Wow, the restaurant here is next level. Th service, omg! Frank was so great welcoming us and Danwel was an amazing server - he helped us pick all the best dishes! That pasta was the best pasta I've ever tasted and the mashed potatoes too omg! The tableside steak service was also next level! Highly recommend for a special occasion...especially Christmas! You could do a whole photoshoot here!! Such a beautiful spot for the holidays! I didn't even get a pic of the sleigh...But so many cute spots! And amazing service!

    Cooked medium. very good.

I made a reservation for dinner. It was a bit of a walk from Foggy Bottom metro and it was windy and cold but once I was inside it was nice. Lots of people coming and going. I found the hostess and checked in. I asked about a seat at the bar, it was jammed so I was seated at a table. The place is laid back with lighting on every table. It's on the busy side for a Saturday evening. My waiter brings the menus and wine list. I decide on a Merlot and move to reviewing the bill of fare. Lots of steak cuts...even Wagyu. The wine arrives and I put in my order for the hangar steak, cooked medium. I'm just enjoying the ambiance and atmosphere of the restaurant. After a bit the wine is gone so I order another glass. The steak and French fries with three dips arrives shortly thereafter. I have never seen three cups of fries with three different dipping sauces. I wanted to wait a few and let the meat rest and try the fries. The meat is very tender, cooked exactly as I ordered it. The seasoning and cooking yield a very tasty piece of meat. The fries are crispy and sauces are all good; I like the one in the middle the best, tangy and a little sweet. Everything is disappearing and I'm truly satisfied with the meal. The waiter comes by and I get and pay the check. Definitely a location for a perfect steak and nice glass of wine. The French fries were icing on the topper of a perfect meal.

This is a very nice hotel which is close to be a great hotel. Highlights from three stays: * central Georgetown location, easy walk to everything * Rooms are large with a very comfortable bed and good amenities. * Power plugs in all of the appropriate locations, including both sides of the bed * Blackout curtains for when you need to sleep in * Amazing brunch even if it is over the top expensive * Decent gym but no free weights * access to sauna and steam room even if you don't use the rest of the spa * staff are efficient and most are friendly * a few quiet outside patios you can relax on/work from and still access the WiFi * the concierge has gotten me reservations when places were sold out Some things that keep it from getting 5 stars: * on my most recent visit, the linens weren't clean. Housekeeping promptly fixed * if you get a room facing the street, it's quite noisy (think nyc) * the bar caters to a college crowd even though this is an upscale hotel * room service is incredibly slow and not surprisingly the food was cold Despite all of this, it's the hotel to stay in if it's in your price range

This review is only for the restaurant - I ate here while attending a security conference and the food was phenomenal (see the pics) and the service was great. There is no self parking available at the hotel and thus one must either use valet parking or park at one of the private (paid) parking spaces nearby. I parked close by in Georgetown (30th street) for $16 which was much less than the $50 that I would've paid for valet.

What a spectacular, yet pricey birthday brunch! It's an over the top affair now featuring a Mediterranean inspired brunch with a Falafel station, Oyster & Raw Bar, Charcuterie Station, and a humungous area dedicated strictly to desserts and pastries. The customer service was the real highlight of the brunch. Well, we came and conquered!! At $125pp w/$30 for unlimited mimosas, the brunch was definitely absolutely everything that I expected... on somebody else's dime!!

    Shrimp Grits room service. Yum!

Stunning place with top amenities and gorgeous views from the 5th floor room patio! Loved spending time on this patio morning and nighttime stargazing. The staff is what makes this place what it is though I couldn't have felt more welcomed or taken care of than the team that accompanied me requests during my stay at peak Cherry Blossom weekend! And I love the location too it's perfect for walking around but you'll def have to drive to go see the blossoms! If I have the chance to I will come back and stay here!

I went to the spa here, and it was very nice! The pool is beautiful, as you can see in my picture. It was a nice temperature too, and I'd love to go back to swim laps. My massage was great. My massage therapist was nice and clearly knew what he was doing. I am not a huge massage guy but I loved all the little things they do here to make the experience feel more luxurious. I enjoyed some tea, some nice cold water, etc. I also like how there are air purifiers in the rooms! My ONLY complaint is that there was a very scary spider in my locker. It was on my clothes when I went to get dressed and I was surprised.

Walking in the rain with my family and friends before me...PROTECTED!

If you have the opportunity to catch one of these evenings, it is absolutely worth the effort. I arrived early and stopped at Off the Record for a drink before heading upstairs. The bartender mentioned that this event also helps provide additional hours for staff during the slower month of August, which made me appreciate the concept even more. The Top of the Hay itself is stunning. The views and setting are exactly what you would expect from such an iconic DC property, and getting to experience a space that is typically reserved for private events made the evening feel particularly special. The drinks were also excellent. Sweet, but not overly sweet. But what really stood out was the staff. I do not say this lightly. The service was outstanding. I genuinely wish I had caught everyone's names because anyone working between roughly 4:30 and 7:30 that evening in the lobby, Off the Record, or Top of the Hay deserves recognition and a raise! Every person I interacted with was incredibly attentive without ever being overbearing. What impressed me most was that the staff remembered my schedule for the evening and made sure I left Off the Record at exactly the right time so I could be the first person to step into Top of the Hay when it opened. That level of attention to detail is rare. Beautiful space, great drinks, and truly exceptional hospitality. "Be Gin the Evening" is such a clever way to let locals and visitors experience a part of The Hay Adams they otherwise might never see. I would absolutely do it again.

Our stay at The…read moreHay-Adams was deeply disappointing and fell far short of basic expectations, let alone what you would expect from a property claiming five-star luxury. For the rates they charge, the conditions and service are unacceptable. The building is old, heavily dated, and features cheap fixings. The bathroom is tiny, featuring a cramped round sink with virtually zero counter space to set down any personal items. Furthermore, for a five-star hotel, lacking a proper hot tub and standalone shower is unacceptable. The towels provided are cheap, rough, and feel entirely out of place at this price point. The bathroom ventilation is so old and loud, that I can't even believe it's there. No fridge in the room, only a mini bar that will charge you if you move around mini bar items to place your own drinks. The view of the White House was severely misadvertised. To actually see it, you are required to pay an extra $700 on top of an already steep $600-per-night room rate. The acoustic insulation is non-existent. If anyone is staying in the room above you, forget about sleeping--every single footstep and movement carries straight through. The front desk staff was entirely dismissive. After promising to switch our room to resolve our issues, they dragged us through three separate attempts, wasted hours of our time with non-responsive answers, and then finally demanded we pay even more money to fix their mistake. After we went through, not even a complimentary breakfast or really anything. Shocked that this place is more expensive than Four Seasons, St. Regents, and the kind. This is barely a three star hotel (except location of course). Stay away.

The room was spotless, the turndown service was a nice flex, and everything felt polished. The location is clutch--walkable to fun spots and everywhere we needed to be for work. The key-card elevators are sleek, high-tech, and super secure. The restaurant and bar had great energy, and the food hit, but $24 for a drink is unhinged. Overall, a stylish, safe, and seriously fun stay. More details from my review on Google: Rooms: The rooms were exceptionally clean, comfortable, and well maintained. The turndown service was a lovely touch, and everything in the room was perfect throughout my stay. Safety: The hotel elevators felt extremely secure and high-tech. Guests must use a key card to access certain levels and floors, which added an extra layer of safety and peace of mind. It's a great security feature and made me feel very comfortable during our stay. Walkability: The hotel is conveniently located within walking distance of plenty of things to do, as well as the locations I needed to access for work. The location made my stay easy and convenient. Food & drinks: The hotel restaurant and bar had a nice atmosphere, and the food was good, but everything felt extremely overpriced. Charging $24 for one drink is absurd. I enjoyed the experience overall, but the prices make it difficult to recommend. Noteworthy details: From the moment I arrived, I was treated like a regular. The staff made me feel genuinely welcome and at home-never like an outsider in an exclusive club. Their warm, down-to-earth hospitality made the experience truly special.

Too bad stored blankets were unavailable for sleepers wanting more warmth than their traveling companions. We had to make a second request for one. May I also suggest providing more than one bar of mini soap bars. It's such a minuscule cost item but would obviate having to repeatedly move the precious one bar from sink to shower. We found the valet staff particularly helpful especially when navigating awkward arrivals and parking needs of our personal guests. Sean was a prince. He supervised an otherwise complicated set of logistics with competence and gentlemanly grace. Another shout out to the manager ( sou?) of the breakfast dining. We watched him rigorously oversee staff and guests while occasionally stepping in when helpful. His leadership is likely responsible for the professionalism of said staff. This is in direct contrast to the staff of the Willard across the street where we took the first breakfast of our stay. We were dismayed to have to endure extremely loud staff socializing, boisterous laughter and downright flirting. This type of behavior would have been unacceptable at the JWMarriott. This experience alone confirms our future choice of Marriott over Willard for annual DC visits.
