They would offer rides, snacks, and made the experience feel personal. Because of that, there was a lot of trust built. Unfortunately, someone very close to me recently discovered that multiple repairs done here were either poorly completed or failed far sooner than they should have. Spark plugs that were replaced last May (with only about 5,000 miles driven since) were already completely fried, despite typically lasting much longer. Wiring that was replaced just last month also needs to be redone because it's damaged. On top of that, another mechanic showed that the welding work done on the muffler/exhaust was poorly done and may have contributed to further damage, including the catalytic converter needing replacement. I strongly encourage anyone getting major repairs here to seek a second opinion.

Grismer mechanics came back and told me I need rear brakes, brake fluid flush, front brakes, rear bearing, front tie rod, and a new set of tires. I was so stressed and overwhelmed I decided to sell my car before putting $3k into a car with over 180k miles. I told them only do the rear brakes. They decided to include the brake flush because they charged me $660 for the rear brakes. I then took my car for a second opinion and they said none or the things mentioned was dire. I do need tires but can wait a couple months, I need front brakes but can wait a couple months. Grismer told me my front brakes would be gone by the end of the weekend. They had me so scared to drive my car I bought another car to drive before I got my second opinion. Big mistake, but it was the path I was led down by misleading, money hungry mechanics. Terrible and shameful and Grismer should refund my money on the brake fluid flush I did not ask for, they suggested, and they did this work without my request, I said "rear brakes" and they included the flush. They told us that an auxiliary fan was broken, and "repaired it" for nearly $400. Less than an hour after their "repair", our car broke down in traffic and smoke started pouring from the hood without warning. We feared the worst. We called Mike for an estimate, and he came and looked over our Jeep the same day. He took excellent care of us, was honest, and explained his hypothesis of what was wrong with the car. HIs rates were fair and he was just overall wonderful to work with. 2 hours after he arrived to our complex (after having our car towed home), our jeep is up and running better than ever. And for very little compared to what Pep Boys tried to sell us. He even showed us that the "broken" fan, in fact worked, and gave us a year's guarantee on his labor.
