We hired this company to fix our sewage system that was working, but having electrical issues. We…read moreagreed to the scope of work and paid a deposit. They started the job and then at the end of the day left the job saying they needed parts. However, the sewage system was now completely non-functional for the next 3 days while we waited for parts. Wouldn't it have been a good idea to make sure you can put the electrical system back together before taking it apart? Guess not. So 3 days of no sewage use, and the electrician comes back with a used part (only to find out later that it was the same faulty part he took out from my system). Puts it in and says he finishes the job. The same problems came back (surprise) and within 3 days the sewage overflowed due to faulty electricals. I called other companies had initially provided an estimate(but then mistakenly went with American Electrical Service) and they showed me with pictures that the system looks the same as before. Nothing had been done. So what did I pay AES for? I spoke with the AES electrician and he offered me to go with another company and he would refund my money. So I hired another company who got the job done. After agreeing to return my money, the electrician in charge ghosted me and never responded. It has been over SIX MONTHS and nothing yet. This is not the first time I have dealt with unscrupulous contractors but I am surprised a 4+ star company on Yelp is this untrustworthy. I am taking the appropriate actions on this matter including contact with the licensing board, but want to warn others that this company is unethical, irresponsible, and in my opinion, crooks. I don't want to mention the electrician by name, but I personally would not work with Mike from American Electric Service. BE WARNED.

BK Electric came out within a few days to take a look and give an estimate. I had received a lot of estimates for this project and BK Electric was in the lower middle range of the prices I got. Scheduling: This was honestly a nightmare. After I signed the contract and put down a deposit they scheduled me on a day for the following week. This outlet installation was required to be completed prior to a Costco purchased microwave delivery and installation appointment. They cancelled on me and needed to reschedule 3 separate times. Each time I was only notified the day of the scheduled appointment. This caused the follow on Costco microwave installation appointment to need to be rescheduled each time. To be fair to the person in the office, Eli, it wasn't his fault and he was properly scheduling and doing his best to get the electricians out to do the job. It was the electrians who either were calling out that day or last minute going to "higher priority" job sites. However, for the BK Electric as a whole, this is pretty terrible customer service. Work: The quality of the work seemed good. Where and how the ran the line and the junction box with the outlet installation all seemed cleanly done. However, there was an issue where they did not install a GFCI outlet in the new location that required it. This delayed the microwave installation since the Costco installers refused to install without a GFCI outlet. I had to call BK Electric and have them come back and fix it.

We needed four OLED TVs mounted, and my husband was concerned about waiting to get them up given how thin they are. Shlomi offered to "private escort" our TVs, which included removing all four of them for the cost of what it would have run us for movers' insurance and boxes. He removed them all extremely quickly, drove them to our new house, and installed them on the walls before we even moved in, all for a super fair price. Shlomi is a really nice, chill guy, he's fully insured, and he's an electrician, so he does a lot of other services. We are definitely going to have him do some other things in our home. A few things that stood out (again): - He installed the entire Frame while I was on a work call. When my call ended, he was already finished, the TV was up, and everything was clean. Zero damage, zero mess, zero disruption. - The same patience and lack of ego from the doorbell project carried over. He could have just done it his way from the start, but he respected that I had a plan and earned his way into changing it. - The result looks exactly like the Frame is supposed to look: flush, clean, like art on the wall. He's earned two installs of loyalty from me, and there will be a third, fourth, and fifth.
