My family and I used to come here. Until we started being robbed by one individual at the cashier. We realized the guy at checkout was adding extra items to our bill. This young man would add 2 to 3 items ranging in price like $2.99, $3.99, etc. Things we did not have in our bags. I started counting how many products we bought and comparing it with the receipt and the receipt always had 2 to 3 extra items more! Another one star review mentioned the same issue 3 years ago!! We stopped coming here obviously. I felt victimized by this individual. He doesn't do it to everyone. He chooses his victims and for some reason he thought he could do it to me and my family. I alerted everyone I know because I had recommended this place to family and friends, so I had to let them know what to expect if they ever came here. Be aware! read more

I've been here several times with my good friends who originally introduced me to this wonderful market and it is my favorite in town! It is expansive-I promise you will find what you need! The staff are very friendly and the shop is impeccably clean. If you are in the need of any Asian ingredient for cooking, this is the place for you! I've gotten their nori wraps, a surplus of candy, snacks, steamed buns and much much more. The products are quality and priced well! They have all the yummy goods that you can't find in those chain grocery stores. Also, the store layout is very organized! Each aisle has a general theme to keep your shooing efficient. Plus, if you don't speak another language, do not worry, as most of the products have a translation or are written in English too! One of my favorite parts is the fresh fruit and vegetable options that they provide. Also, since going more than once, I have learned that they change their products every now and then. Good place to find unique Asian groceries. Tallahassee isn't very ethnically diverse, so it's a miracle to have this place for uncommon Asian spices and food that you would find at American grocery stores. Coming from California, it's crazy that there isn't much diversity of big costal states. They have pre-made bulgogi beef and pork, sushi ginger, canned lychee for my green tea, pickled radish, unagi sauce, dynamite mayo, Asian snacks, fresh veggies and fruit. This store is an Asian wonderland. The aisles are filled with oodles of things from dishes, teapots, chopsticks and coffee to fresh fruits and vegetables to frozen goods and statues and incense. This place is as good as it gets in terms of Asian grocery stores in Tallahassee. It's clean, bright, and well stocked. I don't come here often. But when I do, I get my Japanese rice, dumplings, Chinese sausage, veggies, cooking sauces, and everything else Asian here. Recently I was able to find a nice moon cakes gift set for the Chinese Moon Festival. I'm glad they actually carried it especially considering that fact that the owners are Vietnamese not Chinese. What I think this place is seriously lacking is a personal touch. I'd say service is lukewarm. I was never greeted or smiled at. I never get that warm fuzzy feeling by coming here which is quite different than my previous Asian grocery shopping experience in other cities. That makes me miss Tim's Oriental market in San Antonio. Or even another much smaller Chinese grocery in the middle of nowhere in West Texas. But fear not, the New Seoul Oriental Market though much smaller is where you go get friendly and personable service while doing your Asian grocery shopping! read more

I have no complaints here. It's the biggest Asian market in Tallahassee, it has tons of stuff, and it's decently priced. The selection of instant Ramen is HUGE. Rice is a variety as well. They also have cool tableware! I didn't have much interaction with staff, just checking out, but it was quick. There is a $5 minimum for debit or credit card purchases though, so just be wary of that. I would definitely like to go back and get some more stuff soon. I look forward to it. read more

Secret (or not-so-secret?) gem of Tallahassee. Lynn's has fresh produce at reasonable prices, "exotic" cuts of meat (cow tongue, cheek, stomach, etc.) that we like to use for our recipes at home, and everything you need to make almost any Asian dish. They also have some hard-to-find produce items, like sapote, guava, dragonfruit, and others. The prices on their herbs and mushrooms are unbeatable. In addition to the wide selection of food items, they also carry cooking equipment and plates/dishes. Don't have a bamboo steamer yet? No worries, Lynn's has it. No bowls big enough for your ramen masterpiece? They've got those, too. And if you're feeling thirsty, Lynn's has a great selection of teas and juices. They have lychee juice, for example, and flower teas (that we usually can't find anywhere BUT China). If you haven't been to Lynn's, you're missing out! read more

I shop at Lynn's about once per week...it's one of my favorite local markets! It's part of my ritual to shop at the three markets next to one another- Lynn's Oriental Market for fresh, delicious Asian ingredients; Capital Seafood (used to be Mike's) for fresh-off-the-boat, local seafood; and Southern Grower's Market for inexpensive local produce and Indian ingredients. It's the trifecta of local markets for me, all with great customer service, fair prices, and very high quality ingredients! Lynn's in particular is fantastic for some of my favorite Korean ingredients like kimchi and gochujung, vegetarian dumplings, and lots of other Asian staples like rice noodles, edamame, chili paste, peanut sauce, Japanese rice, and packaged products. On just about every visit, I buy fresh bok choy, thai basil, mint leaves, and bean sprouts as well as frozen edamame. One of my favorite cuisines to cook is Thai food, and I always find the ingredients I need at Lynn's. I also really appreciate the vast selection of vegan and vegetarian supplies they carry. read more

OK, OK, OK. I knew from the get-go that Lynn's was a Five-Star rating. As my prior review reflects, I was optimistically holding out for them to get Uni stocked. That's clearly not happening yet - but, perhaps if we'd ask for it more (the GREATER "We" - as in YOU), then we'd get it stocked here! Anyway - everything else from the previous review stands. This is not the only asian market in town, but I do believe it is the largest and most convenient (for me). I really love coming here as the items found here are unique to the average American grocery experience. Walking the isles, I like to browse the selections and pick up a few things that I would like to try - like the asian "junk foods". What knocked a star off is the lack of help here. With many items not labeled in English, it is hard to find what you are looking for - when you are actually here to buy something for a recipe. Trying to ask for help is tough as they don't have much help apart from the register. So, I rely more on Google images on my smart phone than I do on help in the store. Good mix of Asian foods and groceries can find Filipino, Thai, Korean, Japanese, Vietnamese. They have fresh vegetables, dumplings, ice cream, snacks, sauces, noodles, rice, baking ingredients and frozen goods. I had been looking for a rice mat to make California roles and they had them along with seaweed sheets. They also have a good selection of teapots and other dishes. What was once Mikes Asian and seafood market is now broken into Capital Seafood Market and Lynns Oriental Market. In my opinion Lynns is the biggest, cleanest, freshest and best true Oriental market in town. The fruits, vegetables, and herbs are cheap and fresh. A lot of the frozen stuff dosent have frost bite either which is good. The can stuff isn't expired, etc. And its not dingy and dusty here, its brightly lit. I also say this because when your think Oriental Market you think essentially a Asian Market that has something for everyone from Chinese to Korean to Thai to Viet, etc. etc. This Market unlike the other Oriental Markets in town does not lean towards one type (ex: New Seoul Oriental Market obvi is leaned towards korean food- love this place but only go here if Im going to make korean food usually). This place has something for everyone. (Sorry if I write the most about Chinese food but its because I am Chinese so its just what I know the most about). For example, if you are Chinese they have a lot of the typical stuff all Chinese people use like Chinese tea, soy sauces, oyster sauce, dumplings, diff types of chinese noodles, fresh chinese vegetables like bok choy, candy, chips, etc. And they have specific stuff like if you are (or like) taiwanese food they have stuff like Taiwanese beef noodle stuff and taiwanese cabbage, etc. If your from HK, they have dim sum stuff and stuff for congee like duck eggs, dried pork, and youtiao. And they have bakery stuff occasionally near the front. For Korean there is stuff from red bean paste, fish sauce, sesame oil, to black bean sauce and noodles (and they have rice cake) , to Asian veggies that Korean use such as Asian sweet potato, radish, chinese eggplant, Asian cabbage for kimchi, bbq stuff, ramyun, etc. Oh and Korean/asian pear. Japanes have stuff from sushi rice, kewpie, to sushi stuff, to octopus balls, eel (and eel sauce), udon noodles or soba and more. Viets like stuff for summer rolls (and the sweet chili sauce), stuff for pho (they have new broth stock stuff in!), fresh herbs like mint for pho, and bbq. Thai have tons of chili peppers, specific long grain thai rice, tom yum stock, fish sauce, fresh herbs, etc. Basically, if you are looking for something, they probably have it (asian ingredients and food wise) Oh and they have asian bowls plastic or china wear, chopsticks, dipping sauce bowls, plates, etc. Oh and they have my favorite coffee from cafe du monde for even cheaper than buying it in New Orleans (funny but it's true!) And if you are like me you eat everything from everywhere so this place is gold mine. I can get stuff to make hot pot, sushi, pho, dumplings, veggies, candy and chips, ramen or udon, stuff for dukbokki, etc. all in one run. This is one of my favorite local places to go grocery shopping at. It has a very calm and welcoming vibe to it, and is full of interesting and cute trinkets. The food is all tasty looking and is stocked very organized and neat. The variety of flavors for each kind of ramen, candy, soda and other foods is abundant. The staff is friendly and very helpful. If you need suggestions or have any questions they are quick to answer efficiently. Covid rules are strict and are followed thoroughly. This oriental market is hands down, the best in Tallahassee. Every time I need an ingredient/sauce for a new recipe, I can always find it at Lynn's. Also, I am very impressed with their wide variety of vegetables and herbs ( You can buy a huge bag of baby bok choy for only $3 and a big bag of cilantro for only $1). Recently, I noticed an entire freezer section dedicated to VEGAN products, mostly vegan alternatives to asian meats and seafood. I almost jumped up and down of excitement! :D Overall, this place has a huge selection of just about anything and I will be frequenting this market from now on. The only thing that I was a little disappointed about was not being able to find vegan kimchi (kimchi without any shrimp/fish product in it). Hopefully, they will have it in the future. read more
