@luxury_diner Founded in 1926, the old train cart has much quaint style. I sat under a pink neon sign of "Luxury Diner* and it cast a pink hue in the room. I arrived when it opened at 6am. It was dark outside. I ordered a grilled breakfast sandwich with bacon and a half order of biscuits and gravy. I was advised by the waitress that it was a heap O mess O food. She said the portions were large. Whoa. So I ordered a half order of biscuits and gravy with a side of bacon. Coffee was good. H2o was good. A steady stream of locals kept arriving. Cheyenne is a smallish town compared to Denver. The people are friendly. The potatoes were super good, flavored awesomely with onions and green peppers. There were huge chunks of potato. The biscuits and gravy were unfortunately not very good. The biscuits tasted very doughy. The gravy was almost tasteless and very thick. I had to pepper it up. The bacon was 4 slices of crisp bacony goodness. Overall a great experience. I would return to try something else. Check it out. You'll be glad you did. read more

So we're up from Denver on a little getaway during Spring break. My kid just wanted a good grilled cheese and this is what the internet advised. We both ordered gc, him with fries on the side and I opted for onion rings. The onion rings with a side of ranch were good, but greasy. He said his fries were ok. The sandwiches looked good but the cheese wasn't melted so after choking down the first halves, we both chose to bring the other halves back to our hotel to freshen in a skillet in our mini kitchenette. The server was super nice and friendly. Two stars because in addition to the food not really being right (how hard is it to make a grilled cheese??), the place was absolutely disgustingly filthy. The plate my food came on still had residue from someone else's meal. The ketchup bottle was disgusting. The menu was filthy and sticky and needed a going-over with some Clorox spray. They closed a half-hour early too, locking the door at 130 pm instead of 2pm. read more

Came here during a road trip with my friend from Los Angeles. I have to say, it was cute! I was kind of culture shocked into how much nothing there was outside the big cities. There weren't too many people when we walked in. Got a lot of stares, curious looks, but also friendly smiles. (Understandable) but the waitress that helped us was friendly and non-judgmental. I was so happy when I opened that menu and saw the prices! Everything was at least $5 cheaper than it would be in CA. I ordered an omelette and my friend ordered the biscuit plate. I got some OJ as well. I was happy with my meal:) I also left a slightly bigger tip here. These states pay less than minimum wage right? I was told a lot of states pay under minimum wage and the waitresses have to make up for it in tips. Not sure if it's true here, but just in case, left some extra bills on the table. read more

While checking out Cheyenne for the day, two people recommended this place as the best local food in town so I thought I would check it out. It's off the main downtown strip (they have plenty of parking) in a little building next to some of the classic looking motels. When I first walked in, we were warmly greeted and were seated after about a 5 minute wait. (They were really busy for a Tuesday morning!) The place itself is a typical diner where you can sit at the counter, see the kitchen, or sit in some of the booths they have. Our waitress was great but I do admit, it took quite a while to get our food. (I would say about 25 minutes) and no one came by to tell us how the progress was going. I ordered the vegetable omelet and my mom just had two eggs with potatoes. The potatoes they have are really good as they cook them with onions and peppers (a bit more unique than typical home fries.) The one thing that neither my mom or I were a fan of though, were they cool all of their things in bacon grease. We both personally can't stand the taste of bacon (I know-I'm the one guy who hates bacon) but since we were in a rush to get back to Boulder, we went ahead and ate it. If it wasn't for that, it would have been pretty good and they probably would have fixed it if we would have asked I'm sure-so that one is on us. Just wanted whoever reads this to be aware of they order the eggs for breakfast. You get a lot of food for your money too. An omelet, biscuit, and potatoes is only about $8. If you're in town and want some local food I would stop by here for sure. read more

We were asked to sit and wait for 5 minutes because they were running behind. We waited for 20 minutes with no other acknowledgment before we were finally seated. When we arrived the restaurant was not that busy. There were 7 empty/clean tables. Why we weren't seated and given menus, I do no understand. After waiting for 15 minutes I finally got myself a menu so we would at least be ready to order when we finally were seated. While we were waiting,. They locked the front door and put the closed sign up. After 25 minutes, we were finally seated and given the information that she hoped we didn't want biscuits and gravy cause they were out. Turns out they were out of luxury potatoes and even iced teas. After all the great reviews we couldn't believe we were having such a terrible experience all totaled we were there for over an hour. We ended up ordering just bacon and eggs because we were afraid to order anything more complicated. Big disappointment! read more

Simply put, stay away from Luxury Diner in Cheyenne. Service was horrible - 30 minutes to take our breakfast order and another 25 minutes to serve. Eggs were delivered "hard" when ordered "medium", hash browns were cold, ordered sausage and they brought bacon, and dry toast came buttered. Total cluster so I sadly paid and left. read more

This cute little diner did not disappoint and felt authentically Wyoming. We were there for breakfast & the Menu choices included a wide selection of traditional fare. My husband had the Caboose which was chicken fried steak with sausage gravy, 2 eggs and potatoes. Their "Luxury potatoes" were good - cubed potatoes fried with green pepper & onion. I had the American breakfast with a pancake that was slightly crispy and delicious. We also tried their green chili which was on the tangy side. Over all everything was a little on the salty side. We made it into the diner on our last day of our Eclipse adventure. The owner and staff were still smiling, AUTHENTIC and friendly, even after dealing with some squawking, hangry tourists who left in a tizzy. (Wyoming doubled its population over the past few days!) The food was FRESH and truly delicious. (They serve local, hormone-free meats.) Service was ON POINT. The decor was as charming as it gets. The diner is located in this neighborhood of cool, old motels, so if you like old neon signs drive through in the evening. It's gorgeous. We WILL be back. Had we known that everyone was waiting for their food we would have went somewhere else. They had great food and were apologetic but it would have been nice when they seated us to explain that it would be awhile for our food. We mentioned our missing items to our server when our food was served (30 minutes after we ordered it) and was assured they were on their way. We didn't see our server again for another half hour. The Luxury Diner is a little gem about 10 minutes off the highway. The service and food were excellent, it's very clean also. The portions are amazing and everything was piping hot when it arrived.
