It was my first time going on a Saturday night and I was nervous they would be sold out by the time we got there. We still took the chance and I'm so glad we did. The only thing they were out of was the smoked turkey which just gives me a reason to go back. We ordered almost all the meats, plus sides of mac and cheese, greens, and potato salad. The meal also came with blueberry cornbread and regular cornbread, and we finished it off with their homemade Biscoff dessert, which was so unique and so good. This was honestly some of the best BBQ I've had!! The meats were incredibly flavorful and tender and the sides were just as good. I genuinely think this place is underrated. The service was amazing! Everyone was super kind and welcoming even though we came close to closing time. We never felt rushed. They have both indoor and outdoor seating, both clean and perfect for groups. Hidden BBQ gem! Came here for a quick dinner on a trip to see my partner, and we absolutely loved it. Although we parked on a side street initially, we saw that there was a separate parking lot right next to the place that had plenty of spaces open. The staff here was super welcoming, not rushing us to order as they cut the brisket right in front of us for other customers. We both got the Brisket Sandwich combo which came with a side (we got potato salad and mac n cheese) which the staff member asked about what type of cut we wanted (fatty, lean, mix of both). We both got a mix. There is not too many seats inside so all the tables were full that day, but there is seating outside. The staff member was willing to use the table where they keep the utensils and sauces for everyone so we could eat inside (it was a bit chilly that day) but I didn't mind sitting outside. Although it was cold outside, I honestly did not care after taking a bite of the sandwich. Juicy and melting in my mouth, I have to say this is some of the best brisket I've ever had! I highly recommend pairing it with their BBQ sauce which really pulled it all together. Their potato salad was okay, as I prefer a more pickley potato salad, but their mac n cheese was delicious. Now I understand why they won best in Lex this year. I've been wanting to visit for a while and finally went. Unfortunately they were out of everything but the pulled pork - I was looking to try the brisket. One of the owners was the one there and apologized and was so nice and helpful for what they had. He and his sister let me know they were a family business and talked some more while he got my order together. The location is small (limited parking) but amazing service, hospitality, and food. I ended up getting a pulled pork sandwich with potato salad. And it was delicious! The pulled pork was moist with great flavor and the potato salad was perfect! I really wanted LX to be the spot but, after several visits, it just doesn't make the cut. First the prices...bbq is time intensive and not cheap but their prices are much higher than the other guys in town and food, specifically brisket, not as good. Ate here on a visit to Lexington. Very pleased - the pulled pork had a smoky taste and was just the right amount of moist. Not only were the sauces on the table good, but they blended well together. Service was great!! I'm basing this solely on the BBQ rating. The first flag to me is when you serve ribs with sauce on them, good ribs need no sauce, flavor of the ribs, peppercorn and salt, zero and I mean zero smoke flavor, ribs where cooked perfect as far as texture. Brisket had tad of smoke flavor but was overpowering with the peppercorn, hint this place loves the taste of pepper evidently, brisket was also kinda dry in spots not cooked evenly, baked beans where really good, Mac and cheese had no flavor. This is Lexington's best spot for barbeque and some of the nicest people you'll ever meet. Forget the others. Who door? What state? We sampled the beef brisket, turkey, pit beans, mac & cheese, banana pudding, and GF Texas sheet cake. Everything was soooo good! There are two choices of sauce on the tables - LX BBQ and Kentucky sweet. We preferred the LX. The meats were moist and lightly smokey. The sides were really good, too. And don't skip the homemade desserts. I generally don't care for banana pudding, but this version made with Biscoff cookies instead of vanilla wafers was delicious as was the Texas sheet cake!
