Came to Christine yesterday to have her blend my extensions. I really just needed a good layer cut. I knew she was gonna be good after looking at pictures but she exceeded my expectations. I didn't have extensions on my sided so it was basically like a mullet but she was able to blend everything so well. Super pleased with how my hair came out. This review is for Mary! Some Background: I had really, really long hair (to my tush). I flat iron my hair about 3 times a week, so it is really damaged. I also cut my own bangs every few months, which doesn't work with my long Persian hair but yet, I continue to try. My hair was so long that I had no choice but to put it up in a bun or in a ponytail. In other words, it was a long, scraggly mess. The Cut: I've gone to other salons but it seems like most stylists are afraid to mess with really long hair, but not Mary. Mary listened to everything I had to say (which wasn't much because I'm totally clueless when it comes to my hair). She took control and definitely didn't hold back. She gave me tons of lovely layers, got rid of ALL of my split ends, and tamed my bangs. I came in with a ton of long, lifeless hair, but she actually gave me some style. The Aftermath: My hair is still long, but feels a lot lighter. It's actually pleasant to touch (for the first time in months!!) and looks a lot healthier. Not going to lie, but I look damn good :) If you have long hair and need some shape, go see Mary! Just came back from my haircut with Christine and I am so pleased with the work. For the last year I have been going over the hill to a salon in the 90210 and while I love my stylist there, it's getting tough to afford and driving all the way over there sucks. Been trying for several years to find a great stylist in the Valley and I am so happy I found Luxe Parlour. I love LUXE - April is fantastic!! I am happy to drive for 90 minutes just to have April touch up my roots! ;-) I started seeing her when I was trying to grow my super-short haircut out, and she gave me my first set of extensions. I was pretty nervous - I'm fairly low-maintenance and wasn't sure if I would be able to take care of them. April did such a great job - the extensions looked totally natural, and I got tons of compliments. Now that my hair has grown out, April cuts and colors my hair, and does a wonderful job. Let me start off by saying, well deserved 5 stars. My cousin and I just spontaneously wanted to do our hair yesterday. We didn't have any appointment and we were first time customers. I made the call and the nicest lady, Des, answered. I was expected her to say they didn't have room for TWO girls that wanted cut and color done on a Saturday but some how she was able to fit us in. We get to the salon and they were not expecting two Asian haired girls to want blonde hair. I already had blonde hair but my roots were in need of a desperate touch up (more like half of my head needed a touch up lol). My cousin on the other hand just had blonde highlights and pretty much all black hair. Belen, our stylist, made it work! She worked on both of us at the same time. We definitely put her to work. My cousin and I both felt terrible using up all of her time but she absolutely did not mind. SHES THE BEST! She gave us exactly what we wanted. Everyone at the shop was super friendly and easy to chit chat with. Des, the receptionist, took really good care of us. Kept checking to see if we were ok. We were there till well after they were closed (sorry ladies!) All in all, best experience ever. Will definitely be coming back and this time I won't wait 6 months for a root touch up lol read more

I have nothing but glowing reviews when it comes to my stylist for 6 years, Christine George. She is absolutely versatile as a stylist. Over the years, my look has changed from conservative to rocker and all the stages in between. Every time, Christine has been able to replicate my new look effortlessly! I've received so many compliments from strangers on my hair (people have come up to me at plays, grocery stores, malls, you name it!). I don't trust any other stylist to touch my hair. In fact, I've followed Christine to 3 different salons over the years and waited until she came back from maternity leave before getting a haircut! Here's the process: I usually bring in a photo from a magazine of a hairstyle I like. She gives me an honest assessment of whether or not the hairstyle can work for my hair type. I'm writing this review in Feb 2016, but my actual haircut happened in October 2015. My experience with Christine - hands down - was the absolute BEST hair salon experience I've ever had! FIrst off, I have weird hair. It's very thin but wavy (and sometimes frizzy), so it looks full but really isn't. I basically have very little hair, but it looks like a lot. My boyfriend had used Yelp to locate a great stylist in the area, and was treating me to a "farewell LA" hair treatment since we were moving to the DC area in a few weeks. He found some wonderful reviews for Luxe Parlour (Christine in particular), so he booked an appointment for me. When I came in, I was greeted by one of the staff and she seated me and we had a little small talk. Moments later, Christine - the salon owner and stylist-extraordinare - came out. She was so very down to earth, knowledgeable, and skilled. She even kept apologizing for not having makeup on and not having her own hair done (something about running late due to her kids and school). That was the key. She wasn't trying to give me a completely different look. She listened to what issues I was having, assessed the situation, took the time to look at my hair, my face, and make suggestions as to what would enhance what I already have. While living in SoCal, I sported light brown highlights with my black hair. As an Asian woman, highlights sometimes turn orange so it was definitely time for a change. Plus, I was moving to DC and highlights would no longer be appealing in an area where bright sunny days are not a daily thing. Christine gave me layers to make my thin hair look fuller yet stylish, mixed up a dark color for me to cover my fading highlights and my emerging grey hairs, and also gave me a hair glaze treatment. She also wrote down recommendations for specific brands of shampoo and conditioner that she felt would be healthy for my particular hair. While I sat for the color to set in, she told me to be sure to stick around after my blowout so she could double check my hair to make any final touchups, if needed. Another one of her staff did my blowout since Christine had moved on to the next customer, and I was at the cashier to make payment. However, she came over and urged me back in the seat so she could do a final walkthrough of my hair to make sure everything was perfect. I love this lady! I had visited her at her original salon, but I believe she has now moved to another location. If you want a salon and stylist that offer care and expertise, I'd highly recommend booking an appointment with Christine at Luxe Parlour. I was looking for a salon close to home when I stumbled across Luxe. It's a cute little salon with cool art on the walls. (I believe they try to do art shows every so often, if I'm not mistaken.) I was greeted immediately and was in the chair promptly. Christine listened to what I wanted. I have very short hair and I'm always willing to "go shorter." A lot of times I find people are hesitant to cut my hair too much as they think it's not what I want. Christine immediately said she wasn't scared "to take me there." And she wasn't. I walked out with a great edgy cut that I'm very happy with. She even said that if I didn't like it within the first two weeks, she would fix it no problem. All I can say is that I feel real lucky to live so close to this little valley gem!! I have lived close to Luxe Parlour for over a year now and I finally decided a couple of months ago to check it out based on all of the amazing reviews all I can say is that I feel absolutely NO regrets. Up until finding Christine at Luxe it was always such a challenge to find a hair stylist who understood my vision and specific wants for how I wanted my hair to look and I hated that other hair stylists would just choose to do whatever they wanted with my hair instead of asking me if I would be open to their ideas, so for a while I stopped going to hair salons. Christine restored my faith in coming in to a salon to get my hair done, she is truly a hair magician!!!!!! She is just THE BOMB is really all I can say. What I really love is that she cut my hair to compliment my face shape without having to put in any sort of extensions (Which I hate) . I found Christine on lifebooker and was pretty hesitant about letting someone new touch my hair...but I have to say...im SO HAPPY I DID! she obviously been doing this for a long time and has a lot of experience which made me feel very comfortable. She gave me EXACTLY what I wanted, and honestly what more can you ask from a good hair stylist? I got highlights and then she cut my hair one inch off like I asked (not more like other stylists) and gave me really nice layers (finally real layers!). I've been seeing Christine (owner / stylist extraordinaire) for about a year or longer at her cute new location after finding her on lifebooker on my quest to find my regular place. She definitely gets the job done in a professional, friendly manner and is the only person capable of not making me look like a six year old! She's also very good at telling you what's not possible despite you craving a hairstyle that totally wouldn't suit you, your lifestyle or your hair but she's also spot on about what would. I book my appointments in advance ie when I leave my current appointment as she gets really busy and I want to know for sure I can see her when I need to. Plus this way, I know I'm gonna get my hair cut / colored so I don't make little...adjustments... myself! Can we give a round of applause for Christine? Clap clap clap clap!! She's a magician. She's an artist. She knows what she's doing and she does it well. I made my appointment for 1. She has another client in the seat and she was very nice and apologetic about being a bit behind schedule. I didn't mind as that's not something we can control, right?! Right. So I get in the chair after explaining (probably really badly and vaguely) about what I wanted and she started snipping away. I had really really long and thick hair that tangles easily. I'm sure her arms were sore after all the cutting and the fabulous blow dry. My hair looked bomb diggity. Like wow I looked super cute. My layers were soft and cascading like a waterfall in Fiji. My head left lighter and looked so sleek and shiny after the cut! This is why I really appreciate Christine and will always go back: I paid with cash but I had made an appointment online using my card as a placeholder. I came home to find my card had been charged too. So I called Christine and she was sooooo nice to offer my cash back since I was worried the charge wouldn't drop. She called made a couple calls for me to ease my anxiety of having my card charged. The charge dropped after a couple days but she was kind enough to follow through to make sure everything was okay. I was in dire need of a trim and looked for a place with good reviews to try out. I am glad I came here. I made the appointment over the phone and they were very courteous. I was running behind the day of my appointment, I called ahead to push it 30 min and they were nice enough to do so. They have parking in the back of the salon. There are only a few spots but I was able to park since I came mid afternoon on a Wednesday. I assume on weekends they must be busier but there is meter parking and also some free street parking on the surrounding streets. My hair came out great. The stylist really listened to what I wanted and did a great job. The only one suggestion I would make to the salon is to offer clients some water, coffee or tea as they do in other salons. It's a small detail to make clients feel extra pampered. I like that the cutting capes have a clear pocket in the front so I was able to check my phone while getting my cut and blow dry. read more

I've been coming to Luxe for over a year and realized I needed to write my review. I have curly/wavy hair, and have always been afraid of trying new stylists (one awkward triangle cut was enough to scar me for life). My hair is a big part of me and it makes me nervous. I did a ton of online research and found Christina at Luxe and the Deva cut system. I was nervous my first time, but walked out ecstatic and have come back ever since. Christina is AMAZING. The Deva cut is exactly what I've been looking for. It shapes my hair nicely and the haircuts always grow out really well. It's always bouncy, sexy and fun. I get TONS of compliments and feel like it gives my hair new life, giving me confidence. Plus, she always mentions that if something looks off, I can stop by and she'll correct it. Fortunately, I've never had to. She's fun and friendly and there's just the right amount of stylist small talk :) The salon is easy to find, with good street parking (and a small lot in the back). The space is open and breezy, with cool style. They always have coffee, water, and a decent selection of magazines to read while you dye or dry. I came to Luxe Parlour about 2 years ago with a Lifebooker coupon. I was nervous about cutting off my long wavy hair because most stylist mess it up. They add too many layers and I end up looking like Sally Field. I came prepared with a picture and Christine knew exactly what I wanted. So, I came back. Kala Guess has been doing my hair for over a year now and I couldn't be more happy! I work as an actress and my hair (looks) are part of the job... I came to her with brassy color that was looking dull and she immediately fixed the color and cut. I have a very specific cut that is A-line and she nails it every time. I say that because it is hard for some stylist to meet my specific needs and she always listens and takes the time to get it right. I called to set an appointment and was booked the same day. It has taken me quite a while to get this review up, cause every time I got around to it I would remember how cute my hair was and I'd instead get too distracted taking selfies :D. Anyway I am still beyond words at how happy I am with the entire experience at this salon. I had been thinking about cutting off my super long hair for a couple of months before I finally decided to go through with cutting off about 18 inches off! I was very nervous but the minute I got there Christine assured me that I would be taken care of. Although Christine wasn't the one to cut my hair, she was around to check in on the process and was so kind to give me a free hair care product on the house. Daphne was unbelievable! Fellow Male Yelpers, As a guy in Los Angeles there are only a million different places to get your hair cut. And most places will give you the same old buzzer cut that is OK. But its just that. Its OK. I've been searching for a place that doesn't just give you an OK hair cut but a hair cut and style that makes you look good. A friend of mine recommended a number of places which I checked out but they were always the same thing and very expensive. So I walked into into Luxe and immediate three different ladies asked me if they could help me. (which... lets me serious... it's nice.) I got a fantastic haircut from a lovely young lady named Sarah, who asked me questions all through the process, gave me a shampoo (with a bit of a head rub... awesome) She didn't just whip out the buzzers and go to town on my head, and then say you're done and charged me an arm and a leg. She styled my hair, which is pretty important in my book. I don't have a lot of hair (I'm a guy) but I still want it to look good. So awesome service, a great hair cut, with style, a shampoo, and the price was a lot cheaper than I thought it was going to me. There was actually an awkward moment when I thought maybe she was flattering me and cutting me a deal... until I found out that that was the regular price. Yeah... not my finest moment there... BEST PART is that I met up with the lady I've been seeing later that evening and not only did she comment on the new do, but she kept running her hands through my hair... and YES... that is the main goal.
