I have passed LV Nail Shop a million times and never paid it any mind, probably because they are located in a ghetto strip next to a gas station. I don't normally roll like that yo... but on a Friday at 5PM, they were the only ones taking reservations to do a mani and pedi simultaneously for two people. They were also very polite and courteous over the phone, not to mention cheaper than their nearby competitors. The place is not swagged out. Do not expect some high class frou frou nail spa. They are bare basics here, but the workers are nice and the nail work is legit. I chose a peachy golden color for my shellac manicure and a standard french tip pedicure. I soon discovered that they had wine - box wine. Nothing wrong with a little box wine while gettin' yo nails did next to the Valero. Slowly but surely, as I consumed my first glass of wine, I began to make inappropriate comments and jokes. Luckily, the people here have a good sense of humor. Even the roach that was hanging out inside the box wine refrigerator was laughing... Yes... I later learned that there was a little roach friend inside the fridge... Like I said before, the place is no frills. To remove my previous shellac mani they soaked my fingertips in a bowl of acetone rather than wrapping my fingers with acetone soaked cotton. The gentleman working on my hands ended up removing the rest with a special drill-bit, explaining that it would be gentle and not damage my nails. The one fancy tool they do have is their OPI LED lamp. The lamp has motion sensors, and I have never had my Shellac dry faster. My french tip pedicure also came out looking lovely. My toes were finished while my mani was still drying. Despite their unfortunate location, I enjoyed the experience and my nails are looking sharp. I have had several compliments on my mani and pedi. Over a week and a half has passed and there isn't one dent on my nails. I gave this place a chance despite the reviews. Honestly I paid just as much from the other nail salon in Sugar Land and the quality wasn't anywhere near. I got my powder nails done on Thursday and by Saturday had three chipped nails. Went in on Tuesday since Monday was a holiday... by Thursday I got another chipped nail. They went and got that one fixed again (but not the matching color). Today is Saturday and I have my right index nail chipped. Sorry ladies but this is just not the place, unfortunately. read more

I went to this salon several years ago when I was in the area and they did a good job. I'm in town for business and decided to get my nails done. The place was empty with only one tech there. She said she was the owner. She put me in a chair that was unstable and the bowl had been caulked over. I decided to let that go since they use the plastic liners. I was on my phone but noticed as she was doing my toes that she did not use sterilized equipment. Then she went for the cheese grater...I told her no. Those things are so gross and they seriously mess up your feet. I decided no polish on my toes so I could shower off any germs. Next, she went for the fingernails and cut me and then made a comment that I have thin skin. um, no. She had poor eyesight or poor skills. She must have gotten it pretty deep because it started bleeding again before I got back to the hotel. I think this was the worst nail service that I have ever had and the first time in my life that I have not tipped for nail service. I immediately came back to our hotel and showered and scrubbed my hands and feet and hopefully that will keep me from getting a disease or fungus from this disgusting salon. read more

My friend and I called around to compare prices and LV nails had a good thing going at $25 shellac (compared to $40 at another nail salon that admittedly does great work). But LV was affordable and seemed to do a great job from the Yelp pictures so we came in. We were the only patrons so we were pampered 2:1. They even offer wine while you sit in the pedicure chair. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!! One woman working there at 1:00 p.m. on a weekday and man who works there sleeping in chair, no other customers, which was initially nice. Woman was borderline rude and barely spoke until a woman walked in and started behaving rudely herself, as she apparently didn't want to wait long. The woman working on my nails literally tried to get me to have the man who was sleeping finish my nails so she could start on belligerent woman waiting! Already had a bad experience with the man previously so wasn't about to make that mistake again. Won't be giving them my business ever again! LV Nail Shop is located in a gas station shopping center. I very very rarely get my nails done, but I sprang for a pedicure here based on the good reviews. The pedicurist barely spoke any English, but she did a good job with my nails. I don't think the deluxe upgrade for the pedicure was worth it, though - it included a wax treatment and a lotion massage, but afterwards my feet weren't uber-moisturized or anything. Next time I think I'd prefer to keep my $8 and just get the $18 basic pedicure rather than the $26 deluxe pedicure. I liked that the footbaths for the pedicures were lined with plastic. I wanted to get a manicure and pedicure for a destination wedding I was going to. I found LV nails nearby my eyebrow threading place. The rates are pretty reasonable. $18 for a pedicure and $25 for a shellac manicure. I waited for at least 20 minutes since the place was packed. Unlike other nail salons they are more spacious and don't smell as strong. The pedicure was pretty good getting in the normal foot scrubbing and massage. The technician I got didn't seem to pay as much attention to my feet compared to the girl next door but it's possibly because I had the basic. I got what I wanted anyway. The manicure was really good. The lady spoke English and she was very meticulous with cleaning them and making sure the coat was applied evenly. Overall I would come back to LV nails but suggest making an appointment to prevent waiting. read more

They are very efficient on their service and super friendly. I felt very comfortable here, as in they do not talk bad about you in their native language like most places do. They also do an excellent job on your nails for a reasonable price. I will definitely be coming back and I do recommend this place as I get my nails done every 2 weeks. Update: went back for a refill and I like them until I looked up close and noticed the side were cracked up and coming up from the nail bed. The bottom of my nails were filled but not the sides. I could not decide what to do as I couldn't come immediately. The nails kept snagging to clothes and hair. When I do come back a few days later. I figured they were not refillable and in order to help with time and removal costs, I began to remove them myself. I arrive and specifically ask for Lilly. Her husband is there and well I know I'm very particular so I don't know if I should let anyone else fix my nails. He insist he will fix them. He goes on to tell me regardless of wether I get a new full set or just an overlay it will cost me 20$. I am especially tight financially right now so I was pretty upset about that. He begins to cut my nails back and I ask him to please not cut them back that my ultimate goal is to grow them out so I don't have to wear nails. He suggest I do a tip and without cutting them back he says water will go in the back. I feel like he had an excuse for everything he was doing wrong. He then shaped them square after specifically showing him the shape round. I even kept a nail from my previous set so he could see exactly what Lilly did. He then continued to cut way to far on the sides of my nails, which takes away from my natural nail. I ask him not to take away from the sides and he continues to do so then when he sees I'm not happy about that he starts talking about how I have fat fingers (again an excuse) and that's why he did that! Wow, It's just all wrong. To just end this experience... I tell him, "it's ok, I just want to pay and go please." That's when he says "it's ok I've done them for free and now leave and don't come back!" Wow! Talk about a broken ego! It's too bad. I really wanted Lilly to do them, but if it means I have to see him again then forget about it. read more

Gave 5 stars before but giving one now after my most recent experience. My mom and I came to get our nails taken off. The male employee (didn't catch his name) was very agressive with my mom's nails to the point where she shreiked in pain. He seemed unbothered of my mom's pain and didn't apologize or ask if she was okay. I got upset saying she has sensitive skin and nails and he needs to show sincerity with his customers and ask what caused the pain so it doesn't happen again. He went on saying I'm disrespectful and whatnot. So I guess I need to be respectful and apologise to him for getting upset when he's not doing his job properly and not giving good customer service. read more

I've been meaning to get my nails done for a while. Looking around on yelp, I came across this place and though "why not give this place a try?" So I gave a quick call to see if it was busy and happy to hear it not bad. First time around, I drove past the place (mainly because it is a hole in the wall and because the yelp app needs to fix their maps), but was quickly seated to get my colors picked out. Upon walking it, it was a small place that seemed a little cluttered, but that's expected for a place being located next to a gas station. The lady that I got to do my nails was very nice and very quiet. She made sure that my nails were well shaped and completely covered with the powered. Although, in the end of the service, I can still see the nail tip through the power, and the gel top coat was botched job. My right hand wasn't cured for a full 60 secs which caused my nail to get a little messed up from either getting messed up or some black glitter getting trapped within the gel. Overall, I'm not upset with the job, and might comeback again if I need a quick fix me up. read more

This place doesnt gossip or talk about people. They did eventually ask if I was Vietnamese or Philippino, smart to ask before they start talking.
