Eddie and Stephany were so engaging and lovely to speak with. We felt welcomed, catered to, and overall had a lovely time.

You really cannot best their lunch special with 3 dishes for $30. I had the Greek salad, shrimp, and hummus. Everything was fresh and flavorful and we left stuffed.

Came here on my own after walking along the lake. Overlooks a small park with lots of dogs such a peaceful view. Inside is spacious with a bar and tables. Enjoyed great service. Minus one star for a very loud table with a guest that was cursing loudly maybe tipsy from early happy hour. The hostess gave me a look of solidarity as I walked past to go to the bathroom but really they should've asked them to keep it down. The food and wine were delicious and fresh especially the salad. It was a lovely place to have a solo early dinner.

6/25: They HH menu was pretty nice. Personally i like a spritz so im happy they had that on the menu. Was pleasantly surprised by the zucchini chips which were just the right amount of fried and loved the deal for pita and dips. Overall a good experience, but wouldn't be able to tell you how good a meal would be here

his was dinner reservations before a performance at the Harris Theatre. I found this place from recommended restaurants listing on Harris theater website. The customer service was great. We were greeted by the restaurant manager, hostess and waitress. The table was nice and chic. We seated by the window. Great views Chicago loop high rises and seen nature at its beautiful element. The geek Salad was fresh , large portions of vegetables. Humus and pita bread were spicy and addictive. Soup with basil OMG. Caliarmri were breaded just right. The drinks : tropical margaritas and Chardonnay were very good and generous.

The staff was helpful and friendly and very patient with our group of 10. This is a beautiful restaurant great ambiance they have private rooms to reserve for groups or special occasions. The menu lit up was cool, the food was delicious I especially like the beet salad and lamb shank, the risotto was a bit bland but overall decent, but definitely need more flavor especially pairing with the amazing lamb. It looked like the parking was closed so that was inconvenient but would definitely recommend coming again.

This place was some of the best Greek food I've EVER had, I forgot to take a picture of the chicken fourno, but everything from the presentation of each appetizer (especially the flaming saganaki) to the taste and mixture of all of the flavors pairing in each dish, amazing. It is a bit pricier, but not unreasonable whatsoever, will absolutely be stopping here again the next time I'm in Chicago.

Such a delightful meal. Fresh, light tapas styles Greek food, with a cute atheistic perfect for an intimate gathering. The server was super friendly and helpful in guiding us through the menu. I'm definitely going back!

Such a beautiful space. The space alone, with light colors and walls of windows, makes it easy to like this restaurant. The elevated Greek food did not disappoint. We really enjoyed the tzatziki and pita and the fried eggplant and zucchini appetizers. Amanites pasta was a standout vegetarian option, while the lambchops were perfectly prepared. Among the spirit-free cocktails, the Eros and Ice was nice, but a little sweet for me. I ended up trading with another member of our party who had ordered the Mythic, which was one of the best spirit-free cocktails I've ever had. We were both delighted with the trade. Prompt and friendly service made this a terrific dinner. Looking forward to going back in the winter to see the views of the snow in the park.

Hey fellow Yelpers! This is my first time ever trying Avli. Avli is right near a hotel I went to for a conference for work. The outside was very cute and inviting. I ended up getting the $30 lunch special and the food was very delicious! Atmosphere: The atmosphere is amazing!!! When I walked in, a part of me felt like I was transported to somewhere in Greece. They had party rooms and the bathrooms were very clean and fancy. Customer Service: All the staff I interacted with were really nice, polite, & attentive. Waters were refilled without even asking, the waitress checked in from time to time to make sure I was having a good experience, and the wait for all the food wasn't too long which was awesome. Food/Drink Items: There were good allot of options on the menu. I decided to try the $30 lunch special to try a little bit of everything. For the 1st course, I got pita with tzatziki. The 2nd course I got was Greek salad. I kind of wish the Greek salad had lettuce since it consisted of cucumber, cherry tomatoes, peppers, red onion, & feta cheese. For the 3rd and final course I got the chicken souvlaki. The 1st & 3rd course are absolutely delicious and dishes I would get again. Website: https://www.avli.us/avli-on-the-park | Menu (Lunch Specials): LUNCH SPECIALS Overall Experience: Overall, I had a great first experience going to Avli. Everything from the atmosphere to the food was amazing! Avli is a little more on the pricer side, so I totally recommend doing the $30 lunch special. I hope this review help Avli on The Park, Avli in general, & its current and future customers. Have an amazing day!

This was my first time at any Avli location. This restaurant is so beautiful! The restaurant week brunch menu was well-rounded. Included a salad, an appetizer, and a main dish. I even up having some leftover since the plates were decent sized. Every single dish was really tasty except the chicken which seemed to be a little dry. The service was wonderful. All the dishes came out at perfect time and our server was lovely. The staff had written and signed a card for our anniversary :) Overall, it was a really great and delicious brunch and I can't wait to go back!

Avli is probably my favourite place for all types of moods. Best suited for either a party, or an intimate dinner. For someone who's not interested in a heavy meal, their pikilia platter is the best with roasted potatoes and their pair it with any of their wines and dessert, you'll be set! 100% recommend the taramasalata and their tirokafteri! Their bartenders make the best gin based drinks in my opinion! Try their rooftop during sunset if you're looking for an interesting set up or else their indoor view overlooks the park which is always a delight!

    Teresa H.

We enjoyed the atmosphere of the rooftop. We ordered the three spread appetizer Pikilia to share having hummus, tzatziki, and a smoky eggplant Melitzanosalada spread all very tasty. We then ordered the Taverna lamb chops with a side of roasted potatoes to share. There were four lamb chops, but the meat was a little tough but decently flavorful, but would not order that again. For dessert we shared the Caldera, flambéed vanilla bean gelato with a walnut crunch and biscuit. That was delicious! Staff was friendly and attentive.

The space is beautiful--open, bright, full of natural light, and stylish without feeling overdone. We ordered the Short Rib Shakshuka, which was flavorful with just a hint of spice and a generous portion size. The warm, soft pita served alongside was perfect for dipping. The Steak and Eggs was also excellent--the steak and eggs were cooked perfectly, and the fried potatoes were a standout: crispy on the outside while still moist and tender inside. Portion sizes were just right. We also tried both of the recommended brunch cocktails, and they were strong, flavorful, and well balanced. Made last minute reservations for brunch next day after the infamous architecture tour. It was quiet as we've put in an early morning. All the more better to savor all intricate dishes from start to finish. Like the name, The Purple Pig, their specialty is pork dishes so majority of our orders were this. Daily special of the bone marrow bacon jam toast - glazed, slippery off the bone, savory and sweet. Always love a good bone marrow dish to get the sweetness off it. This was so good that there were bits of the marrow and jam left stuck to the bone, I took a piece of the toast and scooped the bone dry. Nothing left for anyone to attack this. Non pork dishes were the Mushroom 3 ways and Spanish octopus. Mushroom dish was savory with all the coated sauces elevating this. Spanish octopus was kicked lightly and easily can bite in to enjoy the tender and charred portions. But the award went to my main course - the braised pork shoulder with saffron, apricots and Swiss chard. Aside from the rippable pork meat when dining on it, the sauces fused together on this dish elevated it and had everyone coming back for more. I needed an official Chicago culinary experience and found it at The Purple Pig without a doubt.

I opted for the chicken kalamata dinner for the main event, which came with more french bread and a salad. The salad came out first, and it was pretty simple with minimal dressing. I wished there had been more variety in produce and something besides iceberg lettuce for greens. I'd recommend getting some feta on the side to add some flavor. The chicken, however, was absolutely outstanding. It was super tender, seasoned beautifully with za'atar, and brined in vinegar (I think). The za'atar seasoned french fries underneath were extra crispy and perfectly soaked up the extra sauce from the chicken. No if, ands, or buts about it, the pork belly was the star of the show. It had that bit of char to give it that maillard charm [sic], and it was just the right cut of meat that it was tremendously flavorful and savory. Not over salted either! I used to think that my favorite gyro filling was lamb. No. My favorite gyro filling is pork belly, 100%. Far too many places stuff it to the absolute brim for the heck of saying, "Hey, look, we're not greedy at all! We're give you more ingredients." Though this throws the balance off and it becomes a piping hot mess. Not here. I didn't find myself saying, "They skimped on the meat," nor did I find myself saying, "I would have liked a little more veggies." While a bit more onions wouldn't have hurt, I am not complaining. The only thing I will say is the tzatziki sauce could have used a little more flavor. I'm not sure if it needed more cucumber or maybe some herbs, but it felt more like a yogurt sauce than what I would call a true tzatziki. All this is good and fine except for the service. While I do want to be fair and say that I was here as part of a larger group. I don't think that's an excuse. It took us just about an hour for our manis to start coming. The restaurant wasn't very busy, either. If it's an indication, one of the things I ordered was a EPSA soda (by the way, it had no carbonation and was more of a fruit juice). It took well over 15 minutes just to get a bottle of this stuff. Come on, folks. Just get it from the fridge, give it to me, and there's more likelihood I'd finish it before the food gets here and I'll ask for another one. The final thing I do want to give them massive props for is their low prices, probably about the same as a meal would cost you at a fast food joint, with comparable portions. It's not something that you're going to be waddling away like a penguin, but unless you have a massively voracious appetite, you will not leave hungry, just not brimming to the full. Thus, the pork belly gyro is definitely worth a return visit. However, I have to make sure I give myself plenty of time because based on my experience with a larger group, it may take unreasonably long to get my food.
