeness and lack of apology was really unnecessary and they did not deserve of my business let alone any tip. Wasn't the best massage, but wasn't the worst either. The place was clean and the people were very friendly. I guess I would have liked some more pressure, but that aside, it was okay. I didn't like that she seemed to get a lot of lotion in my hair/scalp. Wish they did more of a dry scalp massage (but maybe I'll know to ask for that specifically) when/if I go back. I always try to get a massage least 2-3 times a month. I've been to many places around northshore area including Glenview. The guy who did my massage was too soft even after asked for stronger massage. This place did not relieve my shoulder and neck pain at all after 1 hour service. So i usually give $20 tip after i get a good massage since i was disappointed with their service i gave him $10 but owner at front desk was trying to convince to pay more tip for bad service??? Mmmm. Used to be a great place to get a cheap massage. Now they will constantly upsell you to a more expensive massage. When you are done you NEED to tip their RECOMMENDED tip. Please go elsewhere they greed of whoever runs this place is thru the roof. I like the massages there BUT on two separate occasions I called to make an appointment and when I showed up for my appointment they did not have me on their calendar so they could not take me in the Glenview location. This happened twice!! Very frustrating as they confirm with you on the phone the date and time and the location when you make an appointment but when you go there they don't have your appointment in their book. The massage I received was amazing. The staff was extremely nice BEFORE my service. As you know, with this untraditional massage venue many of the massages are at a lower rate. Mostly, because you don't get the full "salon" experience, but the massages are great. After my service, I paid and I left a standard (20%) tip and the male rep completely changed his demeanor and was like "It was 90 minutes. That's it?" I was extremely offended and thought it was quite tacky and unprofessional to have their overly priced "suggested tips" (above 40%) in a picture frame on neon paper so their customers can see. I know some people don't leave tips or leave very bad tips, but in a strong professional business you should never show any sort of disappointment related to tips especially when a customer like myself leaves a tip that was average. I went yesterday with my sister and it's my second time going this spa. It's really quiet, clean, and good location. Receptionist is not that welcoming, which was little disappointed. It seemed like she didn't wanted to be there, she looked unhappy and dark. I did 30min back massage with my sister. We got the massage together in the same room so I was happy. I used a WEDEAL for my first visit for a $15 massage. The massage was amazing!! You don't remove your clothes and the entire thing is really relaxing. There is the room that is sectioned off with curtains with a long row of leather massage chairs that are so comfortable and they play Enya type music the whole time. Two men came in to do my massage and my mom's massage and we both really enjoyed it. I would definitely go back for the price. However... the reason I took two stars off is because what appears to be the front entrance facing the street is actually the back exit. When I showed up for my appointment which they told me was 10:15 we tried to enter the front entrance (really the exit) and the door was locked. We then saw that the door says they didn't open until 11 even though they told me my appointment was at 10:15. I waited in the parking lot and got a call from Lux Spa and the guy on the phone asked where I was for my 10:30 appointment. I told him the door was locked and that we had been waiting to which he replied "ok". I went back to the door and it was still locked so I called them back and made sure I was at the right location once again telling him the door was locked in which he said "ok" again never once informing me that we were at the wrong entrance. My mom and I soon realized the real entrance was around the side of the building which makes no sense. That wasn't a good first impression. The second thing that was kind of a bummer was you could hear people walking around the building, talking even though the curtains covered us from the other rooms in the building. And I was a tad distracted by my masseuse because he seemed to be chewing gum or sucking on something for most of my massage. Far from it, they do a full massage; head, neck, arms etc - even your hands and palms! All done without having to remove anything but shoes and socks. Feet are soaking then also massaged. Very affordable for massage and can usually get you in last minute. This is the only place I go to in the area. The only put off would be their tip sign, it's rated by service and the amount you should tip which is well over 25% for what they list as good or excellent service. It makes me a little uncomfortable when I base my 20% - 25% tip off the type and price of service I have paid for. If the fee is $30, 20% is $6 tip for good service, yet they have it suggested to leave $11-$15 for tip. It's a bit much to suggest to tip half of what the cost of the service is.... read more

Horrible experience!!! Don't go there because you will be humiliated by the front desk lady for leaving a "small" tip. I left an 18% tip and was approached before walking out the door with some picture frame with suggested tip amounts. I feel bad leaving a 3 star review because they fitted me in for a massage on a Sunday at 1 hour notice. The receptionist was nice and showed me to the room which was very clean. The masseuse some very little English and it was hard for us to communicate. The massage started with me laying down with my feet dipped in a tub of warm water. Very relaxing and a great idea except it's a bit hard on the back. Even when the feet were taken out the massage tables were incredibly uncomfortable. For 40 minutes the masseuse remained focused on my hands and feet. When I asked her if she'd massage my shoulders and back I don't think she understood me. Finally when she got to my back and shoulders the pressure was too light and then finally when she understood that I wanted deeper pressure I was in agony.
