I came here back in October for a Manicure and Pedicure and got the dazzle polish. I was super impressed! My nails lasted 4 weeks and they were easy to remove with nail polish remover. Liked it so much, I went last Thursday (5 days ago) and did a mani/pedi with dazzle again. I went in the evening and by the next morning my nails already started chipping. I called them to let them know and they apologized and told me to come back. They had the same nail tech redo my nails, except I opted in to pay for no chip because I didn't trust the dazzle. They wrote off the $5 up charge which was nice. The tech asked me if I do house work. It hadn't even been 24 hours yet. What does that even matter? Last time I got dazzle they lasted so long. I thought getting the no chip was the move until my nails started chipping on Monday. Less than 3 days later. Come onnnnn!!! I'm super over it, I don't have time to drive the 30 min to re do them again. I'm going on vacation with chipped nails which is annoying as heck! I'm pretty sure it's the techs technique because I've done my nails many times, at one point for a few years straight and never had this issue. Disappointed to say the least! Waste of time and money Really hard to see in the photos because I ended up doing a neutral color. Glad I did or they'd be super noticeable. SMH. I booked an appointment in advance with Owusa but was seated with Helen. I brought it up and they said that happens in the system sometimes? I didn't really understand the explanation but she did so kindly. My pedicure ultimately felt pretty rushed which was sad as I was wanting a relaxing experience on Valentine's Day but they were quite busy. Front desk service was kind as was Helen! She was patient with me as I was indecisive on colors, they don't have a lot of options for non gel it seems which was also disappointing. Helen was very friendly! They offer refreshments but I did have to ask for it, no one offered it to me like the others. I booked a manicure and pedicure in advance, but once my pedicure was over the black woman at the front told me she'd check my ticket and never came back. She also told me she'd bring me a color book and never brought that either. Again I'm attributing this to the salon being busy but it was pretty bad service today. No one is walking around asking how things are going either. I ended up not getting the manicure that I booked because no one serviced me. The manager offered me to wait or come back with a discount which I declined. Not a great Valentine's Day experience I hope for better experiences in the future. I had my pedicure with Helen 2 wks ago. On the same day i noticed a toenail wasn't completely painted, so i had to come back to get that fixed. It's now the 2nd week. My toe nails feel longer and the cuticles and the nail bed weren't pushed back enough. I just did it myself and the cuticles weren't cleaned up which makes the pedicure looking extremely grown out on week 2. This isn't typical of my previous pedicures to have to get it redone so soon. Luxo was recommended to me, specifically for their "gel builder" manicure as I was looking for an alternative to no-chip. I wanted something that would last me longer as I was heading out of town. The manicurist assured me it will last so long that you can come back get your nails filled. I paid $107 for a gel builder manicure and regular pedicure. This price was with their happy hour discount and not including the tip I left. I was there for over two hours! The manicurist seemed to have taken her time and I was happy with how they looked. Unfortunately the nails started chipping within days. 5 days later multiple were peeling back, 9 days later a few had fallen off. By the time I hit the ten day mark they had all fallen off!!! Had I not been out of town I would have gone back when they started peeling back and had them redo them. However, the point is to go to a place where you trust their work enough that you get what you pay for. I was told they should last forever and I should come back in 3 weeks for a fill-in. Giving it a one star. No bottled water, juice drink, or slushie can compensate/mask for the service (or lack of) that you are paying for. I do also want to note that my pedi started chipping about a week lasted as well. read more

I needed a break from my normal nail tech that's been doing my nails for almost 5 years. He kept acting annoyed that my fingers were never relaxed and more than once he nipped and hurt my cuticles with his electric drill/buffer. So I wanted to get revenge and cheat on him at the new nail salon 5 minutes away! So Luxo Nail Spa here I come... The moment I walked in I was warmly greeted by a nail tech. He asked me what I wanted done and I told him just a regular pedicure with regular nail polish. I was told to go ahead and pick my colors and he offered me a slushy cocktail beverage, water, and a cookie - all on the house! He had me at cocktails and cookies! I wish I remembered my nail tech's name but he was Latino and very sweet and charming. Great conversationalist too. Made me feel relaxed the whole time. He took a little long on getting the pedicure complete (about an hour) but I was not in a rush at all. Pamper me, please! He did a great job on my toes, filed them well and gave me a nice massage, sugar scrub, and warm towel treatment. And this was just the standard pedicure! Imagine if I got the deluxe package. I paid $100 for a Russian manicure with Masha. She showed up 15mins late and the building was closed. Ok, fine, traffic. I get it. The mani was good, polish flawless but there were still some areas of cuticle surrounding my nails that didn't look perfect. Again, it's ok, i get it. 13 days later my thumb chips. I call, they have me come in for a free repair at 11:15. I show up on time and wait and wait. 30mins later a woman from the front desk says "sit here I'll drill it off". No smile, no sorry it's 30mins of waiting and not the person you paid a premium to see the first time. Then they leave me sitting at the table. I finally just got up and left. Told the front desk i was going to leave and they said "ok". Now this place is EXPENSIVE. I also drove from the burbs. At this price point the hard gel should last. At this price point you should get a call of the tech is running more than 30mins behind. I had high hopes. While I appreciate that you offered to honor the repair slightly past the standard window, I am very disappointed with the quality. It had an upscale vibe to it, with snacks and drink options, plenty of nail gems and charms to choose from as well as a ton of books with color choices / options for polish. Tony did a fabulous job on both my nails and my toes- at 7 months pregnant, I REALLY enjoyed the hot stone massage done on my legs and feet followed by some oil and another massage. I strongly caution anyone considering this salon. They advertise and charge for hard gel manicures, but what they are actually giving is soft gel manicures. Hard gel and soft gel are not the same -- hard gel is more durable and typically more expensive. Passing off one service as the other is deceptive and cheats clients out of what they're paying for. Even more troubling, I learned from a former employee that the salon does not allow staff to keep their tips. Most of us leave tips believing they go directly to the technician who provided the service. Knowing that management pockets those tips instead feels dishonest and unfair to both customers and employees. Between misrepresenting services and taking tips from staff, this salon is not trustworthy. I would not recommend risking your money or your time here -- there are many other salons that are upfront, honest, and actually value their employees and clients. read more

Video loops present a vast array: From dips to chrome to gel to seriously sculptural choices. Among its options is Dazzle Dry, a "clean" brand of polish that lasts long and dries in less than 10 minutes flat. Combine that with a meticulously executed pedicure and your feet will look and feel fabulous for at least four weeks. Although its colors are limited due to the relative newness of Dazzle Dry, and it's slightly more expensive, it's worth it because time is money. There are two locations. What really concerned me was how inconsistent and unprofessional the whole booking process was. I was told I could secure the party with a $250 deposit by credit card. Mid booking, the receptionist called the owner and suddenly the policy changed. I was now told I had to send $225 via Zelle to reserve the party. When I questioned why, I was told their system won't allow the cc deposit. When I said Ok, I'll call back later this week I needed to think about it, the receptionist responded with: "Ok well you'll get the same response then too." Requesting a non-refundable payment through Zelle (which offers no consumer protection) after initially offering credit card payment is a major red flag. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I would not feel comfortable trusting this business with an event. read more

I haven't treated myself to a manicure in over a year, so I was really excited to get my nails done before my vacation and decided to try this place out because of the other reviews. I called and scheduled my appointment for 2pm with Cherry since she had received a few positive shoutouts. I arrived at 1:59pm and was not sat with Cherry until 58 minutes later. It seemed there was a miscommunication between the person who scheduled my appointment and the person managing the nail techs. I finally sat with Cherry to get a dip treatment, but they couldn't find the dip powder in the color I selected, so Cherry suggested an alternate treatment. I'm not sure exactly what it's called, but she molded this pink goop on my nail and then painted the color I wanted with a gel polish I believe. She decided to "clean up my cuticles" last, and I was totally butchered. 3 of my fingers bled, but my pinky took the brunt of the pain. She played it off like it wasn't a big deal. She also sort of blamed it on my "virgin nails" that they were too sensitive... I've gotten manicures at other salons and my cuticles have never suffered like this. The manicure didn't involve any hand massage or moisturizer. She just sent me on my way. The bleeding was so bad, the receptionist took one look at me and called Cherry over to have a conversation with her. They disinfected my finger and wrapped in a bandaid. They gave me a 50% discount, but I wish I had been more assertive in that moment and said I wasn't going to pay at all. 3 days later and my pinky is still in bad shape (see picture attached). I'm so disappointed that after all this time of saving money, I chose to "treat myself" to this painful experience at this salon. read more
