My pedicure with LaTanya was the best I've had in years. Many times in the past, I've felt very rushed and roughly handled when I would receive nail services, which creates a very negative experience. I immediately felt at ease with LaTanya. All of the ladies were so nice to talk to and made me feel so comfortable. If you're looking for an amazing, Woman-Led, Black-Owned salon for nail care and/or self care (they offer waxing, massages, and esthetic services as well!), don't hesitate to make an appointment at Nail Spa Haven. In my original review I spoke of how nice and courtesy the owner is and I stand by that. Since it was my first experience with gel, I gave them the benefit of the doubt and decided to come back today for an acrylic full set. Unfortunately, today's experience was much worse. Before he even put the tips on, he asked me at least five different times what color I wanted. I explained each time that I was still deciding because I wanted to look through the color book first. Instead of giving me a chance to choose, I felt rushed throughout the entire appointment. The nail tech was also on the phone during my service, and I felt like I didn't have his full attention. I asked for a simple, short, super square acrylic set, but my nails ended up rounded, uneven, and sloppy. I also requested a simple two-color design using a pastel yellow and pink. Instead, he used a neon yellow instead of the pastel shade I had chosen and never gave me the opportunity to choose the pink shade I wanted. As soon as he applied the colors, I politely told him I didn't like them. He huffed, walked away with a visible attitude, and made me feel uncomfortable for simply speaking up about something I hadn't asked for. At that point, I didn't want to argue, so I kindly asked him to just do white instead. Overall, I left disappointed. I expect to be able to take my time choosing my colors, have my requests listened to, and be treated respectfully if I ask for a correction. Between feeling rushed, the poor communication, the attitude when I spoke up, and the uneven quality of the nails, this experience fell far below my expectations. Unfortunately, I won't be returning.

We were told they could take us right away and within minutes one technician was preparing three side by side chairs and bowls for us. I noticed a few people come in that got seated right away and had a technician at their feet starting their service. Not my husband nor I. Our daughter started while our feet waded in the water. I began to feel my own blood boil and not from the temperature of the water my feet dangled in. I made sure to express that when I asked if we all could be serviced and was told they could I didn't expect to have in tandem service. My husband ended up opting out and took himself to the car to wait. The woman who was about to finally work on his pedicure switched over to me. I was insisting that I too no longer wanted service due to the disappointment of them not having enough technicians to take care of us simultaneously. But seeing how our daughter was in the middle of service and we would have to wait either way I've ended up staying for service. But I will never patronize this place again. With so many nail salons practically in every shopping center one would hope that they would take pride to offer stellar customer service! At the time of this review I've yet to be offered any pricing menu to determine the type of treatment I desire. Again, this place sucks for first timers and I assume they must have their regulars that they prefer catering to.

I've sat with other technicians, and honestly, everyone in there delivers five-star service. That says a lot about the quality and standards they keep. Kim and Tom, the owners, are just as amazing. They are fair, honest, and genuinely care about their clients. You can tell they take pride in running a clean, welcoming, and professional salon. If anything ever needs attention, they handle it with kindness and make sure you're completely taken care of. This place is not just a nail salon it's an experience. It's in a bigger shopping center so there's plenty of places to park. I went on a Monday afternoon before 2 PM and it was quite empty in there which I really liked. Bryan was my nail tech and I just have to say he should definitely be getting paid more. I went to Q nails and Spa, because my sister recommended it to me and she was absolutely right. It was the best place to go. Bryan asked me if I wanted a drink, and he gave me a margarita which it wasn't fancy in anyway, but just the thought and extra touch made it a better experience for me. I was able to relax in their comfortable chairs that were more on the new side, very well kept. The whole place is very clean, smells good. Everyone working there seems to respect each other as well which is a huge plus to see as a customer. I would definitely recommend this place and keep in mind that they also offer 20% off for your first visit!
