Tilton's has always treated me right. Today I took my BMW in because of a rear end vibration (I had just replaced the rear suspension) and I thought it was due to an unbalanced wheel. As it turns out I didn't torque down the wheel tight enough (I did it to specs) but Andy explained that the rust on the hub crushed down and loosened, thus creating the wobble. He tightened both wheels and sent me on my way free of charge. I've taken a few of my vehicles there and have gotten absolute five star service each time. Also if you're a Veteran you get a 10% discount to boot. It's a great shop and a credit to Worthington to have them there. read more

I wanted to be happy with the job that Tilton's performed but I cannot bring myself to it. Someone rear ended me and I wanted to take my car to Tilton's since it is in a convenient location for me. Communication was ok, and the car was done when they said it would be done. However the actual paint job they performed leaves a lot to be desired. They did not paint match the new bumper correctly, and the clear coat is completely opaque and bumpy. There is a very noticeable transition between the bumper and the rest of the car as shown below. They replaced my bumper with a non OEM part, which was the fault of the insurance company and not them, so maybe that is part of it. I also share some blame as I was in a hurry to catch a flight when picking up my car so I did not thoroughly inspect their work. Regardless, it is not a quality job and I would not recommend going there for body work. read more

I would give zero stars if I could. I chose Tilton's based on a recommendation, specifically because of a staff member named Brittany. Unfortunately, right before I brought my car in, Brittany had resigned -- I should have taken that as a red flag, but I decided to give them a chance anyway. I waited two and a half weeks for an appointment. On the day of drop-off, they assured me they would handle everything with my insurance. After a week and a half of silence, I was suddenly told they couldn't reach the claims department and that I needed to pick up my car. I contacted my insurance agent directly, and they had no issue reaching the claim department immediately. Then came another issue: Tilton's refuses to work with the standard labor rate my insurance covers. They charge $65/hour while my insurance covers $60/hour, meaning I would've had to pay the difference out of pocket -- something most reputable shops don't require. To make matters worse, my insurance agent informed me that Tilton's still hadn't ordered any parts, which would have meant another unnecessary delay. At that point, I pulled my car and took it to another shop. Within two days, the new shop had already started work and communicated efficiently with both me and my insurance. Tilton's cost me time, nearly cost me money, and demonstrated very poor communication and coordination. I strongly recommend avoiding them. read more

I asked them to diagnose an engine problem. I told them I expected it needed a new engine and wanted an estimate. They wanted to charge me for diagnostics. I agreed. They combed over my car and told me about several things that had nothing to do with my engine. They ran no diagnostic on the engine and gave no explanation of how they determined it needed a new engine besides what I said. They said they would charge over $10k for a replacement engine with a warranty. I had to take it elsewhere to get a replacement engine for half the price with a warranty. I asked them to consider lowing the diagnostic fee in my case since I told them it needed a new engine and they only diagnosed several unrelated issues. They said no. Impressive looking shop. Probably very professional. read more

My tires were delivered within 24 hours and they called to get me scheduled right away. I had to drop my car off for the day and they even offered me a ride home. We have used Tilton's since we moved to Worthington two years ago on the recommendation of locals. After our most recent experience, we will be loyal for life. I took my Honda Odyssey into Tilton's for what I thought was a minor fluid leak, but turned out to be a major engine problem. I cannot imagine an auto service provider being more honest, forthright, or helpful in such a situation. After the technician diagnosed the problem, Andy and the Tilton's staff spent hours of their day facilitating a transfer to the dealership so that we could take advantage of our extended warranty. A dishonest auto service could have easily preyed on my relative ignorance and made a bunch of money out of the deal. Tilton's, on the other hand, went above and beyond to ensure we maximized our warranty benefits, and even towed the car to the dealership for us (for a fee, but it was far less hassle than getting a third party involved). This major car problem came at a particularly stressful time, and it could have brought my family's life to a grinding halt. The integrity, character, and kindness that Andy, BC, and the whole Tilton's crew demonstrated was so far above and beyond their obligation that you can't even see the bare minimum from here. They saved us thousands of dollars (at their own expense, because it was the right thing to do), and they brought a degree of peace and ease into a process that was objectively quite stressful. Took the vehicle in for service. I told them that there was a headlight that needed replaced. I got my vehicle back and the headlight was still out. On a previous visit I took a vehicle in for an engine replacement. Three days after I got the vehicle back the replacement engine blew up. Tilton's cost of repairs are about 45% more expensive than average however the quality of the repairs and the attention to detail is poor. read more

This happened about 6-7 months ago, but i couldn't find my original review to update it,, so i have to write it again... Took my 1967 mercury cougar into tiltons to get a couple leaks fixed. They initially told me it would be done by the next Tuesday. Next Tuesday comes and I call them and they haven't even gotten to it yet. Okay no worries maybe I misheard them, nbd. It takes them 2 months to start looking at my car, another month to fix it. I had to call multiple times because I kept getting wrong information (I would be told we would get to it by the end of the week, the end of the week would come i would call the next week. And guess what they still hadn't even started) I even had to go in there to see wth was going on. Long story short I finally get a call about my car being done, I go there AND THE LEAKS WERE STILL THERE, so they had it for yet another week to "fix" them. I will say the main seal does not appear to be leaking, do does one that is located on top of the engine, however I still have 2 other leaks. Which I'm probably going to get another place to fix or just do it myself. When I finally get the car back, I notice a piece where my shifter is, is bent beyond bent. This piece was original to the car and hard to find. So they promise they will replace it, okay sounds good to me, what else can I do about it. Fast forward to this week, I still haven't heard anything about the part, so I call them. Turns out they can't find it (shocker), so instead of calling me idk 3 months ago telling me that they decided to hide it from me. I'm sure they are decent mechanics, and they seem to be nice enough people. But their communication skills are severely lacking. read more

Let's just say my experience left me with the realization I won't be going back again. I was not informed about the expensive diagnostic fee when calling beforehand inquiring about service when I had to get my vehicle towed to the shop for repair. After towing it to the shop and being given the quoted cost for repair, the diagnostic fee was not waived if the repair was accepted like most shops will do. Additionally, the hours calculated for the time needed for the repair was excessive and the cost of parts given in the quote amounted to a total cost three times higher than what one would expect to pay for the repair (distributor, coil, and control module on a common 5.7 chevy 350 V8). The technician was not able to accurately account for how the cost was calculated for the parts price given, nor was it detailed in the online quote provided. After a bit of research on the actual cost of quality components needed for the repair and taking time to review what would need to be done to perform the repair, it was obvious this shop was trying to take me for money. Not sure if this is how they treat all their customers, but I can say that if you choose to have service performed here, be wary of the amount they total for both parts and labor. read more

Tiltons performed some major suspension work on my Saab convertible. Basically returning it to near 'factory new condition'. Following their initial diagnostic work all of the updates were completed in a timely fashion . In addition Tiltons kept me apprised of the repairs as the project proceeded with both phone calls and text messages. In fact they also did two follow-up inquiries to check up on their repairs. I've experienced bad customer service with Tilton's Automotive. We have a 05 VW Jetta that needed a transmission overall. Tilton's were highly recommended to me by a neighbor. However, they have been terrible at returning calls and keeping the customer informed on the progress. My car is still in their shop after 7 weeks. They keep promising it will be done "by the end of this week". But they don't follow through with a phone call. I would not recommend them. read more

Honesty and Integrity are their specialties. My mother in law's car (Corolla) had been sitting idle in a garage for about a year. There was some evidence that mice had been in the trunk at least. At first, we took it to the dealer to evaluate for damage. We made the mistake of telling them about the mice and they tried to take advantage of us. The dealer told us that mice had essentially crippled all the engine wiring and damages would cost 5-10k. Or, they would be willing to buy the car off of us (at a fraction of its worth!) to sell at auction. Turns out, the car was fine. There was only a very minor wire covering damage from the mice, which Tiltons patched for us at no charge. We needed new tires and an air filter, but the car had not been mortally wounded. The dealer had LIED to us! What the dealer had told us would cost thousands to repair only cost us in the hundreds. I cannot tell you how much I appreciate the honest, professional service from Tiltons. We are going here from now on for all our automotive needs! read more
