I'm leaving this review to share a balanced but honest account of my experience. While the end result of the project was acceptable, the process was far more complicated and frustrating than it needed to be. The sales interaction set the tone with high‑pressure tactics, including statements like "this price is only available today." We moved forward anyway because we knew we wanted the work done. When I later asked to adjust the scope, the salesperson resisted for nearly ten minutes before agreeing to send a revised contract. The first crew delivered solid work on the drain line and concrete, but the vapor barrier installation was sloppy--uneven trimming, gaps, and inconsistent application. They also removed a board supporting the incoming water line without explanation, leaving it hanging from a wire and damaging the clamp. Their initial attempt to "fix" it involved taping the board to a pipe, which was not a proper or safe solution. The sump pump outlet was also installed in a way that caused the discharge pipe to partially block it, putting pressure on the plug. Communication was another major issue. I was never given a dedicated point of contact. I had to reach out to the salesperson again just to report problems. He forwarded my concerns to the office, and I was eventually contacted by Christal. She was professional and genuinely helpful, but her phone number repeatedly showed as disconnected, and only some text messages went through. I had to call the main line each time and ask to be routed to her. A week later, two crews returned and corrected the vapor barrier, repaired the board, and moved the outlet so it was no longer obstructed. The final work met expectations, but the overall experience involved unnecessary sales pressure, communication challenges, and multiple days off work for corrections and inspections. read more

My experience with JES Repair was frustrating and ultimately disappointing. The project itself was completed on schedule, but the quality and planning of the work left a lot to be desired. The beam repairs appear to have been completed in the easiest way possible, with little consideration for the work that would need to happen afterward. The crew cut the subfloor approximately three inches away from the walls and left it unsupported. As a result, my flooring contractor had to tear out two sections of flooring and replace the entire subfloor in those areas because the necessary repairs were never addressed during the original project. Even more frustrating, JES only opened a limited section of the floor instead of exposing the entire affected area. Once the flooring contractor had everything opened up, additional damaged wood was discovered that now requires even more repairs. Since JES was already working in that area, it is difficult to understand how these issues weren't identified or why the floor wasn't opened far enough to properly inspect the entire section. Addressing everything while the area was already exposed would have saved significant time, cost, and disruption. The inspection process was another major disappointment. The county inspection failed and was rescheduled without anyone from JES informing me ahead of time. I was then told that no one from JES would attend the reinspection and that it was between me and the county. As a homeowner, I'm not a contractor and shouldn't be expected to answer technical questions or represent the company's work to the building inspector. I hired JES expecting professional workmanship, thorough planning, and support through the entire process. Instead, I've been left coordinating additional repairs, paying for work that could have been avoided, and handling inspection issues that should have been managed by the contractor. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend JES Repair. UPDATE (07/08/2026): I connected with the resolution team and are working through the issues in a positive and constructive manner. read more

The concrete on our driveway was cracked and uneven from tree roots. Multiple sections needed attention and we were under a time crunch for a pending sale contract on the house. JES arrived as scheduled and went above and beyond in the repair. Seth and Chris were our expert technicians, and we truly are so grateful for their work today. Outstanding in every way. I am pleased to update this and report that upon another call to JES and further discussion JES has agreed to address this issue. John Dunn paid a visit to our home to assess the driveway. His attitude from the very beginning of the visit was nothing short of positive. He was puzzled as to the condition of the concrete and took more pictures. On the spot he promised he would take care of this. True to his word we heard later that he had gotten approval to fix the driveway. I had an estimate scheduled for 9am on Saturday, July 26. At 7:55 and 8:22 am I received texts from 2 different numbers at the company saying they had to reschedule, but with different excuses for the last second inconvenience. The technician said they were double booked, the scheduling person said the technician was sick. So already the company's scheduling/salespeople have no problem with lying up front to a new customer's face. I appreciate the technician being honest, and would have much preferred just being told the truth: that it was double booked. They asked me to reschedule to Monday, July 28 at 2pm. I agreed and asked both numbers to confirm the new appointment, which both did. It is Monday, no one showed up at 2pm and when I called the company at ~5pm to see where they were I was told I wasn't on their schedule. You can see the confirmation of the 2pm rescheduled appointment in both screen shots. Thank you to the inspector who was honest. If they punish you for this and you see the review, please let me know. You did the right thing here. I waited weeks for this appointment. Don't waste your time and look elsewhere. Later on, we learned of their shoddy reputation and had the house re-evaluated; there were no significant issues. JES's report (which was a brief email that barely addressed the "problems" with the home) cost us all our leverage and essentially tens of thousands of dollars we could have saved in negotiating with the seller. read more

This review is for the initial visit/estimate. The salesman was prompt and I thought the estimate would take 10-15 minutes. I was NOT prepared for a two hour ordeal. The salesman invited himself inside to go over a lengthy PowerPoint presentation, asked if my husband was home so I could run things by him (because we all know women can't make decisions), and when we finally got the estimate, we were pressured to make a decision on the spot for the "best deal." Nearly a week ago I called the JES Norther VA office with an emergency request (which the befuddled operator did not understand after many repetitions). He said he would refer it to a tech to get back to me right away. Five (5) days later the tech calls me to ask what I needed. TOO LATE BUDDY! I had to -- and did -- find a fix myself. Ordinarily one might say, "so what's the big deal", and I would agree. The difference is that I have spent thousands (50, 60, 70, more?) on JES for a variety of issues. However, that did not seem to guarantee me any increased access to a timely return call for my emergency need. Methinks they are getting too big to be responsive company. read more

This review reflects my experience with JES as a company. I am not writing out of bitterness, but out of genuine disappointment. I agree with many of the other reviews: JES is extremely expensive, and their priority appears to be revenue--not the customer. To be fair, the encapsulation itself was done well, and the technician named Tiger did an excellent job. However, the encapsulation and our uneven floors were the reasons we hired JES in the first place, and that is where the problems began. What JES does not tell you is that installing piers and jacks under and around your home can create new issues. When those issues appear, they simply recommend more work, claiming the previous technician "should have put a jack here or there." At no point has JES taken responsibility for the damage their work caused. After the initial inspection, we were told we had a "wavy beam" and needed multiple jacks and piers. We trusted their assessment and assumed they were being honest. Instead, our floors are still uneven, worse than before and we experienced significant damage throughout our home. Our pantry cabinets pulled four inches from the wall, our sliding door became so tight the lock ripped out of the frame, and a four‑foot crack formed in our ceiling from the pressure of the jacks. My daughter's bedroom door no longer closes. We had to repair all of these issues ourselves on top of the already astronomical fees JES charged. When we reported these problems, JES either tried to sell us even more work (which they did) or dismissed our concerns. One employee even looked at our leaning pantry cabinets and said, "Well, at least you know everything is level." I could list more examples, but the point is simple: I do not recommend JES. If I could get my money back, I would, and I would hire a different company. We thought we were making the right decision by starting our home renovations from the ground up. Can it go any lower than 1 star??? I was lied to. The "salesman" was friendly and knowledgeable. I decided to sign the contract and gave them my deposit on a Saturday and was told that I would be contacted the following Tuesday for scheduling. That never happened. A week later I contacted the salesman to question. He got back to me, gave me a date and a time to expect the crew. I gave away my hours at work, which is difficult, and stayed home on this past Thursday. No one ever called me, no one ever showed up. I contacted my salesman, who seemed concerned but he was in another state helping to open up another office. And yes...I was upset that I never even received a call from them, and said so. A lady, locally, contacted me and assured me that my job would be done the following morning. Friday morning I contacted her and let her know that I would be home in the morning but had commitments in the afternoon. She indicated that they would contact me, in the morning, to let me know they were coming. At 2:20 pm...that had not happened. I messaged her to try to understand what was happening. She never responded. I messaged the salesman again to tell him what I was experiencing. He messaged me back saying that they were not responding to him either. I, being angry, messaged him back and said that...sounds like he was almost as stupid as I am. He messaged me back and told me he would make sure I was refunded my deposit and "do not contact me again". Am I wrong for expecting them to do what they said they were going to do??? Am I wrong for being angry about being lied to and ignored...twice? They were quick to take my deposit...the rest was a cluster ****. read more

I hired JES to make a foundation repair. It was the worst contractor experience I have ever had. I do fix & flip for a living and hire a lot of contractors. JES is expensive, extremely slow, poor workmanship, no warranty, no after sale service. It's a Cash & Dash company. They will sweet talk into giving them the job, but they will do a bad job. When your basement is flooded in the first snow melt and rainy day since they completed their work, they will tell you they can send someone to potentially repair mid next month, like 3 weeks out, leaving you with a flood in the basement, rotting out everything while they are enjoying the money I gave them. There is ZERO warranty. The service manager told he will send someone the next day. Instead, JES does a no show no call! Don't give them the job. If the job already started, withhold $5K in the final payment. You will need it to pay someone else to mix their extremely poor workmanship. read more

I received a written estimate for the work with a comprehensive scope followed by a contractual agreement including payment terms. Once I accepted the job, the company scheduled the work and maintained communication with me regarding the work. The day of the repair their crew showed up to the site led by Seth. They were courteous and knowledgeable about this work. They got busy immediately with great results. The slabs were jacked into their proper positions and then structural foam was injected through the slabs to support them in their correct locations. At first, I was taken aback by the sales tactics to make a decision right then and there after the inspection. JES does quality work. I don't think they need to do that and should give the customer some space to plan. Having said that, the rest of my crawl space encapsulation project was done to the highest of expectations. During the initial inspection, I was shown some pictures of the previous work which impressed me. I had two other companies coming to give quotes (so I understood the sales tactics but if you do good work, there's no need to worry) but end up canceling them because I didn't like their project pictures. With JES, I knew what I was signing up for even before the project started. Now, for the quality work that JES does, they are pricey. I wanted the project done properly by the pros so I was willing to pay for what it's worth. Still it was pricey according to some research I had been doing and the inspector Jose Amaya was willing to work with me on how I can reduce the price. I'm more than happy with how everything turned out within my budget. I did all the cleaning up, preparing the outlets, and buying the non-JES dehumidifier with no JES warranties, etc. As initially expected, the crawl space was also encapsulated very tightly. The foreman Jose Garcia and his crew did quality work and accommodated my requests to even seal up odd spots. Because I prepped the space beforehand, the whole encapsulation project was done in about 6 hours total instead of the usual two days. They even installed a custom crawl space door to fit. I'm quite happy with how it all turned out while staying within my budget. 5/5 would recommend to friends and family. The before and after pictures in this post speak for themselves. Most importantly, that ground/dirt smell from the crawl space seeping into our living space is totally gone! That was my main objective with this project. If you've got a foundation project "DONE PROPERLY" and are willing to pay the right money for the right workmanship, pick JES. You won't regret it. read more

Just an update to my review. I recently hired JES to install a waterproofing system (which was very expensive) in my basement given that my first experience with them was a positive one. During the time I've had the waterproofing system my basement has flooded three times. Flooding like this never happened before the system was installed. They recently did repair work in my basement, they were sure this would fix the issue. Sure enough, 3 weeks later my basement flooded again. This company holds itself out to be honest and ethical but I've found this company to be very predatory and dishonest. Do not trust this company with your home. read more

JES Foundation Services repaired a floor to top of poured concrete wall crack that would occasionally leak water into the basement. The certified field engineer Mike Mele explained the problem and options for repair without high pressure sales. The repair required an epoxy bonded mat and some jackhammer work to open the floor to install a trough to route water into the sump area. Total work time 3 hours, The onsite work crew foreman was Abdul Wurie with team of three. Price consistent with three guys and a truck on-site for 3 hours. Our new floor beautifully connects to the existing floor. With help from Walter Zavaleta Sr, our crawlspace is now clear, clean, and dry - average humidity of 85 percent before is now 60 or less. Christopher Polanco made sure the project finished on time to high standards, and Joel Lugo, Jose Rafael Garcia, and Luis Prieto put on the finishing touches. Junk. Shoddy work, unprofessional, nearly impossible to contact when you need an issue they created fixed or their work repaired. Which, from experience, will be a very common situation. There isn't a single thing they did at our house after moving in that didn't require them to come back almost immediately to fix an issue due to sloppy or inappropriate work. They also ghost homeowners. You create a relationship with a technician, they then drop that number and their email goes dead. This has happened to me at least 5 times. This review is long overdue; however, very necessary. In August 2025, JES was contracted to complete a foundation waterproofing project. From start to finish Robert Tennyson, the Project Field Inspector, was very professional, informative and customer service oriented. He took the time to walk-thru the project, performed detail inspection, participated in at least two (2) follow up virtual meetings, and allowed us the time to make an informed decision. He did not overpressure us as we took almost a year to move forward in making a final determination after months of researching, and considering and securing financial feasibility. He was supportive and stepped in when others in the communication chain did not provide detail explanations. Moreover, Robert made it a priority to meeting me in-person during the project when a few concerns arose and immediately provided feasible solutions. Additionally, there was an HVAC project which needed to be performed in tandem with the JES project for which an independent HVAC company was selected. Mr. Tennyson was willing to meet with the HVAC company to coordinate and ensure the appropriate steps were taken to ensure the project was executed properly in tandum. He made it easy for us to step back and allow the experts to plan, coordinate and execute. Secondly, I would like to acknowledge and recognize Rudy Gonzalez, the Superintendent, Jose Rubio, Site Project Manager, Robert, and David Perdomo, team members. This individual did an excellent job in the execution and completion of the project from start to finish with a standard of excellence and professional. In summary, Jose Rubio, and his team, took the time to stage and properly seal off the required areas of the home prior to starting the project. Each day the team left the work clean and free of debris and trash. Each day, they arrived on time and prepared to work the day with little to no disruption to our daily activities. From my observation each of the individuals mentioned above knew their daily assignments and came to work with a positive attitude and ready to get the job done. Moreover, at the conclusion of the job, Jose took the necessary time to perform a thorough inspection and walk-thru with us to ensure customer satisfaction. It is definitely worth mentioning that during the course of the project there were two (2) matters of concern that did arise, which required the Superintendent, Rudy Gonzalez be contacted for resolution. Mr. Gonzalez, did not hesitate to immediately follow-up with me and schedule a time to meet me on the job site. In regard to the first matter, Mr. Gonzalez took the necessary steps to assess the situation, provide a solution and take corrective action. In the second matter, as a result of the subcontractor electrician, Mr. Gonzalez, immediately arrived on-site to assess the matter, took accountability although the issue was NOT caused by the JES team; but the subcontractor electrician. Mr. Gonzalez and Mr. Tennyson, both demonstrated excellent customer service, high professional and emotional intelligence in how they addressed the situation. Both parties acknowledged my frustrations as a homeowner who prides oneself in the maintenance and upkeep of our home and expressed sincere sympathy and empathy as I articulated my concerns. Needless to say, it is unrealistic to believe with a project of this magnitude that obstacles or issues will not arise. What is important and vital is how the company, service provider and/or representatives of the company respond. In both matters Mr. Gonzalez and Mr. Tennyson took the appropriate measures and corrective actions to ensure the matters were resolved to my satisfaction. I highly recommend JES for any home foundation project. In addition, to the initial project, JES was hired to complete an additional project to correct the sidewalk and other outdoor foundation improvements needed. In summary, Mr. Tennyson is extremely professional, honest and operates with integrity. The entire JES team that execued my project was excellent; with exception to the subcontractor. I would definitely hire JES for future projects. There is a part 2 project currently pending, as a result of updated inspection requirements for my city. JES has received 99% of their payment and they have not completed the job. No inspector has been out. I have contacted Bryce their " operations manager" who is on vacation and will get back to me at his earliest convenience. I have contacted Nick Feaster their regional sales manager who must also be on vacation. I have went to their location several times and have been told there are no managers available and they are not sure when or if any will be back. I have contacted the sales rep. She no longer works there but still answers my calls. Is this company still in business? I have contacted the better business bureau and anyone I possibly can. These are pictures of how my house was left over 2 weeks ago. I have allergies, there is water just flowing into my house and just sitting. My poor cat can't go downstairs. We had JES install 11 push poles to support our foundation. They started the job earlier than scheduled, which would have been OK, except for the fact that a two day rain was predicted to start the following day. We were left with open holes and dirt piled up for two days while it rained, creating a big mess. When they installed the push poles and brackets, they chipped away considerable amounts of concrete with a chipping hammer, exposing the steel rebar. After the poles and brackets were installed, the workers did a poor job of restoring the grade to the condition it was. The holes have since settled, leaving big holes. Also, rocks that were dug up were just scattered about, and now I have to clean those up before I can even mow the grass. I contacted JES, and was told that someone would reach out to me to resolve the issue. I have yet to hear back from anyone. The work was quite expensive, and I feel that a better job should have been done on the final grade and clean up. read more

I contracted JES 5 years ago to encapsulate my crawlspace. I am pleased with the work that was done. However I am NOT pleased with the latest round of service that I experienced. Part of this contract was a yearly service plan, everything has been smooth until this year when the dehumidifier was found to have stopped working. The service tech claimed he would replace it but needed to order one. After 10 days and no reply I contacted the office and was informed the service tech had been sick. I exchanged a couple of emails with Joe Henderson the service manager of the Roanoke VA office. On April 3rd he promised me a reply by April 4th. I still have not received a reply; despite emailing and calling a couple of times since. If need be I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau. read more

While work was completed, it was a painful experience. The cost of doing work seems excessive, and communication was terrible. They encountered an asbestos issue, but could not correct or even recommend another contractor to remedy the situation. Encountered problems with scheduling a final county inspection and JES could not produce the report of the final inspection. However, they paid an inordinate attention to receiving their payment. My recommendation is to review all of their reviews and draw your own conclusion. I can not recommend them. read more

Stay far away from JES Foundation and Repair. This company sent their engineer who missed his calling as a used car salesman to my house who provided me with a reasonable quote to have jacks installed underneath an addition that was sinking. They installed the jacks and leveled them which caused a gap between the top of an exterior door and doorframe to close. Within three months the gap reappear. We called them back twice and they said the weight simply redistributed across the room causing one side and a corner to sink more.
