I don't usually write reviews like this, but people need to be warned. If I could give it a zero, I would. I was visiting from out of state and needed a simple soak-off and gel manicure. My regular nail tech helped me find this place based on experiences from her other clients who come here to Florida, and I trusted them. Big mistake. Kim didn't fully soak off the previous gel. She layered new product over remnants of the old set. The result? A chemical nightmare. The leftover gel reactivated under the lamp, partially cured, and burned my nail beds. My fingers physically hurt. I got to the car, looked at my hands, and almost cried. The salon had already closed and locked the door, so I had no way to go back. Mind you I had an appointment at 4 and didn't leave until 6:30. This took 2 1/2 hours. The next day, I was in so much pain I had to stop at a salon in Tampa just to get relief. They VERY carefully removed the mess and found visible nail bed damage that was peeling, weakened, and raw in spots. I have photos to prove this wasn't just a bad polish job. This was negligence. When I returned to the salon after getting back into town and then opening today to ask for a refund, they refused to take accountability. They argued with me. When I stood my ground and told them I would file a complaint with the state board, they threatened to call the police on me. Yes, for asking for a refund for a service that physically injured me. I did what I was asked to do by Sam the manager. Take pictures and come back to discuss. I'm not proud of how angry I got towards the end of being gaslit by the people in here, but let's be clear... this wasn't about a broken nail or a bad shape. This was about real pain, real damage, and a business that chose to escalate instead of take responsibility. I'm filing a dispute with my bank. I'm reporting them to the board. I'll do everything I can to make sure no one else ends up in my position. Don't go here. Don't risk your hands. read more

Stopped in for a Deluxe Pedicure. Kim was my tech and she did a fabulous job. My big toes have huge callouses and she must have removed 2/3 of the dead skin. The salon was clean and modern, with comfortable massage chairs that I took full advantage of and came out relaxed. (The shoulder heat wrap and hand/foot massages helped too.) Wonderful experience. One of the worst salons. My nails are horrible I have paint on my skin on multiple nails I had to say I wanted the paint from nail to nail. He was doing a slim painting job where either side was bare. My toes have that exact thing a splash of paint in the middle and the ends of my nail aren't done. Horrible. The place is right in one of the squares in the villages. It's super convenient. When I went before Christmas, it was not busy. So I didn't have to wait. People work there are mostly Vietnamese. The guy who did my pedi and mani are very experienced. I have ingrown nails on my toes. He treated quickly and without pain!!! Amazing. I'm so glad to be the first person to review this "business." Yes, I'm an unhappy customer and I honestly can't believe how much of a screwing I took from this establishment. I went there for a fill-in a week and a half ago. I also took my daughter so she could get nails put on for the first time. Their service was ridiculously fast. My nails look horrible. They are now yellow and lifting up at all of the edges. ALL of the nails on my daughter's right hand have come off. She is not hard her hands...it's not like she's a gardener...she's a high school student. Not only did they do an incredibly crappy job but...here's the kicker...I paid $77.00 plus two tips for this. It was $22.00 for my fill-in...of course, I was told on the phone it was only $17.00, they charged $25.00 for the full set of nails for my daughter and she asked for a design. While I was paying for my fill-in, and before I even knew what was happening, her nail tech had painted the design on everyone of her nails. So, they charged me $35.00 for the design. Yes, that makes $55.00 flushed away on nails that are no longer existent. I know it seems kind of ridiculous that I would spend that much but this was the first time my daughter had ever expressed any interest in something like this and I was excited for her. All I can say is that people in The Villages must LOVE being ripped off because that's EXACTLY what they are getting when they walk through the doors of Viva Nails & Spa. read more

I give this business maybe one star. Got a manicure and gel polish on Friday, February 3. Had to go back Saturday morning to get them fixed cause they chipped and nails broke. He did a great job fixing them and thought it would solve the problem. Sunday morning they were chipping and breaking again. Couldn't go back cause they were closed Sunday and Monday I had jury duty all day. Didn't get back until they were closed. So I went back Tuesday, February 7 in the morning and asked for them to remove the polish that was on there and I would like my $40 credited back to my credit card. The guy at the front desk raised his voice at me and said they can't do that and he spent hours on my nails and I had them all weekend and he didn't know what I did to them. I've been there two other times and had no problem. I tried to talk but he wouldn't stop yelling and told me to leave and never come back again. Who can run a business like that and get away with it???? Absolutely horrible!!!! For sure I will never go back there again!! read more

Visiting from PA and almost let a bad review keep me away. This is an Excellent salon! I got right in and they did an amazing job! Great polish choices, they had OPI which is my fav!!! Friendly staff! 8 manicure chairs and 8 massaging pedicure chairs! Got cut, filed, pumiced, salt scrub and excellent massage! Reasonable prices! Very clean! Used plastic liner in the pedicure bath! Yeah don't waste your time or money here! Had appointments with my cousin for 2:30. Waited for a few minutes before a girl and guy called us over. Not bad. They started trimming out nails and my guy was trimming skin from under my nail. Hurt like a *****! And then my nails were jagged. Like my toddler could've cut them better. Whatever. Then they say they aren't actually doing our nails and to wait more. We both wait and by the time the guy starts on me it's 3:15. I asked to fix the jagged nail and he said "don't worry about it the acrylic will cover it" so I asked again and said "please it's just bugging me" but he refused. He told me the polish I picked wouldn't look as good as a more sparkly one. Told me short nails were ugly (I hate long acrylics because of my contacts) and that the shape I wanted (rounded/almond) wouldn't be pretty and just couldn't understand why I didn't want long square nails. He put the acrylics on and asked if I liked thick nails. I said no. He proceeded to glob them on thicker than anything I've ever had done. Then he said "can I go paint this lady's nails real quick?" She was elderly and had been there longer than me so I said sure. While he went to paint her nails I showed my cousin my nails, which were ALL crooked. I was frustrated and by the time he got back it was 3:45 and they hadn't even touched my cousins nails. We said we had to go by 4 so could he just finish shaping my nails and not paint them. He said "aww you mad? I don't see why you would tell me to go paint the lady's nails if you had to leave?" I took a deep breath and said "I'm frustrated with this situation and I'd like to go now please". He tried to pester me in to painting the nails but they were thick, crooked and terrible so I kept declining politely. I paid him $26 to ruin my nails. They had used the machine for acrylics on my actual nails and it cut all my cuticles so when I soaked my nails in acetone they burned like hell. Took over 2 hours of soaking over 3 days to get them off due to the thickness. Do not waste your time or money here. They tell you your choices are ugly, do not listen, and even with appointments, no one touched my cousins nails the whole time. Oh and the icing on the cake? The guy doing my nails saying "sorry were understaffed today (Monday). We had a party yesterday and 3-4 people are sick from it (hangovers) and one got a DUI! I wish I could fire them but we need people" so they were "behind" because their employees were hungover and at court for a DUI. Nice thing to tell customers! I just wanted to have a relaxing mani pedi. Nope not what happened. Berated by nail tech for an hour for wearing high heels, being too sensitive, not understanding what he was saying, using my phone. Accused me of being Russian and then gave me a geography/history lesson about the countries which comprise the United Kingdom. Suggested that my husband wouldn't put sandals on my feet as he had.
