An amazing team meal at Lyra, wouldn't change a thing. The servers managed a large party with two food allergies and lots of food preferences with ease and attentiveness. Cocktails to start were delicious - we also started with the Breads and Spreads platter, that had most of their dips (all were amazing) with crudite, pita and lavash. Other starters included the charred octopus, crispy calamari and crispy zucchini and eggplant. The octopus was so good we ordered another one! For mains, we shared the chicken souvlaki, branzino, deconstructed pastitsio and lamb. All the flavors and dishes were beautiful and delicious. It's been two days since our dinner and I still have people raving about that meal. The table side Branzino was awesome and fun to introduce to a few that had never had it before. My friends and I visited Lyra for dinner while in Chicago for my birthday weekend, and it ended up being the perfect place to celebrate. The people-watching was exceptional, the food was excellent, and the service was flawless. Our server--I believe his name was Peter--was wonderful. He was friendly, happy to answer all of our questions about the menu, took everyone's dietary restrictions seriously, and was an absolute pleasure throughout the evening. We'd had a big lunch and weren't terribly hungry, so the four of us shared the Hummus & Charred beets, Charred Octopus, and Wagyu Beef Souvlaki. Everything was delicious, although I think the hummus and charred beets may have been my favorite dish of the night. I don't actually remember ordering dessert, but at some point this magical dish suddenly appeared at our table, and it was spectacular. I *think* it may have been the Portokalopita, but whatever it was, we thoroughly enjoyed it. The evening ended with what can only be described as a restaurant-wide sparkler party, which was such a fun way to finish the night. Between the lively atmosphere, great food, wonderful service, and celebratory energy, I can't imagine a better setting for a birthday dinner. Five stars! read more

My favorite thing -- an all day Sunday food and drink Happy Hour ! And it wasn't canceled during a special event like an Art Fair ! So that's how we came upon Lyra/ yesterday. Lovely bar, spacious dining room, nice patio. Very friendly and knowledgeable service. A few cocktails, a house red (Greek Cab-type), a house white (Spanish), oysters for $2/ea, several shareable apps and dips/spreads (including a low key, very salty saganaki). Interesting pillowy, almost naan-like pita. Great texture on the fried zucchini and eggplant-- not at all greasy or mushy. Interesting avocado tzatziki with dill dip. Everything we had was very good and looking forward to returning to sample the rest of the happy hour menu. Yeah it lives up to the hype! I came here with some friends for a little celebration and the vibes are great. I think my one complaint would be I was expected the towel swinging + more sparklers for how loud it was in there so at times it just felt like a REALLY LOUD place to be where you also ordered up scale mediterranean food... but other than that I won't complain because the food was delicious. To start, I got the drink with tequila which was stunning and beautiful. To start, we got the dips which came with veggies and pita and each one was delicious. This place is so cute! We were in the Fulton Market area and wanted some Mediterranean food. Interior is decorated beautifully with flowers. Service was a little slow - we waited ~45 minutes to get our entrees even though the restaurant wasn't that busy. I've been to Lyra twice now and have been absolutely blown away each time with their service, and their food. As for service each time I have visited their service has been extremely attentive, and knowledgeable. I appreciate this attention to detail and overall care to ensure of a nice and hospitable dining experience. PS i do recommend a reservation as it does get pretty busy. Their food is absolutely incredible. Fresh and quality food and ingredients, great flavors, and decent portions. My highlights include their spicy feta (trust me on that one) Their Lamb Kebob served over crispy potatoes (nice tender lamb, and the potatoes are truly amazing) and their Branzino was GREAT light, flavorful, and they even do table side scaling/deboning. They have an intimate dining room with modern decorations or a nice airy patio if you prefer outdoors like I do. It's the perfect date night, dinner with friends, or a solo night out. I also must shout out their golden hour (their version of happy hour) It's until 6:30p on weekdays and all day Sunday they offer discounted bites and drinks and a perfect way to get an intro to their menu, get some tasty bites or just catch up with drinks without breaking the bank. I don't really go out to Greek restaurants often but this place was really good. There were 10 people in our party and we ordered around 16 dishes. We ordered the breads and the spread and the pita was so warm and delicious! The spicy feta and the tzatziki were a hit. We ordered some horiatiki salata which was a nice and refreshing taste to balance all the heavy meats. If you want to try everything and people aren't picky, family style is the best! We started off with the crispy zucchini and egg plant. These were fried and more like veggie chips. Nonetheless the crunch with the dip was delectable. The waitress was so helpful and she served/cut each plate so everyone got to try one. The saganaki (Greek pan fried cheese) came out flamed! Such a show stopper and really delicious, dense cheese. Came for brunch with my family and I loved the cute decor & summer vibes from there out door seating. I forgot to take a pic of the food but it was so good! The problem came after we received our bill, we like to guess how much our bill is for fun so when we received it we noticed it was way higher than expected($107 more to be exact) we then realized there were 5 drinks added to our tab that we never ordered. I started with the charred octopus which was a bit spicier than I expected but still delicious. Rumor has it that the chef won Top Chef with the deconstructed pastitsio so that's what I had as my entree. It was a full of flavor and such a unique dish! And for dessert my partner and I split so we could try both options. They were polar opposites: one was very chocolatey and the other was very light and fruity. My boyfriend said the chocolate one was life changing! The restaurant is large put it seems like a popular spot so reservations are highly recommended (also plan ahead because parking is a nightmare in the West Loop). We were seating by the bar so there was a lot of noise and commotion but it looked like there were some other areas that seemed a bit more calm. We tried a few different drinks ( French 75, Strawberry Spritz, and Medusas Mule). The French 75 was my favorite, but I LOVE a good French 75. The food was also very good. WOULD DEFINITELY recommend. Came for a nice date night out in the Fulton Market. Booked a reservation but depending on the night if you come late enough, you might be able to snag a table (prefer reservation though. The ambiance was set from the first step in the door, got a live DJ as well helping set the mood. Just very nice aesthetic overall. Our server was very nice, took a little while to get us started, maybe was a little busy but could prefer more attentiveness. We started off which cocktails. We got the Mykonian Mezz, which I would give a 7.5/10, the mezcal isn't too strong which is good, thats usually where they mess up. Also got the Medusa's Mule, which is just like a Moscow mule, was also good; 8/10. We then got appetizers, Feta Stuffed Sausage and the Spicy Feta dip. They came with fresh soft pita bread to eat with. They were amazing to say the least, 9/10 for both the dip and the sausage platter. Would recommend getting both. For our food, we ordered the Beef Cheek Youvetsi, which had orzo in a tomato base w/ a very tender cut of beef that carried a lot of flavor. I personally recommend that dish and give it a 8.9/10. We also ordered the Deconstructed Pastitsio, that was even better. I love short rib, and this dish incorporated it into a pasta better than I expected. Only thing was that the pasta was a little more al dente than expected, but I reckon that that might not be how it is normally made. Either way it didn't ruin the meal at all, would give it 9.2/10. Overall, we had a good time at this restaurant, was a nice vibe with great ambiance and food. This is a perfect restaurant for a date night and birthday celebrations right in the heart of Fulton Market. Very lively bar as well if you want to stop in. I booked reservations same day but I do suggest putting in ahead of time. Delicious beautifully crafted Greek food that impresses even in a city like Chicago which already has a strong Greek cuisine presence! Went here for restaurant week with my wife and we had a great time. The interior is sleek and well designed but still warm, and service was great. To start, we got the tuna tartar which was fresh and very tasty, and the charred octopus which was beautifully grilled with a nice charred flavor outside but still tender and juicy inside, perfectly complemented by the olive relish and charred lemon. My wife got the small upgrade to lobster linguini, including removing the nicely cooked lobster meat at table side; all the components were great including the seafoody savory tomato sauce, but it wasn't quite as special or interesting as the other dishes. The deconstructed pastitsio was fantastic, with melt in your mouth slow cooked short rib and a rich bechamel sauce and truffles, although after most of a plate of it, the richness and heaviness do start to build up. Desserts were spot on, for restaurant week we got both options which included a light orange syrup cake and Greek yogurt ice cream (the portokalopita), and a dark chocolate cake with brown butter ice cream (sokolatopita). The restaurant week was definitely worth the trip, although after looking at the pretty high normal prices, I would be inclined to wait until a special occasion to come back. Having been in Greece I can say that the food here tastes incredible but it's extremely rich. The food in Greece is a lot less heavy however this is a fun celebratory meal. My favorites were definitely the dips with fresh pita and the spanakopita. I also loved the deconstructed gyro and pasta. I like that they give you a sparkler with your meal, but I thought the birthday dessert with only four donuts was extremely cheap considering how expensive everything is . The reason I'm giving it a lower rating is because the service was truly not good at all. I have eaten at so many nice restaurants through Chicago and typically for a special occasion the service is better. Our server was barely around and when she was, she was pushing us to just spend more money on food and drink in a very obvious way. Personally, it was a fun place to celebrate and the food was incredible, but I would not come back because of that. That type of service just rubs me the wrong way and especially when people are choosing to celebrate a birthday there I feel like the dessert should've had more than four donut holes, considering there were six of us. The inside of the restaurant is very fun although the tables are way too close together, and you constantly bumped into each other. The restaurant has a beautiful patio and a well-designed dining area. My only complaint is the lack of ventilation from the kitchen, which made the air a bit heavy at times.
