You get what you pay for! They always go above and beyond to make sure everything fits perfectly, and somehow manage to make the whole experience enjoyable and stress-free. At the new Greenwich studio, I worked with Humberto, the lead fitter, and he was fantastic--friendly, professional, and put me completely at ease. The studio itself is gorgeous: stylish, chic, and perhaps one of the nicest Alts locations I've been to. Plus, there's plenty of parking right on Putnam Avenue, which makes it super convenient. I recently brought in more than 10 garments (dresses, sweaters, skirts and jeans). Mix of complex and simple alterations. It's incredible that they are able to handle everything with ease. I also needed some outfits rushed for an event and the team was able to accommodate my short window. Within just 3 days I got an email that everything was ready for pickup--and the tailoring was flawless! I then returned the next week and they'd lost the ribbon. The middle-aged woman not only did not apologize but was outrageously rude behaving as if I were in the wrong. Finally, several days later I returned yet again and the elderly gentleman was very kind acknowledging that the ribbon had been torn due to its age. The middle-age woman with whom I had dealt should be let go. She has no business interacting with customers, particularly since the rate for their services is high.

I literally took the dress out of the bag at the tailor and left it there. When I came back today to pick it up (and try it on) I noticed immediately what looked like a grease stain. When I asked if the tailor had steamed it or anything he replied with a "a little bit" (i now realize he must have started to steam it, stained it and stopped because it's only half steamed anyway). When I told him what I noticed, he immediately became defensive, crossing his arms and telling me that clothes come with stains all the time, how do I know it happened there and that I just didn't see it. When I told him there is no way that it could have happened anywhere else, that it was brand new, never worn and that I stood on his pedestal staring at myself while he pinned the dress and that there was no way it was there before, he told me "well who cares". When I said that I cared and that this was a bridesmaid dress for a wedding he said "then get it dry cleaned". I wasn't asking for anything from him, I didn't ask for my money back or even an apology but this is a horrible thing to happen and any reasonable business person who at least attempt to make me feel better or apologize or maybe even offer to pay for dry cleaning.
