Its 85C, so I think most people know what to expect. I would rate this more of a 3.5 star but it's an average asian bakery with conveniently packaged breads and pastries, and pretty good drinks. I think compared to the traditional asian bakeries in 626 like Kee Wah, etc., the breads are much softer (a little on the overly soft side). One of my favorite asian breads, the bolo bao, is probably the worst here or at any 85C - the flakiness that's supposed to be the highlight of the bolo bao is not even close to where it needs to be at 85C. But I will say, the bun with the coffee filling inside is spectacular, and I would recommend it to anyone who loves coffee. At night, the selection of the breads is extremely limited, but the place is still popular due to the large variety of drink offerings. There is a lot of seating and the place is generally clean and well-lit. The parking lot is big but it's always busy and may be hard to find a spot unless you park further away sometimes. read more

Came here with a friend during an errand run recently and thought it was time to finally craft a review. She actually bought a few pastries this time around, but I opted not to grab anything as we came later in the evening a lil before closing so they were out of stock of a lot of breads/options. That being said I've come here pretty frequently over the years. I think the quality is just fine, if not a little decline over when they originally opened way back when but that's just the trend nowadays. I think they have a pretty wide selection and fair prices in general. Their cakes are a bit overly saccharine sweet for my liking, so I've since stopped ordering those and stick to their bread options. Speed of Service 1/5 Went here on a weekday and I swear to you the line here was worse than the DMV! I can't even blame them though because how could you possibly manage a whole line of people with only one person on the register??? Love 85 bakery! My husband and I love coming here for their bacon bread. It is my absolute favorite. I will buy upwards to 2 or more every time I come to a location. I also recently tried their milk teas and YUUUUM! We have here the traditional milk tea and the seasonal one with pumpkin (darker color). I can say my husband and I both recommend it. Just had the worst experience in customer service at 85° Cerritos. I ordered both a Strawberry Banana smoothie and Strawberry Matcha Latte so that I could get the cat magnet. Per the promotion, you must order any two Strawberry drinks. They were behind in the drink orders, so I just waited patiently. But, then I noticed people who arrived after me were receiving their drinks. So, when I showed my receipt, not only was my Strawberry Banana smoothie order "lost" but another female customer walked off with/stole my Strawberry Matcha Latte. At this point, 15 minutes have passed and I wasn't offered an apology or compensation (free drink for the inconvenience). Naturally, I was angry and grabbed a display tote to show that I wanted a clean, brand new mini tote as compensation. Which I thought was fair because I didn't want to stand in line again to try and get a refund. Instead, I was accused of trying to "steal" a bag worth 2 cents. Just because I touched the bag. I ordered a Vietnamese iced coffee, I will say the coffee itself was very strong staff later informed me that specific coffee had 6 shots of espresso which is why it was very strong and bitter. This 85 is probably one of the biggest ones I've been to. There is quite a bit of indoor seating, which is nice. I would say that the parking is always a hassle at this plaza. If you go during dinner rush, the best place would be to park closer to Aldi and just walk a bit. I don't typically stop by 85 too often, but when I do, I always get their Tiramisu Cheesecake. Personally, I think the Tiramisu Cheesecake is their best sliced cake; it is definitely one of my favorites there. I have yet to try a few of the other cakes, since I don't want to buy a whole cake for one person, but it is always tempting... A close second would be their opera cake (but I haven't seen this one in a while), or their coffee creme brûlée cake. For the other cakes, mostly the fruit ones, I've always gotten a dry slice, so I don't typically get those ones anymore. Along with cakes, there are other pastries and desserts that they serve. It has been so long since I've been to this plaza for Gen, that 85°C Bakery Cafe was not even open yet! We were down the street at Canaan and we wanted to grab coffee (and bread). We saw the Brioche tray "fresh" from the kitchen so we decided to grab one. Even though this Brioche was "fresher" than the ones from the Tustin location, this one was dryer. The Tustin location was pretty bare bones in their bread offerings, barely any bread for customers to purchase as compared to this location where each tray was full. The lines to the counter were also very long. When another customer (with their family) came in, they were like "What, is coffee free?" I joked with them as well since it seemed like it, with the amount of customers lined up everywhere. Good thing I placed a kiosk order for my coffee first so that was ready before I even reached the counter, helped me save time. Kiosk Order: Brown Sugar Oat Latte (Medium, Hot) $5.75 Counter: Brioche $2.85 As I mentioned in my review for the Tustin location, I am very disappointed that 85°C makes their customers purchase bag(s) and box(es) for their bread and cakes. One can bring their own bags but if one was purchasing an entire box of bread to treat others, one does have to purchase a box, for presentation. This is not a supermarket. This is not to help the environment, this is greed, plain and simple. Bag(s) $0.10 Box(es) $0.15 I do love that their coffee was extremely hot - it was still hot by the time I arrived home around 35 minutes later. I dislike lukewarm coffee, especially lattes. For flavored lattes, I normally order them half sweet, but I forgot to check if I could do that through the kiosk. The Brown Sugar was a bit too sweet for me, but it was not overpowering and the Oat Milk was a nice balance. For the price and the size of the cup, it was most certainly reasonably priced. This location has many tables for customers to enjoy their drinks and goods. This location is one of the busiest I have been to in awhile, and I used to line up for over an hour when the Irvine location first opened up. My BLT sandwiches taste like something an Iron Chef made with the chewiness of the toasted white bread they make. Five stars for the baked goods, easy. But sweet baby Jesus, the checkout line is where time goes to die. I have aged visibly waiting to pay for a single milk bun. I went in with a fresh Gen Z part in my hair and came out with a full-blown middle-aged dad side part. Scientists could study this line to solve dark matter--because somehow fifteen people ahead of me turns into a two-hour TED Talk about whose credit card has the least chipped corner. They move at the speed of a DMV on NyQuil. The interior is really spacious with plenty of seating and it gets really packed at night time especially on the weekends with people hanging out. I recommend downloading the app if you want to accrue points and order ahead for pick up. Our Go-To Bakery for Birthdays! We visited 85°C Bakery twice last month to celebrate two birthdays and ordered the Mango and Ube cakes. Both were delicious and had just the right amount of sweetness. If I had to choose between the two, I'd say the Ube cake was even more flavorful, but if you love fruity flavors, the Mango cake is a great option too! This location is always busy with lots of customers, so there's usually a long line. However, the wait wasn't too bad since the line moved quickly. This is my go to bakery due to their baked goods. They have thee best pastries due to the consistency of their products. Now, regarding their drinks it's hit or miss! From the coffee's to their matcha drinks...either too sweet, no flavor or good! The last two occasions have been a thumbs down.
