I have been going to Dr La for over 2 years. My first visit with her a couple years ago when I wanted to go from rigid hard lenses to soft contact lenses. I had been wearing hard contacts for over 40 years! I have a very high prescription and Dr La was very patient getting me fitted to a soft contact lens. It was quite a process and I have to say I was very impressed at the trial contacts at high prescriptions that she had available. We tried different lenses in order to find the best one for me. She also helped me with learning how to insert and pull out the soft lens which was very challenging for me as it was totally different than a hard lens. I just had my most recent check up with Dr. La and her patience and professionalism is great! She takes her time as she wants to make sure you are fitted properly! read more

*****UPDATE******** I was contacted via message by this office who "can't seem to understand how this happened". I inquired about going to this office in last quarter of 2016 and since then I have been assured they have magically gotten all "new staff". I simply inquired about ordering frames and they for whatever reason authorized themselves for two family members not pertaining to my visit or inquiring about a visit (a did not attempt to authorize myself who actually inquired about glasses here). Extremely unprofessional, their need for business must be extreme if they are going to lengths to fraudulently authorize individuals for their office that have not stepped foot or called there but I guess authorizing yourself by utilizing their insurance as their provider when they have no intention to utilize their service is not at all shady or implied fraudulent. I have not contacted them to resolve the issue as the idea of someone who is completely baffled by the situation and unsure of how this happened does not by any means have my trust in resolving the issue. I will handle my insurance, please do not involve yourself any more than you inappropriately have already. While I understand the intention to "save face" in a reply from the owner, it should be well understood that some business practices here are unfavorable and have been mentioned in several other reviews. The idea that this can be dumbed down to carelessness, ignorance or old staff does not all rectify the issue or offer a free pass in my eyes. ********************** Although helpful over the phone, we decided to go elsewhere to have my frames ordered as I had seen another physician and they held authorization for my care. Just found out that they submitted authorizations for other members of my family (some of which do not live anywhere in Southern California) now we are fighting with the insurance company over authorization and questionable visits. We NEVER requested they submit this for anyone else outside of myself as no one had intentions to utilize this office for care. Out insurance confirmed that they did not submit anything for myself (likely because I told them I'd seen someone else already) Apparently this happens a lot. First visit here and the optometrist was very condescending. In addition they said they could get my contacts in in a week, two weeks after I ordered them I called bc I hadn't heard from them and the contacts still weren't in. Over a mont after I placed my order I still hadn't heard from them and called again and they said my contacts were available for pickup. One of the girls behind the desk seemed to be new and was sweet and helpful. The other one who came over to help the first one acted like I wasn't even there. Recently gained insurance through my employer and was in need of a new pair of glasses. I went online to look for providers and found this place down the street from where I live. They had a great selection of frames from D&G, Tiffany, Gucci and basic frames as well. I called and as soon as I spoke to the receptionist, I knew I wanted to try this place out. I work in the customer service industry and she made me feel so welcomed and will definitely be telling all my coworkers about this place! Thank you LVC! Less than an hour after I walked in, I am leaving with awesome, breathable contacts. For lack of better words, I can see clearly now, the rain is gone. Visited the location on Warner in HB. I got a test for frames and contacts. Front desk seems they rather do anything but answer your questions. I will no longer go here because the whole experience was a nightmare. I cannot believe how unorganized they are. After my contacts Exam they said they didn't know which ones I tested because their notes were not legible. Fine I went with it. Then they order the wrong contacts. I went with that too, but while trying to communicate with them to get the correct contacts their front desk girl was so rude and cold. I spoke to the optimist about and apparently she got fired or left for some reason. Anyway I spoke to the other receptionist and she asked me to come in to discuss my contacts with the optometrist. So I go in and the optometrist says she is busy but can see me another time. So why did I drive to the office ? Lol umm ok. The best part is that I'm paying for the contact Exam and the contacts out of pocket. When I agreed to the contact Exam they said it'd be 70 $ and when it was time to leave and pay front desk said it's actually 95$ cause blah blah blah. Due to them being rude and unorganized I'm not getting my contacts here now and asked for the prescription to be emailed to me. Turns out they forgot to input some Info on the form so now I've had to each out to the optometrist office and sams club is unable to process my order due to the issue. So hopefully my contacts are fine when they arrive since it seems they are pretty careless. I called today to express concern over the errors and asked if I could speak to the optometrist and the receptionist said no lol. So if you're paying out of pocket for contacts consider this before going here. read more

Customer Service is very important to me and boy did I get great Customer Service here! My husband and I have been in search for a new optometrist and were referred to Dr. La. I called the office and Dr. La had two available time slots at the end of the day to see myself and my husband. Not only was our appointment at the end of the business day it was on a Friday evening! She took her time with us and did not feel rushed. Kendra was very helpful and knowledgeable of their products. Very unhappy with the support in caring for my eyes. I went in being unable to see due to watering eyes and was recommended to wear sunglasses and given some over the counter drops. I don't feel like she listened to anything I was saying. Also pushed to pay extra for some silly blue light test. Called the next day twice as I was still in a lot of pain and unable to see. Didn't get a call back until 2 days later - at the end of the 2nd day!! Very unprofessional and horrible experience. I really question all of the positive Yelp reviews. Very, very suspect. read more
