The collection is well curated, showing a variety of mediums and perspectives. A lot of the exhibits rotate so that the vast art collection at SU can be seen, as having the ability to bring in traveling exhibits. Most of what I saw while I was there would be on display until March 2022. Wandering through the rooms I found myself moved by the visiting exhibit in the first couple of room, which was "Per(Sister) Incarcerated Women of Louisiana". It had a variety of mediums conveying the stories of women in prison. It felt really accessible, art which would reach and communicate clearly to anyone. "Reckonings: American Art and the Slow Violence of Climate Crisis", was a handful of images brought together by SU students from the 1800 through mid-1900s which had a really thought provoking commentary on art as a reflection of climate change and human treatment of the environment. The work on display of Mary Petty made me laugh, and again think deeper about the time and context in which she was creating her illustrations. More traditional and global work can be found in the Collection Highlights. If on campus to visit the museum on the weekend you can use the College Lot for free. It's only a block from the museum so it's quite convenient. For the size the Art Museum delivers a lot and it is well worth a visit.

The first day when I pulled up 15 minutes early my 6 year old was already waiting in the parking lot for me. She had taken the wrong class and gotten out early. No one noticed she was in the wrong class and no one noticed her walk out the building or her waiting in the parking lot area alone. Then on another occasion she was dared by an older kid to go outside naked she did and again no one noticed a her go outside even naked. I should have known better than to let her be there on her own shame on me I won't do that anymore. The parking lot is muddy a large part of the year that's hard on shoes and vehicle interior. There's no large viewing window. There's a window in the door you can look through but you risk getting hit by the door, being in the way and other parents are also trying to look through the window. The cost is about 85$ a quarter and the class is about 40 minutes long once a week we did a recital of the Nutcracker last winter it was performed at Cayuga College. The Spring performance is going to be Wizard of Oz. This is a revision review as the owner did call me today to introduce herself to me and also to address these issues. Victoria worked with me to develop a gorgeous piece that would look great at both my bridal shower and for my wedding in a few weeks. When we realized the initial piece was a bit ambitious, she was more than happy to rework it to something that was doable for both of us. This was my first tattoo in decades, on my back, fairly large and complicated and really pushed me to the edge of my tolerance, but Victoria was incredibly supportive, hyped me, gave me breaks when I needed them, and changed tactics when I started to struggle. We watched silly movies and nature documentaries, and I was able to stop and get food when I needed it. I never write reviews but I need to in this case. Tai Kai is unlike a traditional gym, where you…read morepay your money, get your lessons or workout in, then go home. At Tai Kai you leave with so much more. Not only do you get top level training from the original BJJ school in CNY who has the most black belts around, but you also gain a new family, community, a home away from home where everybody knows your name (like Cheers, but without the alcohol). I couldn't be more sincere when I say you earn a new family. And this was evident when my 5 year old son (who also trained at Tai Kai) was diagnosed with brain cancer. Ken, the owner and my friend the past 10 years, put together a fund raiser at the gym to help raise money for my son and the upcoming medical costs. The turnout was huge and was more than I would've ever expected. Ken and everyone else at the gym checks on My son all the time, asking how he's doing and I wish I can bring him into the gym so he could get to see everyone who cares about him. Others had dropped of food for us, donated toys, clothes...etc to help relieve our burden. The 10 years I've spent training Jiu Jitsu, Muay Thai, boxing, and mma at Tai Kai; the blood and sweat, the physical rigors and soreness from a great workout....it's all been worth it to be able to be part of a family and community that had my back in the most difficult time of me and my family's life. Thank you Ken and Tai Kai for being the best around.
