We recently found this small bakery called Bakes and Pastes and decided to try it out. I believe their specialty is the Zion cake, so we went with that first. It's a mix of dark and white chocolate, and honestly it was so good. Super moist and creamy, and not too sweet. Just a really nice balance of flavors. Everyone in our family loved it. We also got the cashew silvanas, and those were a hit too. Buttery and crunchy, definitely something we would order again. We are already planning our next visit and are excited to try more of their items, such as the Zed cake and the yema cake. Service was very friendly as well. Overall, such a great find and definitely a place we will keep coming back to. Highly recommend! read more

Hands down the BEST Silvanas and Sans Rival I've ever had. The Silvanas have the perfect texture: crunchy, light, and airy meringue with a rich buttercream filling that's not overly sweet. The Sans Rival is equally amazing. They definitely don't skimp on the cashews, and every bite is loaded with that delicious nutty flavor. You can tell they use quality ingredients and take pride in what they make. We bought a dozen of the Assorted Silvanas planning to keep them in the freezer and enjoy them over a few days. That plan didn't last long. We ended up finishing the entire box on the drive home! We loved the Classic and Pistachio Silvanas! I've already been telling friends and family about this place because good Silvanas and Sans Rival are hard to find, and these are exceptional. You can really taste the love and care that goes into every batch. We are looking forward to coming back soon! read more

Our favorite bakery in the area! Definitely a must to pre order ahead of time because their line can get long and they run out of stock on holidays and weekends. Whenever I crave a moist chocolate cake, Red Ribbon or this place is my go-to. Their crinkle cookie is the best I've ever had. Every item is so moist and not overly sweet, especially their double chocolate cookie with a hint of saltiness. I am not exaggerating when I say that the Zion cake here is the best chocolate cake I have ever had in my entire life. The cake itself is super rich and moist and the chocolate cream on top is so decadent and high quality - but at the same time it's not too sweet. Bakes and Pastes is in a small shopping center with parking in the front and back of the building. It's cute little shop. There's no place to sit and eat. The AC was on blast and it felt really good because it was a hot day. I ordered assorted Silvanas, Dubai chocolate bar and Zion cake. They were all delicious and not too sweet for me. It was my first time having Dubai chocolate and it was different, but good and crunchy. The only thing is that it is pricey, but these are premium products. Even the packaging looks really cool. Decided to yelp search "Dubai chocolate" out of curiosity, and this place popped up! My friend has been talking about needing to try this viral (and wayyy overpriced) chocolate bar at least once. She bought some in her area for her kids to try and they begged for her to buy some more. Since her kiddos are quite picky, it made me more curious. I was under the assumption that this chocolate was hard to find, so was surprised to find a local bakery to have it. I also thought this chocolate bar was one particular brand coming straight from Dubai (hence the $$$), when in reality, each shop is making their own using the ingredients in the chocolate bar. As mentioned, a single chocolate bar is quite pricey at $18 (with tax $18.54). But, I was pleasantly surprised at the nice box and overall packaging of the chocolate...and it felt heavy! I didn't know what to expect, but I've seen people on social media taking the whole bar and breaking it down the middle...so I attempted to do that, only to find how delicate the bar was. My thumb went straight through and left an ugly crack in the middle of this pretty chocolate bar. Lol. Despite the failed attempt to make it look as good as the people on social media did, the chocolate bar was quite good. So good to the point my crazy mind considered going back the next day to buy another. Something I didn't notice until I went in for the last piece today is that they have a Bible verse at the bottom of the chocolate box which was a nice surprise. Psalm 133:1. History

Established in 2020.

Born Out of Cravings We are a husband and wife duo. We started our business during the pandemic, it was an unplanned business, but we prayed for it. I, myself, Zarah is a certified sweet tooth. During the lockdown, I was craving for desserts, but I couldn't go anywhere, so we tried to experiment on our own. All our products were just pandemic cravings. It started with Silvanas, Yema Cake, Dream Cake, Sans Rival. We did not intend to sell for business as it was just a simple craving and experiment! Until my sister posted it on her Instagram story and people got curious and have been trying to order. We were hesitant to accept orders at that time but eventually we gave in. And since then, we have not stopped in making new recipes and as the saying goes, the rest is history. TONS of credits go to Mark for his sleepless nights to fulfill all orders. We give all Glory to Jesus! “For we walk by faith, not by sight.” 2 Cor 5:7

As a big fan of Sans Rival, I was excited to discover that they offer Sans Rival cookies in three unique flavors: Cashew, Pistachio, and Cookies and Cream.
