THE BEST NAIL SALON in the High Desert!!! I've been to every nail salon in Yucca Valley and this is THE BEST ! Yes, they are appointment only, but who wants to wait anyways? It is a husband and wife team and they run the shop well. I've never had to wait (I have an appointment after all) and my gel manicure lasts almost 4 weeks!! Unheard of!! I've never had a manicure last that long. They know my color : DND 430 Ferrari Red when I walk in the door...and I'm walking out 40 minutes later!! I'll never go anywhere else! read more

Michael & Nancy (husband & wife team) are so sweet & they both do a great job? I am really happy with my gel manicure & spa pedicure! Hands down the worst pedicure I've ever had. Paid for their "luxury spa pedicure" There was nothing luxurious about this whatsoever. The massage with hot stone maybe lasted 25 seconds at best per leg Maybe 25 seconds per foot. The callus removal was marginal at best.. used some little plastic scrubby thing. One coat nail polish, no top coat. Paint job was sloppy. A guy had to come redo it. He asked me to point out the problem with nail polish (which was all over my cuticles on most toes) and I accidentally touched my big toe and then he started screaming at me accusing me of doing it on purpose. He removed all the polish while yelling very aggressively at me. I had enough of it so I pulled out the rubber toe seperator.I told him he was not allowed to yell at customers. He accused me of wanting to leave without paying. It was unreal. I gave him my credit card and instructed him not to charge me the full amount because now my toes are unpainted. I had to literally video him yelling at me and I threatened to call the cops because he was holding my card and I was unsure of what he was going to attempt to charge onto my card while he is screaming accusing me of having no money. This was the most insane experience I've ever had at a business. I have it all on video. Never again! read more

This is a small business owned by the nicest couple. They travel from pretty far to get here and still accommodate people close to closing. They remembered me when I came in and were very sweet. The shop itself is small and nothing extravagant, but they make up for it in their kindness and the effort they put into their work. Worst experience I've ever had at a nail salon. First they trimmed one of the sides of my nails too short and I asked to make it even. Then she cuts the same side again before I could say stop. At this point no going back. I let it go. After she finished my gel manicure the edges of the color were completely uneven. Obviously the lady was not in the mood to do my nails. After I told her the edges were uneven some were more bold then others. I didn't not want her touching my feet who knows how bad she would leave them. Then this young man at the counter jumps up and immediately what do you mean you don't like it. I mentioned I don't like complaining but this is way to many mistakes. Another employee jumped up from helping another customer and started saying what do you want me to do you can't have a perfect manicure. I felt completely attacked and humiliated Infront of the other customers. The other customer looked at me in disbelief the way they were acting about the situation. I will never set foot in this location, and after I told them this the young man replied "I never want to see your face in here again, we don't need your business we have been here 10 years" this has been the worst most stressful nail salon experience. read more

The staff was friendly and the place is nice enough but these guys have no idea how to do a gel polish. My regular pedi was just fine but both my sister and I got gel polish and they are both the worst we've ever seen for different reasons. On mine they let the polish touch the cuticles so the edges are all raised and will quickly lift this week. Hers was done one nail at a time. Paint one nail, whole hand in the light, paint another nail, etc. and the edges of the color was so far away from the edges of the nail it made it look like the paint was a week old and grown out. This place may not be a boujee as the others in town but trust me, they do the best work in Yucca Valley. My gel nails always last 2+ weeks, the owners are friendly and they do amazing eyebrow waxes. It's clean! Pedicures are great too!! I highly recommend this salon! Their prices are also very fair! I've tried just about every nail salon in Yucca Valley, and this is my favorite. I came here a couple weeks ago, along with 2 friends to get our nails done for a wedding the next day. The manager was abrupt and irritated that we all didn't want pedicures as well (we had called ahead to book 3 sets of nails, 1 pedicure). I asked for "short pointed nails, rounded tips. Not sharp, please". The male tech/Manager acted put out by this request and was rough with my nails the entire time as a result. I had to ask him twice more to smooth the nail tips down as he had made them SHARP points, Which I had been clear about not wanting. The nails came out uneven and lifting. The polish was poorly done, not covering the entire nail on most of my nails. My friend's nails were problematic as well. The tools and stations did not look clean. Pay a little more and go elsewhere. read more

I am all about family business and nice people who have lived in Hawaii which they fall into that category. I have now found my regular nail spot, and will suggest then to everyone. Never ever stepping foot into this salon ever again. From the rude gentleman manager to the shotty work, this place was a disaster from the beginning. I made an appointment and every time someone else walked in, they would stop working on me to go work on the other person. They were trying to be efficient but I ended up sitting there twice waiting for my nails to be finished (not drying coats or soaking). I asked a simple question and the guy got so defensive and started yelling at me as if I was accusing him of something. Wow! I have never been treated so poorly at a nail salon in my life. Getting your nails done should never be a stressful experience. What should have been a 45 minute nail job, ended up being an hour and a half. But hey, their prices are great! read more

I don't get pedicures often, maybe once a year. I usually do DIY but don't paint them because my eyesight isn't good enough to do a good job. A month ago I went to a salon in San Bernardino (where my parents go) to get a pedicure before a wedding. They did a beautiful job which made me want to get another pedicure before a concert this weekend. I didn't want to drive the 1 1/2 hours to San Bernardino but was afraid to go to a salon out here. I had gotten a terrible case of athlete's foot after having a pedicure at the salon by the old Stater Brothers several years ago. Luxury Nails seems newer and nicer so I decided to give them a try. The guy that did my pedicure was very nice and attentive. He offered cold water. I accepted the up sell and got all the fancy leg massage stuff. I don't know why I did it. I hate the leg massage part. I just want cute painted toenails! I guess I wanted to be sure of a really nice result. The massage products smelled great but my toes looked terrible. Very uneven shaping. Unpainted areas on the edge of toes. No offer of a design, which I did want. No big toe callous removal AT ALL. He did start to use one of the blocks on the bottoms of my feet, but I'm too ticklish and couldn't handle the way he was doing it so he just quit completely. The pedicurist in San Bernardino had a Dremel-type tool for the big toe callous. This salon did not use anything like that. One coat only of polish and no top coat was applied. Why, you ask, didn't I question any of this? I'm pretty introverted and the place had a strange vibe. I kind of wanted to get out of there. It was empty except for one other client. The woman working on that client wasn't speaking to her at all and kept stopping her work to watch the TV, answer the phone or wander off to the back of the salon. She looked bored. It was just strange. I would give my pedicurist four stars for customer service but 2 stars for a not so good pedicure. read more

Friendly staff that does their best to accommodate you. They don't have a lot of people working (3 is the most I've seen) so there are wait times as they try to juggle everyone at once. Overall they do a good job at a reasonable price. They have become my go to place in the desert. read more

Recently my sister and I came to have some sister time and as a birthday gift for her. The staff was kind in the beginning and everyone was getting along and having good day. When my sister was done getting a pedicure and the wife began doing my sisters gel manicure, we noticed the nail polish was turning out streaky and no one likes streaky nails. My sister kindly pointed out that it was turning out streaky and the wife rudely commented that she wasn't done. We let her continue layering the nail polish but nothing changed it continued to turn out streaky. My sister kindly commented that she still doesn't like how the nails were turning out streaky and instantly the wife got upset. My sister also commented that when the wife applied the glitter on her ring finger, you couldn't see the streaky nail polish, so she kindly asked if she could just apply glitter on top of all of her nails. The wife got more upset and questioned my sister rudely "what do you want?" As if my sister didn't know what she wanted . There son came over and I tried to explain to him the difference between streaky and an evenly coated nail polish. Even the son didn't understand the difference. Then the husband came and got defensive and tried to explain that choosing a light color will cause the result of an uneven coat. My sister still calmly and kindly commented that even she has had light nail polish on her and not once did it ever turn out streaky. All three continued to make the same comment over and over again and the husband raised his voice louder and louder. Keep in mind there were costumers around and they were making a dramatic scene in front of everyone, technically embarrassing themselves. My sister kindly just asked to apply the glitter on all the nails to remove the look of streaky nails. The wife did so rudely and continued to have an attitude. My sister asked her why does she have an attitude and remained quite after. She finished applying the glitter and left my sister to dry her nails under the UV light and than she left to attend another customer than came back to file her nail and rudely said "your done". Luckily I paid before she was done so we could get out of their as soon as possible and luckily I didn't tip them at all for such rude service. Keep in mind we're the customers and we pay to those that do a great job and treat your customers with some respect and if we don't like your service we expect you to fix that and complete your service because everytime my mother would get gel manicure from the same wife she massages your hands with lotion and she didn't even do that to my sister, she completely skipped that and was fed up. Sadly I won't be supporting a business that mistreats their clients even with the something so minor that doesn't need to be a scene in front of the rest of the clients. Sure, the prices are good, but you get what you pay for! The woman that did my pedi barely spoke at all & didn't do exactly as I asked. The guy (Tim, I think) that did my nails is VERY BOSSY & I felt like he was rushing me! He did a shitty job on my nails... Within two days, the corners on 3 of my nails were broken! I accidentally smudged one if my toes while I was there & he fixed it, but not without an attitude. I will NEVER go back there! I'd rather pay more elsewhere for better quality service! P.S. I went to Queen Nails the time before here & my nails lasted from before Thanksgiving until after Christmas! And they are MUCH more friendly there! read more

I made an appt for 3 mani and pedi's at 3:30 pm on a Wednesday. We were 15 minutes late and they only had 3 people staffed. The staff rotated around, since they had about 8 customers in at one time. Very under staffed and the manicurist told me it was MY fault they were understaffed because we were late. We were there for about 2:30 hrs and they did and extremely sloppy paint job. They also told me the gel manicure polish and regular pedicure polish was sold as the se color. It clearly was two different shades. See pictures. Will never go back. I went in to get a gel manicure and while the lady was trimming and filing my nails I was trying to decide on a color (not many pretty colors). After I finally decided on a color that I liked, the younger man came and painted 2 of my nails when I told him that I didnt like the color. So I chose 2 different colors and didnt like the way they looked either. I then asked if I could just get clear , but thought to myself im not going to pay for just clear nail polish, so I told him that I would just get a nude color and thats when he said "Ok, dont come back after this." I absolutely love coming here. They always do an amazing job. I started coming here about 2 months ago and have no complaints. My nails always come out looking flawless because he takes his time doing them. I had black tip acrylic before and now I have gel color over. The gel holds up better than any gel manicure I've ever had before and I've been doing gel manicure for years. I recommend making an appointment the day before though, because they don't always have time for walk-in customers. read more

Went in early yesterday to just get a manicure but the young gal talked me into a mani/pedi. The water was very hot for my feet and I told her to cool it down and she finally did that. She should have tried it with own hands first, really. When she was buffing my feet, it was too rough and fast, not so gentle and meticulous. The older gal cut my nails pretty short and the cuticles were not pushed way back and trimmed. The little bowl with the marbles when you soak your hand was precariously balanced on the arms of the massage chair, at any one minute it could of flipped, they needed little tables for this. I got the feeling they were rushing when other customers came in. They were nice enough but I won't be going back. read more

My family and me get our nails done every two weeks. Our usual nail place has just lost their best manicurists so we have to find a different establishment. We saw a few very good reviews about Luxury nails and I have been there before once, it was alright nothing super impressive but I wanted to give them another chance. While we called to make an appointment and he was not accommodating with our schedule telling us when he wants us to come in when it conflicted with our work schedule. Now he asked if we were regular costumers and she told him no we would be new and he started griping about he only does regular costumers. Absolutely ridiculous! Let me start with saying I have been having my nails done for close to 17 yrs. and I seldom ever complain about anything. The previous reviews must have been under a different owner. There was a sign Under New Ownership. I went in for a gel nail color change at the suggestion of a friend when I couldn't get into my regular nail salon because I decided to do it last minute. Early on, I suspected she didn't really know what she was doing with the removal of the color. First, she made 4 of my cuticles bleed when she cut them rather than pushing them back, and was so rough with the removal of the polish with a file that 5 of my fingers are now swollen and raw above the cuticles the next day (I had told her a few times she was too rough with the file and hitting the skin) my nails weren't shaped evenly nor uniform in length and there was polish all over the side of my fingers and the front of 2 of my fingers. When I said something about polish all over my skin and that the color on the tips were so thick they didn't look right , she told me to wait a day for the polish to set and then use acetone to remove the extra polish from my skin. When I mentioned they weren't uniform in shape and the polish wasn't even, a gentleman stepped in (I assume he was the owner?) and even though I'm not sure what he said to the lady who had just done the color change (he didn't speak to her in English) it was clear from the tone he wasn't happy with the appearance either. He had a younger lady stepped in to remove everything and start over. At this point I had been there an 1 1/2 hours because it took 30 minutes for the previous application to be soaked off the tips of my nails because the polish on the tips were so thick. The younger lady did a good job reshaping and making them uniform, but now my nails were much shorter then I went in but color application is better. She was much gentler removing the previous color and apologetic and put lotion on my hands and arms and lightly massaged them when she was done. She was was very nice, but at this point I am so angry that I am now much later than I had planned on (I was planning for my boyfriends return from a business trip that day after being gone for 3 mths.) At this point, I had been there 2 1/2 hrs for a simple color change ( my normal salon takes 30 minutes and they are always beautiful.) As I am getting ready to leave, the gentleman states "I usually charge $20 but I will only charge you $15." I didn't say it, but my thought was hmmm, 2 1/2 hours to do a color change, my fingers are bleeding and and filed raw, and he never once apologized. Needless to say, I will never step foot in there again! read more

You know that feeling when someone doesn't care about the job they do? That was how the man I dealt with was, so I already had a bad feeling choosing to get my nails done here. He was unprofessionally rude to the point where, after my nails were filed and cut, I said nevermind and left, knowing I would be paying for a service I was not happy with. We miscommunicated and he thought I wanted just a manicure and not fake nails, so when I told him while he was cutting them (it wasn't like he was far in the process) instead of conceding with the customer's request and moving on, he pointed the finger with "but you said...!" He kept trying to argue with me about the matter. I work as a server, and rule of service: you don't do that! I get irritated or miscommunicate with customers all the time, but I don't voice my irritation, I maintain professionalism because I care about being a good server and keeping business! This is probably why the nail salon was practically empty. I even offered him a tip for his time which threw his panties further into a bunch and he started saying things out loud in his language while I was waiting for my mom to get finished. If you want your nails done by someone who appreciates your patronage and cares about their quality of work, I would advise going somewhere else. read more

I hate giving bad reviews but I feel obligated when it comes to this place. I had an appointment for a gel mani and a pedicure. I was there for 2.5 hours and I wouldn't even call my manicure a manicure, it was rushed and I was filed and soaked in the pedicure chair 40 mins after my pedicure was done. It has been 3 days and my gel is already peeling and flaking off ( two of my fingers were not even fully polished, the tips of my nails had no polish on them)! On top of that the man who gave me my pedi, who was very nice, cut my toenails down to nothing. They are all crooked and are almost painful because they are so short. I protested during my pedicure when he was cutting my toes but he seemed not to want to listen. By the time my manicure started I just wanted to get the heck out of there. Never again. read more
