I've had excellent gel manicures/pedicures from Chi and Kevin. I once came in with especially short, broken toenails and I swear Kevin was able to work actual magic on them! At this point, Chi is currently the only person I trust with my brows. She does such a good job! She has good taste and is very helpful with color selection--so if you're not sure which shade to go for, ask for her advice. The phone has always been answered when I've called, and oftentimes they are able to get me in for last-minute, same-day bookings. Pricing is very reasonable for Santa Barbara. Horrible service. I called before hand and asked how much dip powder was and the lady said $55. I get there and a guy does my nails and puts gel on my nails and said "I asked for gel" and that he can't re do because it's already done. When I called and clearly asked for dip powder. When I went to pay I asked how much is this gel, he said it's $45 and dip powder would have been $60 anyways. So they changed the price on me and didn't even give me the service I asked. Very disappointed in the service and how they handled this situation. Also the job he did on my nails is so cheap, and looks horrible. They didn't even apologize. I'm so upset and wouldn't recommend coming here. Update to owners response: I never mentioned anything about Gel. I never get gel. I said I wanted a basic pedicure, and even if for some reason they thought that meant gel on my feet, why would they assume I didn't want dip on my hands? The man was extremely rude, he said that the price was $60 and that they never said $55. Now the owner is admitting she said $55. Who says "I want to see the gel colors?". I'm not the type of person to leave bad reviews. Truly one of the worst services I've ever had. Not to mention she didn't even address the terrible job the man did on my nails (see the picture). This was the worst salon experience I have ever experienced. It's my birthday and just wanted to treat myself a little bit while being pregnant. I walked in and no one said hello or asked how they could help me. I had to speak up and ask if they had time for a pedicure after standing there for a while. They never asked if I wanted the standard or deluxe pedicure, they just asked if I wanted them to take care of the calluses, which I responded yes. She aggressively went after the first foot and did way too much and ended up cutting me pretty deep. I'm pregnant and got scared about infection so I told her to stop and that I'm done. She kept grabbing my foot trying to put it back in the water and I didn't want to keep exposing the cut to stuff and I kept responding "no" so she kept saying "trust me" and splashing the water on it saying "not that bad" and laughing and showing the rest of the salon, while I was trying to get out of the chair to leave. The woman working seemed annoyed but she had me sit down and the gentleman that gave me a gel manicure was extremely friendly and did a fabulous job. He was very meticulous and my nails looked great! Came here to celebrate my birthday today. Smelled "off" upon arrival. Not many regular nail polish colors to choose from. The women were not overly friendly. The gentleman did a nice enough job, very basic service. No options to upgrade pedicures. For example, they did not include lotion after the pedicure. They charge you to pay with credit card. My phone was down to 1% and I was in need of a phone charge. I know it is not a requirement for owners to share chargers. However, I was hoping the lady using her charging phone stand would have understood my predicament being out of town. I felt like it was a missed opportunity to show hospitality or compassion. Overall, just not overly helpful or friendly. I have to believe there are way better nail spas in Santa Barbara than this one. I will not be returning. read more

I can unequivocally agree that this place is simply okay. I went in last week while visiting SB and was grateful at the time to have been accepted as a walk in. In all my years of getting gel manicures, never have I witnessed it being removed solely by drilling the entire time. I wasn't sure how the rest of the appointment would go so i kind of sat back and relaxed and tried to trust the process but overall it felt extremely rushed. I didn't get the man's name but his demeanor was not welcoming or patient. My pedicure polish was uneven and sloppy looking and my nails are damaged from their removal process. Absolutely horrible experience here for a pedicure. I came in for a gel mani and a regular pedi. I told the lady sometimes I get ingrown on my big toes and they needed to be done very well. She said they were fine and did nothing. The cuticle trim was a joke. She acted like she was doing them but never trimmed them. She charged $10 to use the metal callus scraper. I have never had this be extra anywhere else. She put the callus gel on and left it on for about 30 seconds. Totally pointless. But charged me $10.00 After she painted my toes she told me to walk barefoot to the mani table. I told her no I need my flip flops on and she threw up her hands and walked off. I ended up putting them on by myself and messed up one nails a little it. She would not fix it. I told them they were not doing my mani I paid without tipping and left. She was also talking about me and another patron when I was getting my pedi. Another patron asked for the restroom. When they answered her they were totally hard to understand and the lady missed the word "key". When she came back and asked if she needed a key they were very rude and pointed to the key. After she got the key and went to the restroom they started talking about her. Horrible customer service. Would never recommend this place. read more

This was HORRIBLE!!!!! The woman in the phone was incredibly pushy and this was my very first red flag! We walked in and it was completely empty which was my second red flag along with the fact that there was only three employees in total in the entire place! I sat down and she was said "ohh you have something on your nails let your sister go first!" Of course I was kind and said of course! When my older sister was getting her nails done she told my sister that she was picky! Also while she was shaping her nails she made them way too long and was mad when my sister said to make them shorter. I was super disappointed because she denied my service for no absolute reason. I have beautiful nails and there was no reason to deny my service. We felt that they treated us poorly because we were not locals. I would not recommend this store. Also, at the end the lady kept on telling us to use the ATM and we did. I just moved back to the area from TX where SNS/dip is king, and I wanted to try Lux since they do dip nails too. Honestly, she shaped my nails perfectly! I was shocked because I've liked my nails before, but I showed a reference picture and it's the first time someone actually matched it. The dip was also super smooth, no divots, and they even helped me pick a pretty pink. $65 for dip with tips is a good price in this town. The salon is clean and feels open. Great downtown location. The gentleman who did my mani (dip) did a horrible job and my dip mani started chipping within 4-days (they usually last 3-4 weeks).
