Mango Green Tea ICED MEDIUM
Maritza B.

Visited 85 C bakery for a pastry and drink. I ordered a Vietnamese iced coffee, I will say the coffee itself was very strong staff later informed me that specific coffee had 6 shots of espresso which is why it was very strong and bitter. I decided to order a different drink and ordered a mango green tea instead :) and it was perfect! The place had enough seating to lounge and hang out.

I ordered Deluxe Chocolate Mousse online and just picked it up. I was able to get it right away despite a lot of people in the place. The cake is good not too sweet and we all like it.

I think this was my second or third visit and I came for an Almond Half-moon, Hokkaido Custard Bun, and Iced Passion Fruit Green Tea. I asked for the tea to be unsweetened, but it still had sweetness from the Passion Fruit, which was fine. The Almond Half-moon was kind of dry, so not my favorite. However, the Hokkaido Custard Bun packed a dangerously delicious punch. I hadn't had one before and I'm certain I could eat several.

Strawberry Matcha Latte

Customer service is always nice. Mostly restocked and clean. Sold out of a lot of popular items such as a cheese dog croissant. Tables are available but dirty. Drink wait time today wasn't too bad for Sunday afternoon. I'm really enjoying the ice strawberry matcha latte and strawberry crème danish. Parking is always busy but never waited more than 8 minutes.

I love many item from 85°, My usual location is the one in Irvine , but I was in the Cerritos area so decided to stop by . This one is big bakery, their have more tables than other locations. It's nice to hangout or waiting for the busy sushi place next door. :-) Everything was fresh . The cakes looked fabulous , in stock, and a great selection. I love the Pork Sung Bun , egg tarts , Coconut Rais Tart , Ube Bread , and my daughter like Spicy Sausage . This location in particular does not have the friendliest staff possible this store is too busy and not enough staff to work efficiently Parking at peak hours, is tricky but you'll get a spot with some patience !

If it was a more upgraded bag, then I would understand why.

Thank you for the response. I understand that California law requires a fee for a "carry-out bag" provided at checkout, and I am not disputing that requirement. However, a carry-out bag is legally and practically understood to be an auxiliary convenience item, a bag whose sole purpose is to assist a customer in transporting goods after purchase, typically disposable and not integral to the product itself. A pastry box does not meet that definition. A pastry box is primary product packaging. It is essential for: * protecting fragile food items, * maintaining food safety and structure, * and presenting the product as sold particularly when pastries are intended for gifting or professional settings. Unlike a carry-out bag, a pastry box is not optional, not ancillary, and not interchangeable with a reusable bag. Customers are not reasonably expected to place individual pastries into a reusable bag, where they would be crushed, contaminated, or rendered unsuitable for presentation. The law addresses fees for bags used in addition to product packaging, not for packaging that is inseparable from the product itself. Treating a pastry box as a "carry-out bag" conflates two distinct categories and goes beyond the intent of the statute. From a customer standpoint, requiring an additional bag fee in this context undermines the premium nature of the product and creates confusion about what is legally required versus what is a discretionary business policy. I appreciate the clarification and hope this distinction can be reviewed internally to ensure the policy aligns both with the law and with the customer experience you aim to provide.

This is a huge 85. Lots of seating and open space to hang out. Breads come out frequently and the cake case is full of the usual 85 offerings. Order drinks via kiosk. Casual. Please come and create your own experience.

Strawberry Matcha Latte - it was ok
Lawring W.

Finally tried the strawberry matcha. It was ok. Maybe I'm not a strawberry matcha person. Glad I could order at the kiosk (two available) so I don't need to wait in line. Didn't have to wait too long. Lots of bread available. I didn't see the walnut crumble though. Very big and spacious inside.

Nice big seating areas and drinks come out quickly. There are 2 digital kiosks for drinks aside from the 3 cash registers. A nice cozy place to get some work down or meet with someone!

Choc chip

I was craving something sweet after lunch at Lunasia and had to walk in here because of the massive amounts of people bustling in and out. The pastries look delicious but everything is like $4 each now, ouch. Service is quick even though lines are extra donation long. I got these cookies for $4 for 3, but it didn't taste like chocolate chip cookies. Texture was good but flavor profile taste more like a gingerbread cookie.

Cakes

I went like 30 minutes before closing and I was surpised by how much desserts were still available. Of course I got a few breads but it was my first time getting cookies. Their cookies are both soft and crunchy. They are the perfect balance of taste and texture (not too sweet). Also, I was surprised by the price! Under $4 for 3 cookies that are delicious. I think that even beats grocery store prices. Although, it was the end of the day when I arrived everything was still very fresh. We also got some cheese cake and chocolate cake and it was to die for. As always, the store was clean!

Strawberry Cream Square
Eric W.

I love stopping by 85 Degrees. I ordered a number of different items, and everything was great, but my favorite by far was the Strawberry Cream Squares. They were fresh, light, and perfectly balanced -- not overly sweet, just right. This bakery is always clean and well-organized, and the staff are consistently friendly, welcoming, and helpful, which makes every visit a good experience. It's an Asian-style bakery with a great selection of baked goods and specialty drinks, so there's always something new to try. Overall, this is one of my favorite bakeries. Highly recommend stopping by -- it's definitely worth a visit, and I'll continue coming back.

85°C Bakery Cafe-Cerritos Reviews in Other Languages

Ask the Community - 85°C Bakery Cafe-Cerritos

I heard that some 85' bakeries serve friend chicken sandwiches? Does the Cerritos branch have it?

Unfortunately not. I believe it's only sold at J&G Fried Chicken by 85 C Bakery in Hacienda Heights.

Is there outdoor dining in front or in the plaza since indoor dining is closed?

No, there is no seating outside and no indoor seating. It is take out only.

Do they have moon cakes?

Yes they do it's one of their specialties

Is this a good place to study? Planning to visit on a weekday mid-morning

I my opinion, no, it tends to get loud in there and since it's family oriented, at times there are kids being playful. Not a typical quiet coffee shop.

By constantly challenging themselves to create the most delicious works of art, they have taken their love for the craft to a whole new level (From their website). Background On Visit: I was primarily going to RWT (Pokemon Card Shop) Collective on the second floor of the plaza, Something about the line and a average of 5 stars on their yelp page made me want to patronize the shop. So I did. Credit Cards: They're accepted. Restroom: Didn't see a restroom. :) Wait Time: Can be long. Luckily, I didn't wait long when I patronized the shop. Location/Parking: Located in a plaza on the NW corner of Sawtelle Blvd. and W. Olympic. There's a couple of shared 15 minute parking spots in the parking lot, paid parking structure, or meter parking along Olympic, Sawtelle, or surrounding streets. I did find a secret place with free 2 hour parking on the NE corner of Purdue Ave. and Olympic Blvd.. :) Ambiance/Decor: Neat ambiance with a few modern furnishings to sit, eat, and enjoy ones company. Service: Service was great! Tera (staffer) was very nice, attentive, offered great suggestions, and was quite informative about the shop. She also informed me that I was able to get two complimentary macarons. Patisserie Of Choice: 1) Blossom: Consisted of vanilla mousse, pistachio/red berries insert, pistachio crunch, and pistachio sponge. It was too pretty to eat, but I ate it anyways. So good and soo yum! 2) Roche: Consisted of hazelnut mousse, house made praline combined with soft caramel, hazelnut sponge. Taste like a Ferrer Rocher! It's very dense and sweet, but great to eat. Not something I'll have all the time. Macarons Of Choice : I got the Cookies and Cream and pistacio. They were both good. Artelice Patisserie For Thought: Wouldn't mind coming back. I'm coming for you almond croissant.

But even then I feel like the cream of the roll cake lacked flavor and it was just sponge cake. I was a little disappointed because it is supposedly such a great bakery and I was excited to try it. The crossaint pastries were incredibly difficult to eat, they were so hard and seemed over cooked to the point as if it was like eating a rock. I didn't personally try the cream bread however to me it did look a little too hard as well and the bread was not softly coming apart when bitten into, so it looked quite messy to eat. I personally wouldn't choose to come to this bakery but I am glad that I got to try it out!

Its a small shop on Main in Alhambra and there's a lot in the back as well as street parking. It's a brightly lit, pick up and go type place though there are a couple tables out front. The baked goods look really cute and enticing and I ended up going for a mystery box since I wasn't after a specific cake and the mystery aspect seemed appealing. I also got 6 egg tarts, which were a great price at $1 each. The baked goods/sweets looked better than they tasted flr me. The egg tarts had a texture that was a bit off putting for myself, it was more of a steamed egg texture than a silky custardy filling. Flavorwise, they were ok though. The mystery box was fun and I got an apple cake, peach cake, and a panda cake. Now the mystery box is day old cakes so keeping that in mind, they are like cream based "cakes" and are essentially cream covered gels/jellies of some sort. The flavor and textures were good, very light cream with strong fruit flavors (the panda was also a peach flavor, I think). As a set of the mystery box price, I think the cakes are fun to try but I wouldn't, personally, pay those prices for essentially shaped cream. I'm glad I tried a new spot but ultimately don't think it was super impressive and found most of their desserts and baked items to be average, or a little less so as for the egg tarts.
