DO NOT COME HERE !!! I'd give this place 0 stars if it was possible, my sister went here to go get her nails done and came home CRYING! the service was so awful each person was completely aggressive and shady and dismissive of what she wanted done for HER nails that she was PAYING FOR. The vibe is completely unprofessional and definitely does not match the 4 stars they have on here. She mind you, called an hour earlier just to come in and wait 45 minutes and then later on be told that they can't change her nails because they were about to close. Didn't offer her to come another to get it done for a lower price or for free. Yet, she tried again with them assuming maybe they had a long day. No. The second day she went there the wait was longer and the attitudes were even nastier. They were being lazy, annoyed and frustrated with her nails THAT MIND YOU, SHES STILL PAYING FOR!! Talking sh*t about her, calling her out her name and commenting on her appearance and acting as if she was doing too much assuming she couldn't understand...idiotic assumption. Mind you my sister is a very sweet girl, she is HUGE on being kind to those who work in customer service so that kind of reaction was clearly uncalled for and goes to show it's just who they are and it doesn't matter if your paying or nice. Do not come to this place!!! Just from entering the building I could tell immediately that half these reviews are probably fake or from the employees. No one deserves bad customer service especially when they're paying for a service. People come to get their nails done to relax or take care of themselves either way it's supposed to be a serene experience and this business doesn't amplify or even apply that. They treat it like a drive thru! Don't go here! You've been warned. Nothing about this place is lux. read more

I've been trying to find a decent nail salon in the Bay Area for awhile now. I saw the reviews for this place and decided to check it out. This place is great! It's so clean, and the nail stylist really took her time doing my nails. My nails came out exactly how I wanted. No flaws at all. I got a basic full set for $65. It was very easy to schedule an appointment, just go on their website and you can schedule an appointment for that same day. But they also accept walk-ins, they immediately started on my nails soon as I walked in. The stylists were very chill, the place definitely had a relaxed welcoming vibe. Bryan at Lux did a beautiful job my first time around with a dip ombré manicure. After 4 weeks you can see all my nails still intact no lifting! Went there for the first time to just get a regular mani. My hands have been so dry from hand washing and my nails are so weak and break all the time. I saw Rose for my mani and she did awesome. It's been a while since I got acrylics due to the pandemic. Decided to treat myself and pulled out my handy dandy Yelp app! I notice this was a new business near my house. I checked out their Instagram and also it was very easy to book an appointment from their Instagram. The site makes it easy to look for a time slot that fits your schedule. There's tons of parking and it's in the same plaza as La Vic's. You check in using a tablet at the front and have a seat to be called. The shop is very open and bright. The atmosphere was good and welcoming. I booked with Ivan since I was able to see his work on Instagram. However I can't wait to come back and get my nails done by the other techs. Ivan delivered and my nails are bussin! I wanted atomic stars and he did a awesome job! He's very meticulous and made sure I was happy with my nails. They are not super thick but not too thin. Perfect thickness and shape! I felt very safe getting my nails done here. The staff made sure to sanitize and the staff kept the shop clean. My favorite thing has to be the portable wireless UV light. They can move it from each station and it just goes over your nails. Currently there is a discount going on so give it a try! Brian who usually does my nails was on vacation. So the lady at station 3 did my nails very poorly. The very same day two nails had popped completely off. I went back the next day to have them repaired. They do not stand behind their work and was angry about having to fixing their mistakes. No consideration for the time that I had to take to return. They lied and said that it was my fault because I needed a new full set. I've worn nail tips for over 30years, I know when I need a new full set. Which is every 90 days. It's only been two months. However after they protest and told me next time they wouldn't fix their mistake. I know I should not have gone back. I did and they clearly were still angry from having to fix my nails from the last time. I sit down with Ivan and he asked if I remembered what he had told me the last time, I said no. Ivan literally asked me five more times if I remembered what he had told me the last time, I told him no five more times. Ivan says I thought you remembered. So he's starts to say something about why my nail popped off and that I need a new set. I absolutely know that he's lying. However I say ok, give me a new set. Which means he'd have to soak my current set off. Of course he didn't want to do that so he refused me service. When I got home I found out that my neighbor had a similar experience with Ivan (it's always Ivan) just days before. They told her that her nail popped off because her skin was to oily. Not only are they dishonest they're racist. Don't patronize here unless you have money to throw away. They're not friendly and never talk to anyone. Well Bryan does talk. Vietnamese nail shops have come into our community and have been disrespectful the entire time. I'm going to start advocating to get them out of our communities. They make up prices according to the person, never ever go by the price list. A bunch of crooks. read more

Was heading to Hayward for errands and needed a mani so trialed Lux due to their stellar reviews. Shop asthetics is typical which I don't care as long as the work is clean and good. I had gel with structure on the set I had removed and got a gel manicure to replace it. I choose white which I know is a very hard color to paint but if the place is solid it will look good. I am critical as I have been spoiled with family and friends who are nail technicians who usually do my nails so I notice every flaw. The edges aren't super clean but not super sloppy either. The polish took some trial to get it even. My nail shape was decent pre polish but after it's a bit not to my liking so I will re shape when I get home. I asked to keep my same shape but shorter. He tried but it's more round than I had and what I liked. I hope they last minimum of 2 weeks as I won't be in the area for a fix should it not hold up. read more

I've been here a total of 3 times, once last year and twice this year. Every time I went the nails were nice but it's the way I was treated the past two times that really put me off. I went in yesterday after scheduling an appointment hours before for a 6pm, I showed up on time and they were busy which is understandable. I wasn't seated until 6:30pm. My nails came out fine but towards the end of my appointment I was rushed out of the chair at 7:30pm. I didn't take it personally because they do close at 7pm but then again it wasn't my fault that I was there after their closing time. I ended up not happy with the color I chose and called the next day (today) for a color change. I walked in On Time... wasn't seated until 45 minutes later and they called other clients before me who walked in after me. I was eventually seated and the woman doing my nails had an extremely acerbic tone and attitude when speaking to me. I brushed it off because I really wanted my nail color changed. I asked for a specific simple color or anything similar and a tapered square shape, while I was asking very kindly for the style I wanted, she interrupted me to tell me another nail tech would shape my nails for me. After he shaped my nails she came back to do the polish, at this point I was really uncomfortable even asking for what I wanted because I was being treated like a nuisance. As someone who works in customer service I understand how important it is to be respectful and kind when receiving a service, so I was surprised at how I was being treated. About 3 people worked on my nails and the last nail tech was aggressively squeezing my hand, smacking it and making snarky remarks. At some point I even told the nail tech before her to not worry about it and that I would just go somewhere else because I felt like I was a bother to them, she insisted that I stayed and sent another nail tech to finish my nails. The last nail tech was aggressive and insanely rude and left my nails dusty while applying cuticle oil. They charged me an additional $20 dollars in addition to what I paid for a full set the day before. While my nails are nice, It's difficult to appreciate them with an experience like the one that I just had. The quality of nails are good but the customer service needs a lot of work. I will not be returning here and genuinely do not recommend it to anyone who values good customer service. read more

Hi i went to this nail shop today to get a color change as well to get a reshaping of my nails. when i did not like the shape I kindly asked the tech can she reshape it like this (as I showed her the picture of the shape I wanted. she said she could do the shape, but proceeded to do a shape that I did not ask for. When she asked me like this I returned with no that's not what I wanted which made her get frustrated and irritated with me and she proceeded to start to treat me really rude and that I was a Nuisance to her. She would tap me very aggressively to move my hand as well did not even wipe the acrylic powder off my nails I will not be returning my service because of this rude treatment. read more

I have come to this nail salon 3/4x now and I really like this place. It is very clean and relaxing. They always cut the cuticle without having to ask. Also the price doesn't change randomly every time I go, I do same thing everytime gel pedicure w/ a design and acrylic nails. The staff is very pleasant, I tend to be introverted and these people can read the room and tell if their client is in talking mood or not. read more
