I did not want to stay at the Hotel and catch their breakfast so I ventured into the city and decided to give this place a try. This place had a small capacity (68) but we were able to slide right in. The food was amazing and the wait staff was super friendly! My son loved the added bonus of eating in the Caboose dining area. Not a good experience here. Went for breakfast (we love going to small-town diners and were looking for a new favorite after moving to Cheyenne), and it must have been busy because they put us in the overflow seating. Literally back to back with the other tables, we had to sit cramped up to the table with chairs rubbing other customer chairs behind us. Made the mistake of bringing young children which just exacerbated the issue. If the food had been better we'd have been back to try it again, but it was a disappointment all around. Cheap food, bad service, and worse atmosphere (in the overflow room). Gave it an extra star based on the idea that the main room might be better. Update - the owner responded via Yelp and asked us to try it again. Their desires for what kind of customer experience they wanted to provide seemed spot on. We did give it another try, and sat in their main seating area (rather than the overflow plastic table/chairs area as before). Still extremely tight seating. Sat in chairs but it might as well have been a bench because the person on the end had to get up if anyone else had any chance of getting up. As for the food, it was fine, but few items in the menu even looked appetizing, we ended up customizing our own order completely. Two strikes for this one, it's just not going to work for us. I know several folks in the area that go here exclusively when they go out to breakfast. More power to them, they won't have to wait on my table. read more

I will never go back. I ordered an omelette, biscuits and gravy, and corned beef hash. My first bite of hash was tough like gristle. Unfortunately all of the hash was full of big chunks of gristle-like corned beef mixed with what seemed like mashed potatoes. Canned corned beef hash would have been better. They even re-cooked it for me and it was even worse. The biscuits tasted burnt and the sausage gravy was flavorless. The eggs of the omelette were overcooked (this is coming from someone who likes her eggs dead). My waitress did not offer to take anything off the bill after I politely complained. This place does not deserve the 4 stars it has. read more

This was close to our hotel and had fairly good reviews so we thought we'd give it a shot. Its on the backside of a weekly rental motel. The servers were very nice, wore masks, and were good about cleaning things between people. The table we were seated at had very worn chairs with big tears. The menu has a nice variety of diner staples. Coffee was good but the half and half creamers were old and separated in the cup. They messed up my order so I had to wait after my husband's food came. His omelet was not even warm. Mine was super greasy and just ok. Maybe they were having an off day, but I wish we had gone somewhere else. read more

Recently moved to Northern Colorado and decided to go for a drive to Cheyenne with my mom. We wanted to try a local spot and I found this place on Yelp. The staff helped us rather quickly. Our waitress was awesome. Very friendly and attentive. The food was really good. Had the bacon cheeseburger and my mom had the chili cheese fries. We also had the onion rings as an appetizer. My burger was well cooked, flavorful, and the bacon was cooked exactly the way I like it. I plan on going back to try the huge cinnamon rolls! read more

It's okay for a greasy spoon, but pretty average. I've been to the Luxury Diner many times over the years, and have never been that impressed. It's the standard breakfast fare. One thing to keep in mind: The transients and homeless druggies often hover around the area, so make sure to keep your vehicle locked up and wallets secure. Cozy little diner with great food! This is my breakfast spot but I have had other meals here that were great! My go to is the corned beef Hash and eggs. The corned beef hash is housemade and delicious. Service is always friendly and fast! This restaurant is small so you may be offered to share a large table on a busy morning. They have awesome cinnamon rolls too! Potato pancakes were one of the specials recently and they were awesome! They should add them to the menu. read more

This was a great spot for late lunch. I had the caboose (chicken fried steak) and it was really good. The biscuit is my recommendation for your bread. It was large and flavourful and perfect. The gravy on the steak was probably among the best sausage gravy I've ever had. I found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. It was just like a family atmosphere. I can see how it might be too cramped during busy times, but I've been at much more "hip" places that are at least as cramped inside. Just get friendly and it will be fine :) read more

This diner is so cute and the staff is so friendly. They have cinnamon rolls the size of your head! I highly recommend the steak omelette. The Poblano hollandaise is out of this world. I can't do 5 stars because they were out of sourdough bread and charged me to sub grits because the only bread I like is sourdough and I just think it would have been a nice thing to do to sub it at no cost but that's okay our server was very nice and very attentive anyways. The Skinny: The food was good, but service and cleanliness were issues. My gut tells me they were having an off day, and I'd be willing to give them a second chance to earn 3-4 stars because of the food. Full Review: Customers can seat themselves and so it may be our fault partially for choosing the worst table in the diner, but a table should not at all be wedged in the back corner of the restaurant so close to both the server stations AND the only restroom that only two seats can be used at the table and occupants make eye contact with every person coming in and out of the toilet while the server has to lean over a chair to put orders into the computer. LD may lose a bit of seating, but that small portion of square footage should not be occupied by a table, the server station, and the restroom. At one point within 6 feet of one another were myself and Hunny seated, the server stretching to put in an order, and a customer waiting for the restroom while another occupied it. LD: please spare future diners this experience, even if you lose a bit of seating capacity. Your customers and staff will thank you. I ordered a water and a coffee to go for drinks. Each cup had debris in it. They need to clean their ice machine, and I'm not sure what was in the coffee but it was not grounds (although there were, in addition, grounds at the bottom of the cup). The to-go coffee cup actually seemed to be meant for a soft drink, not a coffee, which was partially the cause of the coffee spilling on our drive west, though they were generous to fill up a 20oz cup for the low, low price of $2. I must agree with another reviewer who lamented the somewhat sketchy location of LD. I was slightly uncomfortable leaving our vehicle full of stuff out of my sightline, as the diner is located basically on the same property of what appears to be pretty low-income housing/a modified motel with some residents wandering around giving the stink eye. The food was tasty, decently-priced, and well-portioned all things considered. I inhaled the burger, and the beef is locally-sourced according to the waitress. It was quite good. Indoor and outdoor decor were charming, the restaurant was clean, and the staff was friendly all things considered. Tomato was not brought with our burgers, despite the menu stating that lettuce, tomato, and red onion come with burgers. (If I'm mistaken about the menu, these three staples are at least assumed in most burger joints.) The waitress offered no explanation or consolation about this. The lettuce was brown and not the best quality. I ate it without complaint, but it was on its last leg. The burger came fully-assembled, meaning I had to pry it open to put on the lettuce, onion, and condiments. This is typically not the practice at burger joints, as it created a mess and could cause the buns to fall apart. Service was scattered. Two different servers and the hostess came to our table at points. We waited too long to be greeted, and too long between our final waitress's first and second visits to the table. She did recognize and apologize for this. Ultimately it was approximately 60 minutes from the time we walked in to the time we walked out for a meal for 2, and we seemed to come in just as the lunch crowd was clearing up. Had we not desired to rest a while because of our road trip, the timeframe would have been a problem. Food and drinks for 2 + tip totaled ~$25. read more
