Luxor limo picked us up from the LGA airport in New York. The car itself was nice. The driver however was a hot mess! when he pulled up to the airport he didn't get out of the car to open the doors for us -- he pushed a button while he was in the car for the trunk to open automatically & as my husband was putting the luggage in the back the driver pushed the button again & the trunk door hit my husband on the back of the head. in general the driver was a terrible driver -- said cuss words when we hit traffic & didn't get out of the car when he dropped us off again & again tried to close the tail gate too fast when we were reliving our own luggage. Totally not worth the money we spent on our 1 way trip from the airport to the hotel -- we should have just taken a taxi. If you get a Luxor limo watch out for Alex the driver!!! read more

I guess the issue with the Limos for weddings always have problems- I would have thought Luxor would charge the balance the day before the wedding and not at the time the Limo was supposed to had been at the hotel picking up the bride!!well I thought wrong and between the nervousness of the wedding and all that was going on we forgot to update the security code of the cc and of course the Limo which was on its way was returned , this caused unnecessary stress! They are very nice people, but if you book with them plan on them being at least 20 minutes late even if you call earlier. You need to be at JFK 60 minutes prior to departure to check bags. Because they were so late picking us up, we literally, and I am not exaggerating, we had 2 minutes to check our bags. I would schedule them for 1/2 hour before you actually need to leave so you can be on time. read more

The worst company I've ever seen. Not professional at all. Otherwise, they would never ever employ such a driver. Reviews could really be misleading. I don't remember having been this much disappointed in my entire life. The driver we had was like a joke. Let alone having a smile, or a simple welcome greeting, he bangs the doors, smokes while driving!!, and even curses.  He says anybody can complain about him and that he doesn't care. If this company has a surveillanve camera within the vehicle, they should watch the way he treates his customers. We were obliged to tip him before we even saw him. Now I can tell why. We had to call the police and got the tip back. Even the policemen understood right away what sort of guy he was. If I were you , I would think really hard before booking with them! read more

Great ride from midtown to EWR. Driver, Kasam was wonderful and very much on time. In fact he called to say that he was ready to take us 20 min before the requested pick up time. Also I reserved for a sedan and was upgraded to a Cadillac SUV. Wonderful way to end my trip in NYC. The only buzz kill was that I was quoted without the toll fee so when the confirmation email came, the price was $20 more than the quoted price. read more

I requested the services of this company for my sons H.S prom. Being able to book a vehicle on the requested day seemed pretty easy and the person I spoke to (Diana)seemed pretty nice,but once the day of my sons prom arrived, it was a different story. We booked a Sedan for 6 hours and it all totaled $455.00. The company not only sent the wrong vehicle (Lincoln Town car) but they never called to tell us there was a problem with the vehicle we requested, but the funny thing is we did receive a call (2 hours before pick up) about authorizing payment and even at that point nothing was mentioned. When decided to call the company because we had been waiting for a good 20 minutes after the scheduled pick up time, Luxor Limo then called the driver of the Lincoln who then proceeds to get out of his vehicle and walk over to us...he was parked outside all along, he never got out of the car to say anything to us even though he saw everyone standing outside taking pictures and looking up and down the block for a SEDAN!!!!. Then and only then did Luxor Limo tell us about an issue with the vehicle we ordered, they claimed the Sedan "broke down", so when asked why they didn't notify us they came up with some lame excuse as to why they didn't call but tried to offer a 20% discount which wasn't nearly enough in my opinion to consider the Lincoln town Car which wasn't even from their company, it was a third-party company they sent instead!! It's disgusting how this company tried to take advantage of us because they assumed we were in a vulnerable position being that it was a Prom and we would go along with whatever they sent... WRONG!! After a lot of back and forth Luxor Limo agreed to send an upgraded vehicle which would have taken another 30 minutes to arrive (so they said) but the kids would have been even more late for their prom. After being totally disgusted and frustrated by how they handled the situation we decided to cancel their services all together and demanded a full refund, which we got. The company sent an oversized SUV when we requested a limousine so be careful with your wording. The ride went well, they were 14 minutes late so just under the 15 minute mark. The ride was smooth though and we had a great driver! read more

Driver did not meet us at gate as arranged but instead at exit. Driver also was not familiar with getting us from JFK to Upper West Side.

I've used this service a few times and have had overall good experiences. However, the driver that I had today was very rude. I asked to be met inside because I had several large suitcases and couldn't manage them by myself especially since I had my emotional service dog with me on the trip. I made sure to ask you via email/messages if you allow service dogs in the car and was reassured by 2 different people that it was no problem at all. The driver once we got to the car made a comment that" now he has to vacuum all over again because of my dog." He said he was not told that I had my dog with me and was very rude. I also put down a blanket on the floor to try and minimize the fur. At the end of the day after hours traveling that last thing I need is to be treated this way. Also, once we arrived at my house I had 3 huge and heavy suitcases and 2 smaller ones. It was nearly 11pm and I had to take the bags up a flight of stairs and could have really used the help but instead he sat in his car and waited for me to give him his tip. He was trying to get me to pay the tip in cash instead of being included in the bill so he didn't have to pay taxes on it. After he realized that I wasn't able to do that he drove off leaving me there to manage it all on my own. So far this has been an isolated incident as my past trips with you have been pleasant. read more

We ordered a 10 person limo for our wedding party for pictures. Good thing the pictures took place close to our venue because Luxor sent us an 8 person limo. We had exactly 10 people but could barely squeeze in. The driver insisted it was a 10 person, but my wife showed him on the door, it said" 8 person limo". On top of the fact that it was not the correct size, the driver was rude to everyone, including my wife on her wedding day and had horrible customer service skills. We would have been better off renting an UBER. After my honeymoon I called Luxor customer service and told them about my experience. Instead of listening and trying to offer any type of solution, they also insisted it was 10 person limo and made no apologies. The manager of the customer service was also rude and made me feel like I was in the wrong. I guess Luxor forgot about the customer always being right. With an attitude, the customer service manager charged me for an 8 person limo. Thanks for the $40 dollar refund. I would suggest you look elsewhere for a limo service. Now I know why UBER will take over the car service business. read more

though the experience could have been great, the music system flat-out DID NOT WORK for the first half of the ride. the driver had to pull over and even he could not figure it out. finally we called the office and they gave us a convoluted explanation about how we had to delete previous users in order to access the system. come on, Luxor, get your music system in order. The process of booking with Luxor was great. Their staff was quick to respond and especially helpful when our flight was delayed. The limo itself was very clean. The only thing that I wouldn't recommend was the "meet & greet". Although the driver was at the meeting point on time, he wasn't overly professional. Our name was on a makeshift piece of paper and we had to walk all the way down to the parking level and across the parking lot to access the car. It just wasn't worth the additional fee for the extra hassle of dragging our bags across the parking area when you can be picked up curbside for no added cost. read more

What a horrible experience. The car was supposed to be waiting curbside. The plane lands and it takes me 20 minutes to get outside. No car. I call and wait 5 minutes before they answer. Car is " on its way". I wait another 10 minutes. No car. I call them again and say I'm taking a cab. They say they are sorry. Get in the cab - 10 minutes later they call me in the cab and say they are charging me. This place is a complete rip-off!!! read more

We've always had a pleasant experience with this service. However this trip was horrible. Our chauffeur Rafael texted to let me know he was on site and waiting in baggage claim. He wasn't. After being rudely talked to for 20+ plus minutes telling me I was in the wrong place, he realized he was. He blamed the airline with little apology to me. Overall I was not entirely satisfied with the service. One star was earned by their customer support team: booking the driver was quick and easy by phone. One star was earned by arriving in a timely manner for our departure. It was inconvenient that our driver was unable to effectively communicate with us in English-- it required a good ten minutes to explain the route and the final destination, as we had to walk through it word by word. Also, the driver was not very smooth on the road- a fair amount of unnecessary braking on uncrowded highways. Also, the trip took longer than expected because the driver was consistently slower than the average speed of traffic. We averaged 65mph while the majority of cars were at 70+mph or so- maybe this is a company policy that I am unaware of. Overall, we made it to our destination. read more

Nice limo,but our driver did not even get out of the car to greet us, open doors for the ladies etc. During the ride, there was no communication from the driver unless we tapped on the window. Upon our arrival to our hotel, still no door open , no thank you for using our company or nothing, driver unloaded our luggage on the curb, got in the car and drove off. I would never, ever use this company again. maybe it was because we were people of color, but never again. They need to get rid of that driver. read more

Luxor was on its way to five stars based on my first trip, but they get dinged one star for being a half hour late on the second trip and making me call three times to find out where the driver was. The trips were from JFK into and back out of midtown Manhattan, the first at 1 p.m. and the second at 6:30. The cars were clean and in good repair and my calls to make and change the reservations in the days leading up to them were answered quickly and handled competently and politely. The driver from JFK to midtown was about 10 minutes early, which was great. Traffic was horrendous in town but fortunately I'd scheduled two hours to make the drive, which took even longer than the company estimated. Not the driver's fault, however. The leg from the Broadway area back to JFK was more problematic, as the driver got stuck, apparently, in traffic. I called ten minutes before the scheduled pickup to get the car number in case he was waiting, but was told that he expected to be about ten minutes late because of the traffic. Twenty minutes later I called again; still stuck in traffic about two blocks away, they said, but it would be about another ten. He finally arrived at 7 p.m., 30 minutes late. I had a considerable cushion of time before I needed to be back at the airport, but would have liked the company to provide the updates unprompted, instead of having to call them three times. As a business traveler on the road about 12 days out of each month I've used my share of limo services, and the drivers themselves, while professional and polite, weren't very smooth in actually operating the cars compared to what I've experienced elsewhere. There was a lot of brake stabbing even on the highway. I also dislike the company policy of charging an automatic gratuity, which should be at the passenger's discretion. That's why it's a gratuity: it's additional payment for good service, not a defacto automatic handout. It's admittedly convenient to just get out of the car after the ride and leave without having to handle receipts or sign anything, but it's not so convenient that I wouldn't rather have control over whether and how much I tip someone. Overall I'd call this company again; I think that things would have run more smoothly if midtown Manhattan at rush hour hadn't been part of the equation, but on the other hand it's their job to take the time and location into account and plan accordingly. read more

I have never actually felt the need to write a review of a company until today, but I think everyone who is considering using this company needs to hear my experience. I ordered an 8 passenger limo as a ride to an event in Manhattan and used the point to point service option. I made the reservation online without any issues and thought that was the end of it. Sadly, it wasn't. 9 days AFTER the confirmation email was sent, they canceled my order. They left a message on my phone saying that I could not use the point to point service option for prom. This left me very confused as I was not going to a prom, so I figured this must have been a mistake. After calling them up, they explained that it was a prom day and the minimum amount of time I would need to rent the limo for was 6 hours. This was absolutely ridiculous as I did not need a limo for even half that time, nor did I want to pay $200+ extra for THEIR mistake. This left me without a ride for an event that I was looking forward to with my friends for a while now. If the 6 hour minimum was stated ANYWHERE throughout the booking process, or even if my order was canceled the day after, I would not have been mad. In my opinion, canceling 9 days after a confirmation with no viable reason is ridiculous. They are obviously looking to make as much money as they can, without any regard for their customers. I would advise anyone who is thinking about using this company to totally rethink their decision. Luxor Limo is NOT a reliable company and should not have the pleasure of your business or your hard earned cash. read more

The driver was in time and expected us at the gate. We had a lot of luggage but he didnt help us. Wen I strungeld with two big Golfbags he started to help me. The car was as we expected, clean, water inside, everything ok. The driver didnt know how to remove the chairs to load the luggage. Also he was not able to handle heavy peace of luggage due to his physical constitution. He was friendly and we had a good drive to our hotel, but without my husbands help he was not able to make work like this. In my opinion it is a service and a must to help a women with a lot luggage and to be able to load and reload a car. In our case the driver was ( perhaps to old) and not organized. read more

I go to NY every year the day after Thanksgiving and depart on the night of the lighting of the Rockefeller Tree - traffic nightmares. I always use Luxor and will continue to do so. One of my colleagues left the hotel on Times Square an hour before I did to go to LaGuardia and he was in his cab for two hours - it took us only about 50 minutes and that was in gridlock traffic - we definitely went the better route :) read more

The driver went to the wrong cruise terminal and then when he went to the correct one he dropped us off so far from the terminal we had a very long way to walk with all of our luggage. I tried to dispute the charges with the limo company but was told we were provided with the services for which we were billed. That's just bad customer service and we will NEVER EVER use this company again. read more

Ordered 2 Sprinter Vans to move wedding guests from hotel to Venue. a very short rife between both sites. Both Drivers were un-attentive, No Air Conditioners when it 90 deg outside and My guests were not attended to with any urgency. Sat around and didn't do anything but sit there and my guests needed to track them down. Really.... The drivers were clueless although they received direct instructions from me. They were terrible and I Should have never tipped them and should receive a refund. Unfortunately there was a fire on the path between the Venue and hotel that caused a disruption in the service. No fault of mine or the driver. The driver laughed at me when I asked them to do a little extra time and I offered to pay them. My guests were stranded. You believe that... He laughed at my request. I would not use these folks ever again and do not recommend you using them either. the worst money I ever spent. I needed to find an alternate way to get my guest back to the hotel after they left. My fiancé's bachelor party was this weekend so we booked with Luxor Limo as a friend recommended them. My fiancé was impressed with the limo, which was new, detailed and clean, with water/whisky provided and amazing sound system and uplighting. He said that the drivers were professional and helpful. The limo was 25 minutes late, but they did honor the $100 refund for being late on the pickup, which we appreciated. We would definitely book with them again as it is clear that customer care is a priority. read more

We used this service twice. It is hard to score based on two very different experiences. Our first pick up with Ikromjon "Jon" was superior! He was standing at luggage pickup and smiled introduced himself, helped with bags and very nice. He talked to us about the area and was just overall a pleasant man. Based on that seamless experience we booked for pickup to go back after our trip. Second ride to airport was HORRIBLE and not good at all ! Based on this experience I would not have re booked with Luxor ~EVER. and still considering if I will in the future. The driver showed up late and did not introduce himself so I have no idea what his name is. When he arrived he opened the trunk and pointed at our luggage about 4 ft from him and said rudely " Get me your luggage". Then had made a rude comment about my husband calling Luxor prior to his arrival to us. Which my husband did, wanting to be sure the driver knew where we were. Apparently he didn't like us calling, said he that he told us everything on the phone. We tried to explain we didn't talk to him on the phone. He argued with us. He did try to make conversation finally by sayin he remembers dropping us off before. My husband tried to tell him he didn't and driver said yes I remember the name, as if we were seeing him again and we were mistaken. We let it drop but I can tell you if he had indeed picked us up prior we wouldn't have been using Luxor again. This driver was rude and likes to be right even in when he is so far from it. This is my first trip to NYC and have heard so many horror storys about Taxis so we decided to book a private car. We were picked up at LGA airport. The driver, Neil, arrived early and tracked our flight. He called to help direct us to his vehicle. Luxor Limo provided an amazing car, but even better, an amazing driver. We cannot say too many nice things about Neil and even tried to book him for our return trip to LGA. He answered all of our touristy questions and navigated traffic like a pro. We highly recommend thia service, and if you get Neil its just a plus. read more

The terrible customer service starts at the top, as is typically the case when the problem is systemic and unlikely to change unfortunately. Pick up was 15 min+ late and no one called to inform me. We were catching an international flight and because of the delay and subsequent traffic which had built up more, we narrowly made the flight as a result. the co-founder of the company repeatedly and aggressively argued regarding the fine print in the company's terms and conditions and used it to not honor the policy and to offer a marginal discount instead. He never apologized nor offered to explain or compensate for the fact that his organization - an allegedly professional car service - did not call to inform me of the delay. I have never had this experience in NYC or elsewhere with Carey, Empire, Blue Line, Royal Coachman, GroundLink, Uber, Dial 7, etc. I would book any of those services which vary by price, several of which are cheaper, than with Luxor. A yellow taxi is better than Luxor. There are so many reasonable options in the competitive NYC car service market - life is just too short to waste on Luxor. read more

Booked them twice, once from Newark to the Meatpacking District and once from JFK to the same location. Both trips in a new S-Class Benz. Both times the driver had to be located by the Luxor Limousine office. The 2nd trip was a pure joke! Twice the driver almost hit a car in front, because he had started to unpack and eat his lunch whilst driving. Apart from listening to a strange educational audiobook during the trip he also had the most annoying cough which together with the lunch food smell made for a very uncomfortable ride. Definitely not the most professional service ever, but it works. Some different cars showed up than we originally planned, and I didn't get a call when they arrived. Also, for some of the reservations I made, the drivers weren't even exclusively with Luxor - they were Uber drivers/with another company picking up the work. We would definitely NOT recommend this company. We hired the limo as a surprise for our 3 children for our trip. While we were greeted on time, the limo's air conditioning was not functioning properly on a very hot day. Our ride was about an hour and a half for our family of 5 in the sweltering heat. We called the company during the ride to report the issue and they said the manager would call us back the next day. No one ever called. When we called back they claimed they did not find any issues with the A/C and proceeded to argue with us rather than apologies or even attempt to make things right. Poor ride and poor customer service. Certainly not what you would expect hiring a limousine! Steer clear of this company. read more

I called to reserve a car for all day, the woman on the phone was extreme rude and had a quick nasty attitude. I don't know how you can treat a potential customer with that type of attitude, who would be giving you well over a grand and would potentially be recommending your company to someone else. Maybe you should be more careful on how you treat your customers. You never know who has a yelp account. read more
