Cranbury pizza is that quintessential local spot where food is always served with a smile. Given the amount of Italian restaurants nearby, I always seem to forget about Cranbury Pizza. I've been to the new location several times now for dinner as well as lunch to grab a quick slice. We ordered the Chicken Marsala, chicken cheesesteak, pizza, and salads. Dinner entrees also come with a side salad. The new location of Cranbury Pizza is wonderful. The space inside allows for more seating and the outdoor area is much more inviting than their previous location just down the sidewalk. read more

We were traveling from South Carolina to New Hampshire and stopped overnight in Cranbury. Courtyard Marriott staff told me about this place and we ordered a pizza and Caesar salad. The pizza was delicious and authentic. The owner or manager provided me with paper plates, plastic silverware, and everything we needed for our To Go order. Historic Cranbury Main Street was an unexpected bonus. People were all out and about in the evening dining at sidewalk tables, eating at different restaurants, and having ice cream. It was all decorated for Independence Day and looked like a slice of Americana. Little kids fishing at Brainerd Lake and lots of historic colonial homes. If we weren't so tired from driving Cranbury would be a nice place to explore. Cranbury Pizza is a nice spot to enjoy. read more

Simply put, this is one of the highest value restaurants I have been to in the Princeton NJ area over the last 5 years. I really wish this was closer to the University as I probably would've came here each week if possible (maybe for the better as I would likely be 20 pounds heavier). The pizza is delectable. The soup is savory. The rice balls and other offerings are simply magnificent (pictured below). Their chicken noodle soup is very clearly made from scratch and the flavor from their simple yet delicious ingredients does not compare to any other soup I've had. The crust on the pizza and the cheese/tomato sauce ratio is perfect and I also do not think I can think of another pizza brand that can top it. The restaurant is accessible (nice wheel chair lift) and has plenty of seating. The service is great and the staff members work very efficiently to bring you their tasty food. I would absolutely stop by for a bite to each if you are ever in the area! read more

Cranbury Pizza has been a community staple on Main Street in Cranbury for quite some time. I hadn't visited since a fire had forced them to relocate a few doors down from their former location, but decided to visit on a warm summer day. Their new location is spacious and welcoming, with ample indoor seating and a nice patio area outside. We ordered a large cheese pizza and a chicken parmigiana sandwich. Both were decent, but lacking by New Jersey pizzeria standards. We agreed that the tomato sauce for both the pizza and sandwich did not have any pop or distinguishing flavor, being somewhat bland in taste. Sure, the pizza will satisfy your pizza craving, but neither the crust, sauce, nor cheese will leave you with a memorable experience. The service at the counter was a bit indifferent and not friendly, so all things considered, I probably won't be returning anytime soon as there are better pizzerias within a 5-10 minute drive. read more

Was passing by just recently around 1:30PM on a Friday and thought I'd get a roast beef sub to go. It was the worst sub I can recall ever having. Low quality meat, a lousy roll, and way overloaded with onions. I'll stick with nearby Mr Subs, find a Wawa, or eat something else from anywhere else before I ever go back to this place. This place has my family's favorite margherita pie of all time. Best enjoyed at the restaurant, right out of the oven. I've tried a little bit of everything on the menu, and the other standouts are the penne vodka, chicken roll, and any panini with fries. Keep an eye out for any specialty pies that you can try by the slice. They always look more appetizing than when you are reading from the menu. We sit mostly outside with our doggy, but also prefer it to inside, which is spacious but too brightly lit. There's a wheelchair lift to the indoor dining space, which is thoughtful. The outdoor seating overlaps with Teddy's, making this part of Cranbury lively during the day and it is also pretty at night. Servers seem like local high school kids, and it is heartwarming seeing them trying to do their best at work. Support this small business and enjoy its local charm! read more

When Cranbury Pizza reopened in this location after a fire, I have to be honest I was skeptical about whether the food would live up to my year long craving. Cranbury has become our go to now, we literally won't order from anywhere else because the pies here are consistently delicious. A medium works pizza was $27... pricey. They piled up the toppings so high there was no way the rust was ever going to hold it. The cheese overflowed over the crust on 2 pieces and got to the cardboard box becuase they didn't lay down enough parchment paper under the pie. So those 2 prices were soaking wet and tasted like wet pizza box. Not so great. Here's the thing, the pizza that wasn't ruined was great. We are so happy that Cranbury Pizza is open again for business, now in their beautiful new location (just steps away from their old spot on Main Street). Pizza was fresh, with the most perfect ratio of cheese to sauce. The marinara sauce was for the mozzarella sticks was EXCELLENT, I could've eaten it on its own. The inside of their new location is so new, very clean, and very modern with cool lighting on the ceiling and screens near the cash register for menus. Lots of seating and there's even a small wheelchair lift which is so inclusive for those who cannot use the stairs. Very glad to see their business doing well. A hidden gem in a chaotic world. The food smell, draws you in the door, but instead you opt out to eat outside where people are talking, laughing. Amazing place, indoor and outdoor seating available, clean bathrooms, the owner and the workers are so nice. Very friendly atmosphere and my pizza slices were excellent. I really enjoyed the mushroom slice. They put a ton of mushrooms on the slice and the crust was on the crispy side, just how I like it. We also had mozz sticks, Stuffed shells and garlic knots. I sadly left feeling disgusted and scammed after my visit at cranbury pizza today. I ordered food and was charged way more then I expected to be. When I asked the gentlemen who rung me up to double check he assured me the bill was right. I asked for a receipt which he crumbled up and threw in the garbage and said he didn't have anymore. I checked the menu and realized I definitely was overcharged and therefore spoke to the same gentlemen. He informed me that the "system has different prices". I was confused and so he began to enter my order in the computer to show me. The prices were not different. The prices were the same ones I saw in the menu and my bill was only $41. Again I was confused, why was I charged $50? When I asked him that, he said "oh I added money on for a table service fee". If I would have known that, I would have just sat at a table and been waited on instead. There are no signs regarding this additional fee of almost $10 nor did he tell me he was charging me extra money. Also if this were the case, why not just say that from the beginning? Why say the bill was right? Or that the computer charges higher prices? Overall I felt the behavior was very dissapointing, shady and sneaky. I feel taken advantage of and am wondering how many other people have been ripped off before me. If you do plan on going here I highly suggest double checking your receipt- that is if you can get ahold of it before they throw it out. read more

These guys had the misfortune of a business fire when it was down Main Street in Cranbury, NJ. The old place was small, but baked great pizza for a hole in the wall joint in Middlesex County. Well, their lemons were squeezed into lemonade when they reopened closer to the center of town nextdoor to Teddy's historic diner. The new place is bigger, has a nicer outdoor sidewalk red umbrella eating area, and an expanded menu complete with expanded prices. Such is the reawakening world of COVID as we struggled to start life anew with the virus lurking in the shadows of our casually unvaccinated immorality. But, I felt safe removing my mask sitting outside with an old friend on a perfect early autumn afternoon. The Cranbury Salad was very good from green apple slices to walnuts, craisins and the raspberry vinaigrette (Small, $9.95). My friend had a cup of Pasta Fagioli (a little salty), and the Arugula Salad (devoured, $9.95). The pizza still looked good and I appreciated that they provided table service outside even for individual slices. Service was that friendly, and we sat there catching up for over 2 hours without a single stare down from the staff. Keep that up and 5 Stars won't be far away. read more

Our child is on the Autism Spectrum, so we called ahead for reservations and were told that they don't take any. Fine; we decided to take our chances at showing up and getting a table outside. There weren't any tables available, so I turned to my husband and said: "It's okay. Let's just go somewhere else." We noticed a big table that had been set for 10 people and I said to the owner of the restaurant: "Excuse me, but we had actually called for a reservation and were told you don't take any." To which he replied: "We don't." I asked: "Is it possible to split this table?" And he said: "No, I'm holding this for a group of 10." Come again? "I thought you said you don't take reservations?" The rest of our family happened to show up at that moment, and the owner claimed to my parents that he had said he would have a table ready in 5 minutes but I had told him I wasn't willing to wait. This was a blatant lie, but there was no point in arguing any further with a person who was unwilling to serve us. As we were leaving, the owner continued to antagonize us claiming *I* had refused to wait for a table and had told him I was going somewhere else. I finally turned around and said: "Sir, my son is on the Autism Spectrum and for his safety [because he would elope if he became any more dysregulated], I told my husband that we should just go somewhere else. This is the iconic pizza place in Cranbury and has been in the town for decades. They are not in the original building they started in, but the new one is a lot nicer. The ambiance and service are the best, all the workers are the best restaurant workers I've had. A lot of the workers are the same workers they had decades ago. They get a full pizza done with a short wait time. Slices of pizza they can get out within a couple minutes. This is my go to pizza place, for the nostalgia as well as how amazing the pizza tastes. The prices of this place are very fair for the quality and size of the pizza. Besides the pizza all of their other foods are amazing as well. This restaurant has become the go to place for pizza in Cranbury for a reason. read more

I need to respond to Danny T's now Yelp-removed slanderous review from last evening. My wife and I were witness to the incident and the truth is that Danny and his party were occupying one of Cranbury Pizza's outdoor tables without patronizing the restaurant. They were sitting there eating ice cream. Rather than order from one of the waitresses, they purchased some beverages to go from Cranbury Pizza. The owner politely asked them to vacate the table as the tables are reserved for waitress service exclusively for Cranbury Pizza. They are NOT public property! Instead of moving to a public area (or even to the ice cream shop that has an ample amount of outdoor seating) they proceeded to curse and physically threaten the owner. They threw the race card at him repeatedly without substance. Grow up Danny T! - if you don't get your way I'd refrain from calling someone racist just to soothe your fragile little ego. You were in the wrong - accept it and learn from it. Incidentally, Cranbury Pizza is by far the best pizza in this area and they have many other items on their menu and they're all excellent!
