I recently visited this salon for a basic pedicure and had a disappointing experience. The price listed on the wall for a pedicure was $39; however, I was quoted $55. When I asked for clarification, I was told there was a $5 charge to remove gel polish, which still did not account for the full price difference. No additional services were requested or provided, so the final quoted amount was confusing and not clearly explained. In addition, I noticed that a liner was not used in the pedicure tub. When I asked whether the tub would be properly sanitized, the response I received felt dismissive and somewhat unprofessional, which made me uncomfortable. Clear communication, transparency in pricing, and proper sanitation practices are extremely important in this type of service. Unfortunately, this experience did not meet those expectations. I hope the salon can improve in these areas for future customers. First time there. Had the same experience as others. Pedicure price on list was $37. Higher than I normally pay but I needed one. After we finished, I was told I owed $47. Mind you this is a basic pedicure, no polish, no bells or whistles but with a buff instead of polish. $10 for the buff . If I was told that when I asked for it, I would have skipped it. So $$55 total with tip. Told her I understood why they weren't busy and that I wouldn't be back. They should be more transparent with their pricing. read more

I had a pedicure which was very basic. $37! I tried this place because it's close by. My usual place in Cathedral City charges $50 but it's an hour long deluxe pedi with hot stones and paraffin dip. I won't go back. When I sat down, Ben went to work grinding on my fingernails, grinding, grinding! He then wraps my fingers with nail polish remover and foil, then puts plastic gloves on my hands. I then went to get my pedicure. I was very shocked that they did not put a liner in the peti bowl.. yewww that's gross. I got my nails done for the first time at Modern today, and I'm a fan. I'd give them five stars but they only take cash, which is dirty and inconvenient; I like touchless commerce, especially in pandemic times. Aside from that, I loved that I called at the last minute and they were able to squeeze me in for an appointment, that they were clean and covid-clean, and that my manicure was done with a perfect mix of care and speediness. I tried this place years ago on a busy day, they weren't able to get me in so I left upset and didn't come back. Let me tell you IT WAS MY LOSS!!! I'm very particular about my nails, I wear them short so there is no room for error. Without much input from me my nails were shaped perfectly for my hands and nail beds and painted to perfection. Went yesterday to get my nails done. I was very happy I read the Yelp reviews before I went. This is a fantastic nail salon, very professional and covid compliant. They only let a certain number of people in at a time, they make your wash your hands and use sanitizer as soon as you walk in the door. They require you to bring your own nail filer and buffer (once you become a returning client) however for first time clients they provide you with one at a dollar charge I believe. My GEL manicure came out to $33 and they soaked off the gel I previously had on. Both workers are great, got my cuticles, shaped my nail very well, and applied polish great. Not the best looking nail salon but the service is what matters and I have been to "top notch" looking nail salons that are overpriced with terrible nail technicians. Great place who has skilled nail techs (for gel mani's at least) I really like how they do my gel manicures however the ONLY thing I would want to see is better/ more gel color options. read more

They've been here for years! I feel more comfortable with them doing my nails, every other place leaves my nails hurt so bad, along with cuts. I can appreciate that they give you FRESH nail file and buffers for $1, and ask that you return with it, even recommending just leaving it in your glove box. The sanitary peace of mind will keep me coming back. They were about to close and still took two pedicures and a mani. They were so kind enough to keep open for us and didn't hurry either. They took there time to do an excellent job. Love this new location! Super friendly staff, beautiful atmosphere, and lots of nail polish colors! Pricing is very reasonable. I got a fill, pedicure, with callus remover and spent around $70 including tip. The staff went above me beyond me make sure I was comfortable as well! This is my go to nail salon! I used to live in the valley, but I have recently relocated to Orange County. However, I do not go anywhere else! I usually try to make an appointment when I plan to visit family in the area! They are always super busy, so make sure to call ahead. The couple that works there are really nice and polite. They try to accommodate both walk-ins and appointments. Sometimes they run behind schedule, which can be a little frustrating. But it's what you can expect for a high demand nail shop that can only service 4 people at a time! It's amazing how popular they are, yet they are smaller than most nail salons I've been to! I have very sensitive feet, and ingrown toenails. They are very gentle with my feet. I have never been cut or nicked or felt any form of pain here, besides when they pulling out my really bad ingrown nails (it's a curse I tell you!). I especially like talking to Van; she has a sarcastic humor, and is a proud mama. Their manicures are great, too. Either Henry or Van will do. The massages are sooo worth waiting for! Some of their nail polishes sit there for awhile not being used, so I do suggest bringing in your own color if you have a special color in mind. Otherwise, they are suitable to be used, nothing too insane. I haven't had the opportunity to try any of their other services, as I usually have limited time to investigate. Although many of the customers I have met while waiting for appointments swear by their eyebrow threading and gel manicure services. I have not had any other employees besides Henry and Van, and I hope the bad things people are saying about the other employees will stop you from coming here! Sometimes they are heavily impacted, especially on the weekends, and may have to cancel appointments, so I urge you to try to make appointments during the week or not during peak hours if you can!
