This was the worst salon experience I have ever experienced. It's my birthday and just wanted to treat myself a little bit while being pregnant. I walked in and no one said hello or asked how they could help me. I had to speak up and ask if they had time for a pedicure after standing there for a while. They never asked if I wanted the standard or deluxe pedicure, they just asked if I wanted them to take care of the calluses, which I responded yes. She aggressively went after the first foot and did way too much and ended up cutting me pretty deep. I'm pregnant and got scared about infection so I told her to stop and that I'm done. She kept grabbing my foot trying to put it back in the water and I didn't want to keep exposing the cut to stuff and I kept responding "no" so she kept saying "trust me" and splashing the water on it saying "not that bad" and laughing and showing the rest of the salon, while I was trying to get out of the chair to leave. Came here to celebrate my birthday today. Smelled "off" upon arrival. Not many regular nail polish colors to choose from. The women were not overly friendly. The gentleman did a nice enough job, very basic service. No options to upgrade pedicures. For example, they did not include lotion after the pedicure. They charge you to pay with credit card. My phone was down to 1% and I was in need of a phone charge. I know it is not a requirement for owners to share chargers. However, I was hoping the lady using her charging phone stand would have understood my predicament being out of town. I felt like it was a missed opportunity to show hospitality or compassion. Overall, just not overly helpful or friendly. I have to believe there are way better nail spas in Santa Barbara than this one. I will not be returning. read more

I can unequivocally agree that this place is simply okay. I went in last week while visiting SB and was grateful at the time to have been accepted as a walk in. In all my years of getting gel manicures, never have I witnessed it being removed solely by drilling the entire time. I wasn't sure how the rest of the appointment would go so i kind of sat back and relaxed and tried to trust the process but overall it felt extremely rushed. I didn't get the man's name but his demeanor was not welcoming or patient. My pedicure polish was uneven and sloppy looking and my nails are damaged from their removal process. Absolutely horrible experience here for a pedicure. I came in for a gel mani and a regular pedi. I told the lady sometimes I get ingrown on my big toes and they needed to be done very well. She said they were fine and did nothing. The cuticle trim was a joke. She acted like she was doing them but never trimmed them. She charged $10 to use the metal callus scraper. I have never had this be extra anywhere else. She put the callus gel on and left it on for about 30 seconds. Totally pointless. But charged me $10.00 After she painted my toes she told me to walk barefoot to the mani table. I told her no I need my flip flops on and she threw up her hands and walked off. I ended up putting them on by myself and messed up one nails a little it. She would not fix it. I told them they were not doing my mani I paid without tipping and left. She was also talking about me and another patron when I was getting my pedi. Another patron asked for the restroom. When they answered her they were totally hard to understand and the lady missed the word "key". When she came back and asked if she needed a key they were very rude and pointed to the key. After she got the key and went to the restroom they started talking about her. Horrible customer service. Would never recommend this place. read more

This was HORRIBLE!!!!! The woman in the phone was incredibly pushy and this was my very first red flag! We walked in and it was completely empty which was my second red flag along with the fact that there was only three employees in total in the entire place! I sat down and she was said "ohh you have something on your nails let your sister go first!" Of course I was kind and said of course! When my older sister was getting her nails done she told my sister that she was picky! Also while she was shaping her nails she made them way too long and was mad when my sister said to make them shorter. I was super disappointed because she denied my service for no absolute reason. I have beautiful nails and there was no reason to deny my service. I decided to just get a simple manicure and no polish. Over all it was a horrible horrific experience and a horrible way to start of my Vacation. We felt that they treated us poorly because we were not locals. I would not recommend this store. Also, at the end the lady kept on telling us to use the ATM and we did. Got a mani and pedi a few weeks ago at Lux. 2 different men worked with me. The gentle who did my pedi was good and did a good job. The gentleman who did my mani (dip) did a horrible job and my dip mani started chipping within 4-days (they usually last 3-4 weeks). Lux charges top dollar for their work which I don't mind paying for good quality workmanship. Because my experience was unsatisfactory I do not recommend Lux Nails & Spa. read more
